Abstract

An electrochemical cell, having a cell housing that contains the active components of the cell and comprising: (a) a cylindrical well 74 formed in a part of the cell housing and having a cylindrical exterior surface disposed inside the cell (b) a fastening member made of a resilient sheet 401 of material that includes a fastening hole whose circumference is interrupted by a plurality of radially inwardly directed tabs 406, the fastening member being axially forced onto the cylindrical exterior surface of the well and (c) means 28, 34 fixed to the fastening member for electrically connecting one of the active components of the cell to the fastening member.
