[Term of patent 3% years] To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, JOHN K. My design consists of an alphabet of capital letters, with figures, points, short and, and dollar-mark, condensed and unshaded, each character showing afine line above and a heavy or shade line below.
It further consists of a right (8) and left (1) ribbon end of three shaded waves and an intermediate ribbon-piece, 5, with two shaded waves, all with top and bottom lines, corre sponding tothe top and bottom lines of the letters, figures, &e., so that when used in connection therewith a ribbon of the thickness of the bottom line can be represented with words inscribed upon it.
It still further consists of a right (3) and left (2) end piece, top, bottom, and end line, connected by curved cornerlines, (concavo,) each embellished with a representation of a screw-head; also, an intermediate piece, 7, similarly constructed and embellished, and a screw-head alone, 6, with the top and bottom lines; and, again, a blank, with the same top and bottom lines, in each case the said lines corresponding with the lines on the letters, figures, etc, so that when used in connection therewith a tabletot' the thickness of the bottom line can he represented with words inscribed upon it.
What I claim as new is- The design for a font of printing-types, as described and shown.
