Abstract

1,151,702. Spouts for containers. REXALL DRUG & CHEMICAL CO. 20 June, 1966 [23 June, 1965], No. 27522/66. Headings B8D and B8T. A spout 18 for a container is formed with a flared end over which fits a closure cap 22 which is attached to the container, and on which spout, a collar 38 is slidable from a retracted position, as shown, and on removal of the cap, to an operative position in which the contents of the container may be poured from the spout over a dispensing lip 50 on the collar. The collar wall is shaped to fit exactly the flared end of the spout to prevent complete removal of the collar, and leakage of the contents between the spout and collar. Ribs 46 may also be provided on the collar to prevent leakage. The collar is rotatable to position the dispensing lip 50 over the container edge. The spout may be formed in a container lid.
