Abstract
Sredstvo za uklanjanje sumpora iz rastopa gvoždja dobija se od komercijalnog kalcijum karbida, topitelja odabranog iz grupe koja se sastoji od kalcijum aluminatne šljake i silicijum dioksida, i metalnog oksida. Metalni oksidi su oksidi gvoždja i manganovi oksidi. Postupak za dobijanje sredstva iz pronalaska sastoji se od mešanja, u rastopu, kalcijum oksida, kalcijum fluorida i aluminijum oksida, nakon čega se smeša naglo hladi, pa joj se po očvršćavanju dodaje komercijalni kalcijum karbid; ili od mešanja čestica čvrstog komercijalnog kalcijum karbida i čestica silicijum dioksida, nakon čega sledi kompaktovanje i granulovanje. Nakon uklanjanja sumpora iz rastopa gvoždja šljaka koja se uklanja sa površine rastopa sadrži smanjenu kolićinu rezidualnog kalcijum karbida.
