- the seat belt system 7 includes a crotch strap assembly 70 and a shoulder strap 76. The seat belt system 7 is used to reliably restrain a child in the seat shell 2.
- the directional terms such as “front,””rear,””left,” and “right” of the seat housing 2 are based on the “front,””rear,””left,” and “right” orientations of the child sitting in the seat housing 2, while the directional terms such as “front,””rear,””left,” and “right” of the base 1 refer to the “front,””rear,””left,” and “right” orientations of the vehicle when the base 1 is installed on the vehicle seat.
- These directional terms are only used to make the description of the embodiments of this disclosure clearer and are not intended to unduly limit the scope of protection of this disclosure.
- the seat housing 2 is in the forward position, at which time the front-back, left-right, and right orientations of the seat housing 2 are consistent with the front-back, left-right, and right orientations of the base 1.
- arrows F and B schematically indicate the "front” and “rear” directions of the base 1
- arrows L and R schematically indicate the "left” and “right” directions of the base 1.
- the seat housing 2 is in a rearward position, where its front-back, left-right, and right-side orientations are opposite to those of the base 1.

- the support frame 19 is mounted within the base housing 10 and is slidable relative to the base housing 10. Referring to the exploded views of the base housing 10 and the support frame 19 shown in Figures 5 and 6, the base housing 10 may include a plurality of rigid shells that define the shape of the base housing 10, defining the internal space of the base housing 10.
- the plurality of rigid shells may include, for example, an upper shell 101 and a lower shell 102, where the upper shell 101 corresponds to the stop surface of the base housing 10, and the lower shell 102 corresponds to the back surface of the base housing 10.
- the base housing 10 may also have other implementations.
- Most of the structure of the support frame 19 is located within the interior space of the base housing 10, that is, the support frame 19 is housed within the base housing 10.
- the support frame 19 slides within the base housing 10.
- the support frame 19 is formed, for example, primarily by connecting multiple metal tubings through welding, screwing, etc., so that the support frame 19 has sufficient structural strength.
- the support frame 19 extends in the base 11 and the abutment portion 12.
- the top of the abutment portion 12 of the base housing 10 has an opening 1203, through which the upper end of the support frame 19 can extend and be exposed outside the base housing 10.
- a base upper limit member 311 is mounted on the upper end of the support frame 19; the structure of the base upper limit member 311 will be described in detail below.
- a decorative shell 195 may also be installed on the upper end of the support frame 19. The decorative shell 195 slides with the opening 1203, serving to close the opening 1203. Additionally, the decorative shell 195 conceals unnecessary exposed structures at the upper end of the support frame 19.
- Figure 7 shows an exemplary structure of the support frame 19.
- the support frame 19 includes two longitudinal bars 191 and multiple crossbars (including but not limited to a second crossbar 193 and two first crossbars 192) connected between the two longitudinal bars 191.
- the support frame 19 is mainly slidably engaged with the base housing 10 of the two longitudinal bars 191.
- Each longitudinal bar 191 can be a single-piece structure or composed of multiple separate segments connected together.
- Each longitudinal bar 191 can have a tortuous shape, such that the distance between the lower ends of the two longitudinal bars 191 is larger, and the distance between the upper ends of the two longitudinal bars 191 is smaller.
- the decorative shell 195 is specifically installed on the upper end of the two longitudinal bars 191.
- Figure 8 shows a perspective view of the mounting base 13 and the support frame 19 assembled together.
- Figure 9 shows a perspective view of the base housing 10.
- Figure 10 shows a bottom view of the child safety seat 1000 omitting the lower housing 102.
- Figures 11 and 12 show different perspective views of the child safety seat 1000 omitting the base housing 10.
- Figure 13 shows a schematic diagram of a cross-section along U2-U2 in Figure 8.
- Figure 14 shows a partial schematic diagram of a cross-section along U1-U1 in Figure 4.
- the upper housing 101 has an opening H 110 corresponding to the base 11, and the mounting base 13 covers the opening 110.
- the mounting base 13 is fixedly connected to the support frame 19, and the seat housing 2 is rotatably mounted on the mounting base 13.
- the mounting base 13 has multiple mounting holes 131a, and the two first crossbars 192 located between the two longitudinal bars 191 have multiple mounting holes 192a.
- Multiple fasteners (e.g., bolts) 139 pass through the multiple mounting holes 131a and multiple mounting holes 192a, thereby fixing the mounting base 13 to the support frame 19. That is, the movement and rotation of the mounting base 13 relative to the support frame 19 are restricted. Therefore, when the support frame 19 slides relative to the base housing 10, the mounting base 13 and the seat housing 2 slide together with the support frame 19 relative to the base housing 10, thereby adjusting the tilt angle of the seat housing 2.
- the dimensions of the mounting base 13 are preferably designed such that, as the mounting base 13 slides relative to the base housing 10 along with the support frame 19, the mounting base 13 remains covering the periphery of the opening 110, so as to minimize the exposure of the opening 110.
- the mounting base 13 is fixed to the support...
- the frame 19 is not limited to the examples described above.
- the support frame 19 can also be connected to the mounting base 13 via a fixing seat 196.
- the fixing seat 196 may include a plate 1961 and at least two arms 1962 extending from the plate 1961. The plate 1961 abuts against the mounting base 13.
- the plate 1961 has a hole 19610, through which a fastener 1968 passes and connects to the mounting base 13.
- the arms 1962 have a hole 19620, which is fitted onto a second crossbar 193 located between the two longitudinal bars 191.
- the second crossbar 193 is closer to the backrest 12 relative to the first crossbar 192.
- the hole 19620 is a non-circular hole, so that the arms 1962 are fitted onto the second crossbar 193 without relative rotation.
- the upper housing 101 may also be provided with a guide groove 106 communicating with the opening 110 and slidingly engaging with the arm 1962.
- a lower base limiting member 321 is provided on the fixing seat 196 of the base 1.
- a handle 136 may be provided on the front side of the mounting base 13. By operating the handle 136, the support frame 19 can be easily pushed to slide relative to the base housing 10. In some embodiments, the handle 136 protrudes outward from the front side of the mounting base 13.
- two or more attachments 1013 are provided inside the base housing 10. These attachments 1013 can be fixed to the upper housing 101 and/or the lower housing 102, for example, by fasteners. The attachments 1013 are spaced apart along the sliding direction of the support frame 19.
- Each attachment 1013 can be made of, but is not limited to, a metallic material.
- Each attachment 1013 may have an elongated hole 10131 extending in an arc shape.
- At least one longitudinal rod 191 may be fitted with a pin 1916, which slidably engages with the elongated hole 10131 of the corresponding attachment 1013, allowing the support frame 19 to slide relative to the base housing 10.
- the base housing 10 may also have a sliding track that slidably engages with the support frame 19.
- the plurality of attachments 1013 may include a first attachment 1013a disposed near the lower end of the longitudinal rod 191, a second attachment 1013b disposed in the center, and a second attachment 1013c disposed near the upper end of the longitudinal rod 191. It should be noted that although only one longitudinal rod 191 is shown in Figures 5 and 6 with a first attachment 1013a and a third attachment 1013c, it can be understood that in other embodiments, another longitudinal rod 191 may also be disposed with a first attachment 1013a and a second attachment 1013c.
- the centrally located second attachment 1013b spans two longitudinal rods 191 and forms two sliding grooves (not labeled in the figures), with the two longitudinal rods 191 slidingly engaging with the two sliding grooves of the second attachment 1013b.
- the sliding position of the support frame 19 relative to the base housing 10 can be locked by the first locking mechanism 131, thereby locking the tilt angle of the seat housing 2.
- An example structure of the first locking mechanism 131 is shown in this embodiment.
- the first locking mechanism 131 is mounted to the mounting base 13.
- the first locking mechanism 131 includes a movable locking element (also referred to as a shift pin) 1311.
- the base housing 10 is provided with a plurality of locking portions (e.g., lock holes) 1310, which are spaced apart in the sliding direction of the support frame 19.
- the locking element 1311 is selectively connected to the plurality of locking portions 1310, thereby positioning the support frame 19 in different sliding positions, and consequently positioning the seat housing 2 at different tilt angles.
- the plurality of locking portions 1310 can be provided on a suitable attachment 1013. More specifically, the plurality of locking portions 1310 are provided on the first attachment 1013a.
- the axes of each locking part 1310 are parallel to the axis of the pin 1916. Referring to Figure 9, the first attachment 1013a can be clamped between the upper housing 101 and the lower housing 102.
- the fastener 1019 passes through the upper housing 101 and the first attachment 1013a in sequence and is then connected to the lower housing 102.
- the first attachment 1013a may be made of metal, for example.
- the first attachment 1013a made of metal has high structural strength, and even if the locking part 1311 is frequently inserted into or removed from the locking part 1310 during the back-and-forth sliding of the support frame 19, the first attachment 1013a is not easily damaged.
- the first attachment 1013a may also be made of a non-metallic material with good strength, such as high-strength polyester ethylene.
- placing the locking part 1310 and the elongated hole 10131 on the first attachment 1013a also helps to simplify the structural complexity of the base housing 10 and reduce the cost of the base housing 10.
- the first locking mechanism 131 also includes a release member 1312 and a return spring (also referred to as a second return spring) 1314.
- the release member 1312 can be installed on the front side of the mounting base 13. More specifically, the release member 1312 can be installed on the handle.
- the release member 1312 is operably connected to the locking member 1311 via a traction rope 1313 (shown in dashed lines in Figure 13).
- One end of the locking member 1311 is inside the mounting base 13 and abuts against a return spring 1314, which pushes the locking member 1311 so that the other end of the locking member 1311 engages with the corresponding locking part 1310.
- the first locking mechanism 131 is in a locked state.
- the release member 1312 is pressed while holding the handle 136. The release member 1312 pulls the locking member 1311 via the traction rope 1313, and the other end of the locking member 1311 disengages from the locking part 1310.
- the first locking mechanism 131 is in an unlocked state.
- the seat housing 2 includes a seat portion 21 and a backrest portion 22 extending upward from the rear end of the seat portion 21.
- a headrest 23 can be installed on the backrest portion 22.
- Side impact protection blocks 29 are detachably installed on both sides of the backrest portion 22 (see Figure 1).
- the seat portion 21 is rotatably mounted to the mounting base 13.
- Figure 14 shows the axis XX of relative rotation between the seat housing 2 and the mounting base 13, thereby allowing the seat housing 2 to switch to a forward or rearward position. That is, the rotation of the seat housing 2 relative to the mounting base 13 can adjust the orientation of the seat housing 2.
- a rotating mechanism 26 can be installed at the bottom of the seat 21, and the seat 21 is rotatably connected to the mounting base 13 via the rotating mechanism 26.
- An axial limiting member 6 can be installed at the bottom of the rotating mechanism 26, and the mounting base 13 and the support frame 19, which are fixed together, are clamped between the seat 21 and the axial limiting member 6.
- the axial limiting member 6 includes, for example, a disk coaxial with the rotation axis XX, which abuts against the two first crossbars 192 below, thereby clamping the mounting base 13 and the support frame 19 between the seat 21 and the disk 61.
- a seat upper limit member 312 is provided on the upper part of the backrest 22. When the seat housing 2 is in the forward position, the base upper limit member 311 and the seat upper limit member 312 are engaged, for example, with a clearance fit. It should be noted that when the seat shell 2 is in the forward position, the upper base stop 311 and the upper seat stop 312 do not necessarily need to be in contact with each other at all times.
- the upper base stop 311 and the upper seat stop 312 only need to contact each other when the seat shell 2 is tilted forward relative to the base 1, applying a backward pulling force to the backrest portion 22 of the seat shell 2. This can prevent the seat shell 2 from tilting forward relative to the base 1 when the vehicle brakes unexpectedly, which could potentially injure a child.
- the upper base stop 311 and the upper seat stop 312 may have a hook-shaped cross section, and the two hook each other.
- the implementation of the upper base stop 311 and the upper seat stop 312 is not limited to this. Referring to Figure 4, a lower seat stop 322 is provided on the front side of the back of the rib 21.
- the seat shell 2 When the seat shell 2 is in the rear position, the seat shell 2 rotates relative to the base 1, so that the lower seat stop 322 is opposite to the lower base stop 321. At this time, the lower base limit member 321 and the lower seat limit member 322 cooperate, for example, with a clearance fit. It should be noted that when the seat housing 2 is in the rearward position, the lower base limit member 321 and the lower seat limit member 322 do not necessarily need to maintain constant contact. They only need to contact each other when the seat housing 2 is tilted forward relative to the base 1, applying a rearward pulling force to the lower part 21 of the seat housing 2, thereby preventing the seat housing 2 from tilting forward relative to the base 1.
- the lower base limit member 321 and the lower seat limit member 322 may have a hook-shaped cross-section, or hook together. More specifically, the first end of the lower seat limit member 322 is located inside the seat housing 2, and the second end of the lower seat limit member 322 forms an engaging hook that extends outward from the inside of the seat housing 2 to engage with the lower base limit member 321.

- FIG. 9 The top view of the base housing 10 in this embodiment can be seen in Figures 9 and 32.
- Figure 32 shows a schematic diagram of a cross-section along U5-U5 of Figure 30.
- Figure 33 shows an incomplete exploded view of the mounting base 13.
- Figure 34 shows a schematic diagram of a cross-section along U4-U4 of Figure 29.
- Figures 35 and 36 show schematic diagrams of cross-sections along U3-U3 of Figure 29, wherein the first locking mechanism 131 in Figure 35 is in a locked state, and the first locking mechanism 131 in Figure 36 is in an unlocked state.
- This embodiment mainly modifies the structure of the first locking mechanism 131 in the first embodiment described above.
- the first locking mechanism 131 includes a locking component 13A, an unlocking component 1312, a traction rope 1313, a return spring 1314, a drive pin 1315, a return spring 1316, and a return spring 1319.

- the locking assembly 13A and the return spring 1314 are mounted on the mounting base 13.
- the release element 1312, the traction rope 1313, the drive pin 1315, the return spring (also referred to as the first return spring) 1316, and the return spring 1319 are mounted on the seat housing 2, and more specifically, on the seat portion 21 of the seat housing 2.
- the mounting base 13 includes an upper housing 1301 and a lower housing 1302.
- the peripheries of the upper housing 1301 and the lower housing 1302 can be connected, for example, by fasteners 13015.
- a receiving cavity 1300 is formed between the upper housing 1301 and the lower housing 1302.
- the upper housing 1301 defines a stepped hole 13010.
- the rotary structure 26 of the seat portion 21 is pivotally connected to the hole 13010.
- the hole 13010 has a bottom wall 13012, on which a fourth hole 13013 is provided.
- a driving block 1317 is slidably engaged with the fourth hole 13013.
- the sliding direction of the driving block 1317 is parallel to the axis XX, that is, the driving block 1317 can slide axially.
- the rear portion of the lower housing 1302 has a groove 13026 that mates with the arm 1962 of the fixed base 196 (see FIG. 7), and a hole 13027 for fasteners 1968 (see FIG. 8) to pass through.
- the bottom of the lower housing 1302 has an annular protrusion 13021 with a central hole 130210, which pivotally engages with the rotary structure 26.
- the annular protrusion 13021 has a bottom wall 13022 and a peripheral wall 13023.
- the bottom wall 13022 is located to the left of the bottom wall 13012, and multiple fasteners pass through the mounting holes 131a of the bottom wall 13012 and connect to the first crossbar 192 of the support frame 19.
- the peripheral wall 13023 has a hole 1303, and a locking member 1311 slides into the hole 1303.
- the locking member 1311 slides perpendicular to the axis XX, meaning it can slide radially. Similar to the first embodiment, on one hand, the locking foot 1311 can extend out of the receiving cavity 1300 through the hole 1303 to engage with the corresponding locking part 1310 (see FIG. 9), thus locking the first locking mechanism 131. On the other hand, the locking member 1311 can retract into the receiving cavity 1300 through the hole 1303 to exit from the locking part 1310, thus releasing the first locking mechanism 131.
- the driving block 1317 is operably connected to the locking member 1311, allowing the axial movement of the driving block 1317 to drive the locking member 1311 to move radially.
- the driving block 1317 may have an elongated hole 13172, with the locking member 1311 slidingly engaging with the elongated hole 13172.
- An oblique hole 13171 is provided on the wall of the elongated hole 13172.
- a connecting pin 1318 is provided on the fixing part 1311, and the connecting pin 1318 is slidably engaged with the oblique hole 13171.
- the sliding mechanism can either slide out or retract.
- the drive block 1317 can also push the locking member 1311 to move via other structures.
- the positions of the oblique hole and connecting pin on the locking member 1311 and the drive block 1317 can be interchanged.
- the return spring 1314 applies force to the locking member 1311, causing the locking member 1311 to move towards the locking portion 1310 to engage with it.
- the bottom of the drive block 1317 has a receiving groove 13170, one end of the return spring 1314 extends into the receiving groove 13170 to abut against the drive block 1317, and the other end of the return spring 1314 abuts against the wall 1304 located to the left of the drive block 1317.
- the return spring 1314 applies an upward axial force to the drive block 1317, driving the locking member 1311 to move towards the locking portion 1310 by the movement of the drive block 1317.
- the release element 1312 can be installed at the front of the seat housing 2, more specifically, at the front of the back of the seat portion 21.
- a mounting groove 2110 is provided at the front of the back of the seat portion 21, and the release element 1312 is slidably installed in the mounting groove 2110.
- a second hole 2101 is also provided on the back of the seat portion 21. When the seat housing 2 is in the forward or rearward position, the second hole 2101 is located above and opposite to the fourth hole 13013.
- the drive pin 1315 is slidably engaged with the second hole 2101, and the sliding direction of the drive pin 1315 is parallel to the axis X, that is, the drive pin 1315 can slide axially.
- the release element 1312 is operably connected to the drive pin 1315 via a traction rope 1313.
- a traction rope 1313 extends inside the seat housing 2.
- the first end 13131 of the traction rope 1313 is operably connected to the release element 1312, and the second end 13132 of the traction rope 1313 is connected to the drive pin 1315.
- the first end 13132 of the traction rope 1313 can pull the drive pin 1315 downward, and the lower end of the drive pin 1315 further pushes the drive block 1317 downward.
- the second end 13132 of the traction rope 1313 extends upward and connects to the drive pin 1315. Therefore, when the traction rope 1313 is under force, it drives the drive pin 1315 to move downward.
- a connecting seat 13151 can be fixed to the upper end of the drive pin 1315.
- the connecting seat 13151 extends laterally from the drive pin 1315 and connects to the second end 13132 of the traction rope 1313.
- the connecting seat 13151 and the drive pin 1315 can be separate structures or integrated structures.
- the seat housing 2 can also be equipped with a steering wheel 13133, located below the connecting seat 13151.
- the second end 13132 of the traction rope 1313 passes around the steering wheel 13133 and extends upward to connect to the connecting seat 13151.
- the connecting seat 13151 and the fixed seat 13152 are slidably engaged, and the fixed seat 13152 is installed at the bottom of the seat portion 21 of the seat housing 2.
- the process of adjusting the tilt angle of the child safety seat housing 2 provided in this embodiment will be described below with reference to Figures 34 to 36.
- the release member 1312 pulls the drive pin 1315 downward through the traction rope 1313.
- the drive pin 1315 pushes the drive block 1317 downward. Under the action of the oblique hole 13171 and the connecting pin 1318, the locking member 1311 retracts and exits from the locking part 1310. At this time, hold the wall of the mounting groove 2110 and pull or push the seat housing 2 to adjust the tilt angle of the seat housing 2. After the seat housing 2 is adjusted to a suitable tilt angle, the release pin 1312 is released, and the release pin 1312 is reset under the push of the return spring 1319. Referring to Figure 35, the drive pin 1315 moves upward under the push of the return spring 1316, and the drive block 1317 moves upward under the push of the return spring 1314.
- the mounting base 13 can omit the handle 136 of the first embodiment.
- the drive pin 1315 is received in the second hole 2101 of the seat housing 2 and does not extend into the fourth hole 13013, and the drive block 1317 does not extend into the third hole 2101. Therefore, neither the drive pin 1315 nor the drive block 1317 interferes with the rotation of the seat housing 2 relative to the mounting base 13.
- the seat housing 2 can be locked in a forward or rearward position by means of the second locking mechanism 213 in the first embodiment.
- the first locking mechanism 131 shown in Figures 35 and 36 when the seat housing 2 is in the forward or rearward position, the drive pin 1315 is opposite to the fourth hole 13013, allowing the drive pin 1315 to move axially to push the locking member 1311 out of the locking part 1310 via the drive block 1317, thereby allowing adjustment of the tilt angle of the seat housing 2.
- the tilt angle of the seat housing 2 cannot be adjusted because the drive pin 1315 and the drive block 1317 are misaligned.
- Figures 37 to 40 illustrate a variant of the first locking mechanism 131 provided in the second embodiment of this disclosure.
- the third hole 2101 has a stepped hole (also called a stepped hole, or a locking part) 2101L.
- the hole 21011 is used to receive the upper end of the drive block 1317. When the seat housing 2 is in the forward or rearward position and the release member 1312 is not pressed, the upper end of the drive block 1317 extends into the hole 21011 and engages with the hole 21011.
- the drive block 1317 locks the rotation of the seat housing 2 relative to the mounting base 13.
- the locking member 1311 extends out and engages with the corresponding locking part 1310, and the tilt angle of the seat housing 2 is also locked.
- an external release force presses the release member 1312 along direction P, moving it a first stroke L1.
- the release member 1312 drives the drive pin 1315 downward via the traction rope 1313, and the drive pin 1315 is not inserted into the fourth hole 13013.
- the drive block 1317 is pushed downward by the drive pin 1315 and exits the hole 21011.
- the drive block 1317 cannot lock the rotation of the seat housing 2 relative to the mounting base 13, and the orientation of the seat housing 2 can be adjusted as needed.
- the drive block 1317 is pressed against the wall of the seat housing 2 and held within the fourth hole 13013, preventing it from protruding relative to the fourth hole 13013; and the drive pin 1315 is pressed against the wall of the mounting base 13 and held within the second hole 2101, preventing it from protruding relative to the hole 21011, thus not interfering with the rotation of the seat housing 2.
- the locking member 1311 retracts under the drive of the drive block 1317, a portion of the locking member 1311 remains engaged with the corresponding locking part 1310, and the tilt angle of the seat housing 2 remains locked.
- the lower edge of the hole 21011 is provided with a guide ramp (as shown in Figure 41 in the direction away from the paper) so that when the drive pin 1315 does not completely push the drive block 1317 out of the hole 21011, the drive block 1317 can be pushed out of the hole 21011 by rotating the seat housing 2, thereby increasing the fault tolerance of the release operation of the release member 1312.
- the release lock 1312 moves a first stroke L2 along direction P, where the first stroke L2 is greater than the first stroke L".
- the release lock 1312 drives the drive pin 1315 downward via the traction rope 1313, and the drive pin 1315 inserts into the fourth hole 13013 of the mounting base 13.
- the drive block 1317 is pushed downward by the drive pin 1315 and holds the exit hole 21011.
- the cooperation between the drive pin 1315 and the fourth hole 13013 restricts the rotation of the seat housing 2 relative to the mounting base 13, preventing adjustment of the seat housing 2's orientation.
