Abstract
Se definen en esta descripcion fragmentos aislados de ácidos nucleicos que codifican enzimas para la biosíntesis de triptofano y porciones de ellas. Estasenzimas son la alfa antranilato sintasa y subunidades alfa y beta de la triptofano sintasa. Asimismo se incluyen genes quiméricos conteniendo dichosfragmentos de ácidos nucleicos y células huésped transformadas por dichos genes quiméricos. Los polipéptidos codificados por dichos fragmentos de ácidosnucleicos y un método para alterar el nivel de expresion de las enzimas de la biosíntesis del triptofano, también se incluyen. Se describen métodos deobtencion de polinucleotidos que codifican enzimas de la biosíntesis de triptofano y los productos que se obtienen por estos métodos. Finalmente sedetalla un método para evaluar la capacidad de un compuesto para inhibir la actividad de dichas enzimas.
