Abstract

Se describe un método para incrementar la efectividad de un microbicida. En el método, un microbicida y un compuesto N-alquil heterocíciclico se aplican aun sustrato o sistema acuoso sujeto al crecimiento de microorganismos. El compuesto N-alquil heterocíclico es aplicado en una cantidad efectiva paraincrementar la actividad microbicida del microbicida. El compuesto N-alquil heterocíciclico tiene la fórmula (I). La variable n varía entre 5 y 17, yel anillo heterocíclico es un anillo insustituido o sustituido que tiene cuatro a ocho miembros. Se describen composiciones microbicidas en donde elmicrobicida y el compuesto N-alquil heterocíclico está presentes en una cantidad combinada efectiva para controlar el crecimiento deal menos unmicroorganismo. También se describen métodos para controlar el crecimiento de microorganismos sobre varios sustratos y en varios sistemas acuosos. Lacombinación del microbicida y el compuesto N-alquil heterocíclico es particularmente útil como un microbicida en la industria del cuero, laindustria de la madera, la industria papelera, la industria textil, la industria agrícola y la industria del recubrimiento, como asimismo en aguasde procesos industriales.
