Abstract
Se describe un sistema de comunicaciones opticas el cual comprende una fuente optica; un modulador optico, el cual recibe una senal de transmision queposee frecuencias incluidas dentro de una banda de senales y que esta adaptado para emitiruna senal optica modulada de un ancho de banda opticopredeterminado; una linea de transmision optica que comprende una porcion de fibra optica; un receptor optico adaptado para recibir la senal optica en lapresencia de una SNR predeterminada enla ba nda de senales, medida en una banda de 5 MHz. El sistema de telecomunicaciones comprende, asimismo, conectadoopticamente entre el modulador optico y la linea de transmision optica, un despolizador que comprende dos porciones de fibraoptica de m antenimiento depolarizacion, conectadas opticamente entre si de manera tal que los respectivos ejes de polarizacion forman un angulo de 45° en el cual el ancho de bandaoptica, las longitudes y la birrefrigencia de las fibras opticas dema ntenimiento de polarizacion se seleccionan operativamente de modo que la SNRen el receptor en la banda de senal no difiere mas de 1 dB de la SNR en el receptor medida en una banda de 5 MHz substituyendo la porcion de fibra opticade la lineade t ransmision por un atenuador pasivo de la misma atenuacion.
