Abstract
El hierro de reduccion directa que tiene al menos 80% en peso con una granulometría de 3 mm como máximo, se funde en un horno de arco voltaico. El hornocontiene un bano de hierro líquido. Durante el funcionamiento del horno se produce sobre el banou na capa de espuma de escoria y el hierro de reduccion directacae por gravedad a través de al menos una lanza movil dentro de la capa de espuma de escoria y sobre el bano de hierro. Preferiblemente la separacion entre ladesembocadura de la lanza yel nivel del bano de hierro se mantiene aproximadamente constante.
