Abstract
695,608. Jugs &c. with dripless spouts. FREED, C. W. Aug. 28, 1951 [Aug. 29, 1950], No 20248/51. Class 128 [Also in Group XVII] . A jug, paper cup &c. has an asymmetric dripless spout 11 one wall of which makes a different angle with the adjacent wall of the vessel than does the other wall, thus forming a channel portion 12. The edge of one wall of the spout may form an acute angle of 15 to 75 degrees, preferably 45 degrees, with the rim of the vessel, the edge of the spout's other wall then forming an obtuse angle with the rim. Part of the rim of the vessel may slope downwards towards the spout so that, when the vessel is in its normal position, the pouring area of the spout is below the plane of the rim.
