Abstract
The invention relates to a device for the helical taping of circular tubes (4) with smooth, uncorrugated tape (8), which is drawn off from a tape roll (7) by the rotating tube (4) and deformed by a rolling process immediately before it is applied to the tube (4). The rolling process is brought about by a rolling ring (12), driven synchronously with the tube (4) by the tube's (4) rotary drive unit and surrounding the tube (4), and a frictionally driven rolling plate (13), whose circumferential surface can be adjusted about an axis lying at a transverse angle to the tube's longitudinal axis (4a) and fed in to the rolling ring (12). The rolling ring (12) and the rolling plate (13) with its adjusting device are located on a rotary table (10) which, according to the particular inclination of the tape (8) being wound can be rotated about an axis (17) intersecting the longitudinal axis (4a) of the tube at right angles as an extension of the lead point (16) of the tape (8) onto the tube (4). Also located on the rotary table (10) is a slotting tool (20) whose cutting edge (20a) engages on the tube (4) roughly 90<o> in front of the lead point (16) of the tape (8) onto the tube (4). <IMAGE>
