DESIGN FOR PRINTING-TYPE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 13,315, dated September 26, 1882.
Application tiled April 18, 1882. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES E. HEYEE, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city of Chicago, county of Cook, and State ol' Illinois, have invented and produced a. new and original Design fora Font of Printing- Types, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying typographical illustration, forming a part hereof.
The character of the design is a heavy face ot' a compressed so-called old-style cnt; and it consists of capitals, lower-case, figures, and points. A special feature ot' the letter is that on the capital letters A K M N R V W Y and the lower-case k v w y, the heavy or main stroke, wherever it connects with or runs through another part of the letter, forms to a concave point from either side. The capital letters A H have a triangular center or cross line, which is rounded or lled in the center on top of said line. The center flags of capitals E and F are on a slanting cross-line to connect with the nian stroke. The flags of capital J and and lower-case fj y have a pointed triangular shape. The center of capitals K and R is disconnected from the main stroke ot' the letter. The cross-line of lowercase eis slightly curving upward.
