Abstract
"PROCESSO PARA A RECUPERAçãO DE METAL DE UMA SOLUçãO AQUOSA, CéLULA PARA A ELETRO-RECUPERAçãO DE METAL DE UMA SOLUçãO AQUOSA, CáTODO PARA SER USADO EM UMA CéLULA DE ELETRóLISE PARA A ELETRO-RECUPERAçãO DE METAL DE UMA SOLUçãO AQUOSA, MECANISMO PARA REMOVER O METAL DEPOSITADO NA SUPERFìCIE DE DEPOSIçãO DO CáTODO". Trata-se de um processo de eletrólise para a recuperação de metal de uma solução aquosa. Na eletrólise, o metal da solução é levado a depositar em uma superfície de deposição de um cátodo. O processo inclui a etapa de indução de uma densidade de corrente não uniforme através da superfície de deposição para formar áreas de densidade de corrente elevada intercaladas por áreas de densidade de baixa corrente. A diferença entre as áreas de densidade de corrente elevada e de densidade de baixa corrente é suficiente para fazer com que a deposição de metal fique concentrada nas áreas de densidade de corrente elevada para promover a deposição não uniforme de metal através da superfície de deposição. It is an electrolysis process for the recovery of metal from an aqueous solution. In electrolysis, the solution metal is deposited on a cathode deposition surface. The process includes the step of inducing a non-uniform current density across the deposition surface to form areas of high current density interspersed with areas of low current density. The difference between the high current density and low current density areas is sufficient to cause metal deposition to be concentrated in the high current density areas to promote non-uniform metal deposition across the deposition surface. An electrolysis cell for the electro-recovery of the metal from an aqueous solution is also defined. The cell includes a cathode that includes a deposition surface on which the metal is deposited with electrolysis of the aqueous solution. In cell operation, the deposition surface has a nonuniform electric field that has strong electric field areas interspersed with weak electric field areas. The difference between the strong electric field and weak electric field areas is sufficient to make the metal deposition concentrated in the high electric field areas to promote non-uniform surface metal deposition.
