Abstract

The unique spacer arm assembly is automatically moved and brought into alignment with each cathode and then angularly moved so that the blades mounted at the end of the spacer arm assembly forcefully penetrate into the cathode baseplate and attached zinc plates on each face of the cathode, and then said blades proceed to detach the zinc plates from the cathode base plate. This operation is carried out until the zinc plates attached to each face of the cathode are released. The apparatus is preferably provided with wheels to allow its mobility.
