Abstract

Una composicion de acero de maquinado libre, proceso para obtenerla y acero obtenido, donde el acero de maquinado libre no se vale del plomo paraaumentar la maquinabilidad. En su lugar, los aceros de la invencion emplean concentraciones de estanoalr ededor de los granos de ferrita para duplicarel papel que cumple el plomo, que descubrieron los inventores, en el aumento de la maquinabilidad. Este rol va a provocar una fragilizacion en lastemperaturas de la zona de corte localizadas cambiandoel m odo de rotura de transgranular a intergranular a esas temperaturas. El uso que hace la invencionde concentraciones de estano alrededor de los granos de ferrita del acero permite obtener el efecto de aumentar la maquinabilidad mientras se empleaelcon tenido volumétrico de estano por debajo de los niveles en los cuales el resquebrajamiento en caliente se vuelve problemático. La invencion mejora los acerosplomíferos de maquinado libre en el sentido de que la fragilizacion del aumento de lamaquinab ilidad producida al concentrar estano alrededor de losgranos de ferrita es tanto controlable como reversible.
