Definitions
- This disclosure relates to a lid for an all-solid-state battery container that seals a power-generating element in a vacuum or reduced-pressure state, an all-solid-state battery container having a lid, and an all-solid-state battery in which a power-generating element is housed in the all-solid-state battery container.
- a power generating element is housed in an internal space formed by a recessed container and a lid that covers the opening of the recessed container.
- Patent Document 1 discloses an electronic component package.
- the electronic component package hermetically seals the electronic component mounted inside by laser-melting the lid to a metal plating layer formed on the top of the container opening. Before the lid is fused, grooves are formed on the inner main surface of the lid, extending from opposing edges to the interior space of the container, and are laser-melted at least in a vacuum. This allows gas and moisture inside the package to be drawn out, solving the problem of ease of use when achieving the desired degree of vacuum inside the package.
- the electronic component package in Patent Document 1 does not consider lid (covering body) deflection caused by air pressure differences. That is, after being laser-welded in a vacuum, when the electronic component package housing an electronic component is released from the vacuum to the atmosphere, the pressure difference between the air pressure inside the package, which has the desired degree of vacuum, and atmospheric pressure could cause the lid to deflect toward the inside of the package, resulting in contact between the lid and the electronic component. Contact between the lid and the electronic component could compress the electronic component and adversely affect it, or cause malfunctions in the electrical circuit due to contact with metal parts of the electronic component.
- the lid also has a polarity, which could result in a short circuit between the lid and an external terminal with the opposite polarity to that of the lid during handling.
- the present disclosure aims to provide a lid for a container used in an all-solid-state battery that can minimize the amount of deflection while keeping the thickness as small as possible, a container for an all-solid-state battery, and an all-solid-state battery.
- the lid according to the present disclosure is a lid that covers an opening of a container body used in an all-solid-state battery.
- the lid is joined to the top surface of the opening of the container body via a seal ring, and includes, in a plan view, an overlapping region that overlaps with the seal ring and a central region that is rectangular in a plan view and surrounded by the overlapping region.
- d represents the length d (mm) of the diagonal of the central region in a plan view
- t represents the thickness (mm) of the central region
- E represents the Young's modulus (GPa) of the material of the central region 122
- c represents a predetermined coefficient.
- the coefficient c is calculated using the following formulas (2) to (4).
- a represents the length of the short side of the central region in a plan view
- b represents the length of the long side.
- the lid body disclosed herein can minimize the amount of deflection while keeping the thickness as small as possible.

- 7 is a perspective view of the lid of the electronic component shown in FIG. 6.

- the inventors considered making the thickness of the lid body of the container used in the all-solid-state battery relatively large.
- the lid body is made relatively large in thickness, for example, when the lid body and the open top of the container body are welded with a seal ring, the relatively thick lid body can hinder heating of the seal ring, resulting in insufficient welding between the lid body and the container body with the seal ring and reduced airtightness inside the container for electronic components.
- making the lid body relatively large in thickness also hinders the miniaturization of the all-solid-state battery.
- the inventors investigated a lid that can reduce the amount of deflection of the lid while keeping the thickness of the lid relatively small. After extensive research, the inventors discovered that for all-solid-state battery containers of various sizes and shapes, by considering the balance of various conditions such as the diagonal length, aspect ratio, and thickness of the lid, and the Young's modulus of the lid material, it is possible to reduce the amount of deflection of the lid while keeping its thickness small, and thus completed the present invention.
- a lid according to an embodiment of the present disclosure is a lid for covering an opening of a container body used in an all-solid-state battery.
- the lid is joined to the top surface of the opening of the container body via a seal ring, and includes, in plan view, an overlapping region that overlaps with the seal ring and a central region that is rectangular in plan view and is surrounded by the overlapping region.
- the central region satisfies the following formula (1).
- examples of the "joining" method include welding, fusion bonding, and adhesion.
- d represents the length (mm) of the diagonal of the central region in a plan view
- the central region has a greater thickness than the overlapping region.
- a step may be formed between the central region and the overlapping region on the main surface of the lid facing the container body due to the difference in thickness between the central region and the overlapping region.
- the thickness of the central region relatively large, the amount of deflection of the lid can be reduced.
- the seal ring can be sufficiently heated when joining the lid and the open top of the container body with a seal ring, thereby sufficiently joining the lid and the container body with the seal ring and ensuring sufficient airtightness inside the electronic component container.
- the step acts as a guide, making it easier to position the lid.
- the central region may have a step region rising substantially vertically from the outer peripheral edge of the central region.
- the overlapping region may extend continuously from the step region. This prevents the lid from expanding and deforming in the direction opposite to the electronic component body.
- the step region also serves as a guide, making it easier to position the lid.
- the lid may include a tapered region tapering toward a central region.
- the tapered region may be positioned between the overlapping region and the central region. This can prevent the lid from expanding and deforming in a direction opposite to the electronic component body.
- the tapered region also serves as a guide, making it easier to position the lid.
- a container for an all-solid-state battery includes a lid body having any one of configurations 1 to 4 and a container body having an opening covered by the lid body and accommodating a power-generating element in an internal space, thereby making it possible to reduce the amount of deflection of the lid body while reducing its thickness, and to prevent contact between the lid body and the power-generating element.
- the lid may have a deflection of 0.6 mm or less toward the inside of the container body. This reduces the deflection of the lid and prevents contact between the lid and the power-generating element. Therefore, the all-solid-state battery container can be suitably used as a container for an all-solid-state battery because it prevents contact between the lid and the power-generating element.
- An all-solid-state battery includes an all-solid-state battery container having the configuration 5 or 6 and a power-generating element housed in the all-solid-state battery container, thereby reducing the amount of deflection of the lid body and suppressing contact between the lid body and the power-generating element.
- the electronic component 1 has an electronic component container 10 and an electronic component main body 20 housed in the internal space of the electronic component container 10.
- the electronic component body 20 is the power-generating element of the all-solid-state battery. Therefore, the electronic component 1 is an all-solid-state battery.
- the electronic component body (power-generating element) 20 has a positive electrode layer 21, a negative electrode layer 22, and a solid electrolyte layer 23 disposed between the positive electrode layer 21 and the negative electrode layer 22.
- the container body 11 of the electronic component container 10 described below includes a positive electrode terminal (not shown) and a negative electrode terminal disposed spaced apart from the positive electrode terminal on its outer surface.
- the positive electrode layer 21 is connected to the positive electrode terminal via a positive electrode conductor (not shown).
- the negative electrode layer 22 is connected to the negative electrode terminal via a negative electrode conductor (not shown).
- the electronic component 1 is not limited to an all-solid-state battery, but may be any electronic component 1 including a sealed electronic component container 10.
- the electronic component body 20 is not limited to the power-generating element of a battery, but may be an outer can, a sealed can, or a flat battery including a power-generating element housed inside the can and the sealed can. In this disclosure, flat batteries are also described as power generating elements.
- the electronic component container 10 has a concave container body 11 and a lid body 12.
- the electronic component container 10 houses a power generating element inside, it can also be referred to as a container for an all-solid-state battery.
- the container body 11 is made of ceramic.
- the container body 11 includes a bottom 111 that is rectangular in plan view, and a side wall 112 that is rectangular and extends continuously from the outer periphery of the bottom 111, and has a cylindrical space inside for housing the electronic component body 20.
- the side wall 112 is arranged to extend approximately perpendicular to the bottom 111 in a vertical cross-sectional view.
- the material of the container body 11 is not particularly limited, and various materials can be used, such as resin, glass (borosilicate glass, glass ceramics, etc.), metal, and ceramics. It may also be a composite material in which ceramic or glass powder is dispersed in resin.
- the container body 11 is made of a metal material, it is preferable to coat the inner surface of the bottom 111 and the inner circumferential surface of the side wall 112 of the container body 11 with an insulating material such as a resin material or glass to ensure insulation between the container body 11 and the electronic component body 20.
- the container body 11 is not limited to a rectangular shape in a plan view, but may be a circular, elliptical, polygonal, or other shape.
- the internal space for accommodating the electronic component body 20 is not limited to a cylindrical shape, but may be formed into a polygonal cylindrical shape such as a rectangular cylindrical shape depending on the shape of the electronic component body 20.
- the lid 12 is a metal thin plate that is rectangular in plan view and covers the opening of the container body 11. As shown in Figures 1 and 2, the lid 12 is joined (seam welded) to the container body 11 by a square frame-shaped seal ring 13 that is arranged between the underside of the outer peripheral edge of the lid 12 and the top surface of the opening of the container body 11, i.e., the upper end surface of the side wall portion 112. This completely seals the internal space of the electronic component container 10.
- the internal space of the electronic component container 10 is preferably a vacuum atmosphere or an inert gas atmosphere such as nitrogen.
- the lid 12 is not limited to a metal thin plate as long as it can cover the opening of the container body 11.
- the lid 12 is not limited to a rectangular shape and can be variously modified, such as a circle, ellipse, or polygon, depending on the shape of the container body 11 in plan view.
- the lid 12 has an overlapping region 121 and a central region 122.
- the boundary between the overlapping region 121 and the central region 122 is indicated by a dashed line.
- the overlapping region 121 is the region that overlaps with the seal ring 13 in a plan view. Therefore, the overlapping region 121 is formed in the shape of a rectangular frame in a plan view. In this embodiment, the overlapping region 121 is the outer peripheral edge of the lid body 12. When the overlapping region 121 constitutes the outer peripheral edge of the lid body 12, the outer peripheral edge of the overlapping region 121 in a plan view has a shape that is the same as the outer peripheral edge of the lid body 12. On the other hand, when the central region 122 is formed continuously from the overlapping region 121, the inner peripheral edge of the overlapping region 121 in a plan view has a rectangular shape in a plan view.
- the central region 122 has a rectangular shape in a planar view.
- the central region 122 is an area surrounded by the overlapping region 121 in a planar view.
- the central region 122 satisfies the following formula (1).
- d 4/3 /t/E 1/3 /c ⁇ 120
- d represents the diagonal length (mm) of the central region 122 in a planar view
- t represents the thickness (mm) of the central region 122
- E represents the Young's modulus (GPa) of the material of the central region 122
- c represents a predetermined coefficient.
- the thickness t is an average thickness and can be determined as follows: First, the central region 122 is divided into four equal parts in the vertical and horizontal directions in a plan view, and the thicknesses of the nine intersections, excluding the outer periphery, are measured with a micrometer.
- the average value of the thicknesses at seven points, excluding the maximum and minimum values, is calculated, and this average value can be used as the thickness t.
- l is the common logarithm of the aspect ratio r, and can be calculated by log 10 r as shown in the following formula (3).
- l log10r (3)
- the aspect ratio r can be calculated by b/a, where a is the length of the short side of the central region 122 having a rectangular shape in a plan view and b is the length of the long side, as shown in the following formula (4).
- central region 122 by having central region 122 satisfy formula (1), it is possible to reduce the amount of deflection of lid body 12, i.e., the amount of displacement in the axial direction of the electronic component in lid body 12 (the up-down direction in the figure) (see deflection amount D in FIG. 4 ), while keeping the thickness of the lid body as small as possible. That is, from the viewpoint of reducing the amount of deflection D, it is preferable that the value obtained by the left side of formula (1) (d 4/3 /t/E 1/3 /c) be 120 or less. Furthermore, from the viewpoint of further reducing the amount of deflection D, it is preferable that the value obtained by the left side of formula (1) be 100 or less, more preferably 80 or less, and particularly preferably 60 or less.
- a rectangle is a quadrilateral with all corners at right angles, and as mentioned above, includes a square.
- the term "rectangle” also includes shapes with notched corners (chamfered shapes).
- at least one of the four corners of a central region 122 that is rectangular in plan view may be curved.
- the intersection of the curved corner and an imaginary line (shown by a dashed line in FIG. 3) extending from the adjacent side can be defined as a virtual corner of the rectangle.
- the lengths of the short side a and the long side b can each be the length of a line including the imaginary line.
- the length of the diagonal line d can be measured with the imaginary corner as one of its endpoints. This also applies to variations 1 to 3 of the electronic component, which will be described later.
- Electronic component 1 is manufactured by placing electronic component body 20 in the internal space of container body 11 in a vacuum or reduced-pressure environment, joining the open top surface of container body 11 to lid 12 via seal ring 13 to seal the internal space of electronic component container 10, and then opening the container from the vacuum or reduced-pressure environment to the atmosphere.
- lid 12 of electronic component container 10 deforms so as to bend toward the inside of electronic component container 10 (see Figure 4).
- the air pressure inside electronic component 1 is lower than standard atmospheric pressure.
- the electronic component 1 can form a gap between the lid 12 and the electronic component body 20, as shown in Figure 1. This prevents the lid 12 from coming into contact with the electronic component body 20, which could result in a decrease in functionality or damage to the electronic component body 20.
- the deflection amount D of the lid body 12 is preferably 0.6 mm or less, as shown in Figure 4.
- the deflection amount D of the lid body 12 can be kept to 0.6 mm or less while reducing the thickness of the lid body 12, thereby preventing contact between the lid body 12 and the electronic component body 20.
- a pressing member for pressing the electronic component body (power-generating element) 20 toward the bottom 111 of the container body 11 may be disposed between the lid body 12 and the electronic component body 20 inside the electronic component container 10. In this case, reducing the deflection amount D of the lid body 12 can prevent contact between the lid body 12 and the pressing member.
- the central region 122 of the lid 12 of the electronic component 1 of variant 1 has a thickness t that is greater than that of the overlapping region 121. This allows the amount of deflection of the lid 12 to be reduced. In other words, the thickness of the overlapping region 121 is smaller than the thickness of the central region 122.
- the seal ring 13 can be sufficiently heated when joining the lid 12 and the open top of the container body 11 with the seal ring 13. This allows the lid 12 and the container body 11 to be sufficiently joined by the seal ring 13, ensuring sufficient airtightness within the electronic component container 10.
- a step 12a is formed between the overlapping region 121 and the central region 122 on the main surface of the lid 12 corresponding to the container body 11 or the housed electronic component body 20.
- the step 12a is fitted along the inner surface of the seal ring 13, whereby the step 12a acts as a guide, making it easier to position the lid 12.
- the step 12a may be formed by a surface extending perpendicular to the underside of the overlapping region 121 or the underside of the central region 122.
- At least the lower end of the step 12a i.e., the end on the central region 122 side, may be formed by a tapered surface that slopes outward from the central region 122 side toward the overlapping region 121. This allows the step 12a to function more effectively as a guide when fitting the lid 12, making positioning easier.
- the central region 122 of the lid 12 of the electronic component 1 of Variation 2 has a stepped region 122a.
- the stepped region 122a is a sidewall formed to rise in a substantially vertical direction from the outer peripheral edge of the central region 122.
- the overlapping region 121 is formed to extend continuously from the upper end of the stepped region 122a.
- the step region 122a acts as a guide, making it easier to position the lid body 12.
- the step region 122a also prevents the lid body 12 from expanding and deforming upward, i.e., on the side opposite the electronic component body 20. This prevents the electronic component 1 from deforming outward.
- the central region 122 may have a thickness t greater than that of the overlap region 121.
- the lid 12 of the electronic component 1 of variant example 3 has a tapered region 123 between the overlapping region 121 and the central region 122.
- the outer peripheral edge of the tapered region 123 in a plan view has a shape that follows the inner peripheral edge of the overlapping region 121.
- the inner peripheral edge of the tapered region 123 in a plan view has a rectangular shape in a plan view.
- the tapered region 123 has a tapered shape that tapers toward the central region 122, and is an inclined surface that slopes downward from the overlapping region 121, i.e., toward the inside of the container body 11.
- the tapered region 123 acts as a guide when placing the lid 12 from above the seal ring 13, making it easier to position the lid 12.
- the tapered region 123 also prevents the lid 12 from expanding and deforming upward, i.e., toward the side opposite the electronic component body 20. This prevents the electronic component 1 from deforming outward.
- the central region 122 may have a thickness t greater than that of the overlapping region 121.
- the tapered region 123 may also have a thickness greater than that of the overlapping region 121.
- a step 12a may be provided between the overlapping region 121 and the tapered region 123 on the main surface of the lid 12 facing the container body 11.
- this invention can contribute to the achievement of Goal 7 of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which aims to "Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all," and Goal 12, which aims to "Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.”

Description
d4/3/t/E1/3/c≦120 (1)
c=1.43×l6+3.52×l4+4.81×l2+1 (2)
l=log10r (3)
r=b/a(ただし、1≦r≦10) (4)

r=b/a(ただし、1≦r≦10) (4)

c=1.43×l6+3.52×l4+4.81×l2+1 (2)
l=log10r (3)
r=b/a(ただし、1≦r≦10) (4)
d4/3/t/E1/3/c≦120 (1)
c=1.43×l6+3.52×l4+4.81×l2+1 (2)
l=log10r (3)
r=b/a(ただし、1≦r≦10) (4)
