Abstract

Se describe un proceso de reformacion catalítica que emplea un catalizador que contiene un metal del Grupo VIII, bajas cantidades de bismuto y una zeolitaL. El catalizador es un catalizador de reformacion no ácido monofuncional. Preferiblemente, el catalizador contiene uno o más halogenos. Preferiblemente lacarga incluye hidrocarburos C8. El agregado de pequenas cantidades de bismuto incrementa o sustancialmente mantiene la estabilidad del catalizador.Inesperadamente, se obtienen bajos regímenesde desalquilacion usando el catalizador mientras se efectua la reformacion para producir aromáticos, especialmentepara producir xilenos tales como paraxileno.
