Description

リードおよび非水電解質電池
 本開示は、リードおよび非水電解質電池に関する。本出願は、2023年7月6日出願の日本出願第2023-111431号に基づく優先権を主張し、前記日本出願に記載された全ての記載内容を援用するものである。
 特許文献1には、導体と封入容器との接着性を向上させるために、少なくとも1層のポリオレフィン骨格を有する樹脂層を備える金属端子用接着性フィルムを用いたタブリードが開示されている。この金属端子用接着性フィルムは、示差走査熱量計で測定した場合に、120℃以上156℃以下の範囲に融解ピークが観察される。

 本開示は、電解液に接した場合においても、絶縁フィルムと導体との接着力が優れたリードおよびそれを含む非水電解質電池を提供することを目的とする。
 本開示によれば、電解液に接した場合においても、絶縁フィルムと導体との接着力が優れたリードおよびそれを含む非水電解質電池を提供することが可能となる。
 最初に本開示の実施態様を列記して説明する。
 (1)本開示のリードは、導体と、前記導体の外周面の少なくとも一部を被覆する絶縁フィルムと、を備えるリードであって、前記絶縁フィルムは、前記導体の表面に接する第一層を含む複数の層を有し、前記第一層は、酸変性ポリオレフィン層であり、前記第一層を示差走査熱量計で0℃から250℃まで10℃/分で昇温して得られる融解ピーク温度と、昇温後250℃から0℃まで-10℃/分で降温して得られる結晶化ピーク温度との差は、34℃以下であり、前記融解ピーク温度および前記結晶化ピーク温度は、それぞれ、80℃以上170℃以下である。
 本開示によれば、電解液に接した場合においても、絶縁フィルムと導体との接着力が優れたリードおよびそれを含む非水電解質電池を提供することが可能となる。
 (2)上記(1)において、前記結晶化ピーク温度は、100℃以上120℃以下であってもよい。これによると、絶縁フィルムと導体との接着力が更に向上する。
 (3)上記(1)または(2)において、前記第一層は、結晶核剤を含んでもよい。これによると、絶縁フィルムと導体との接着力が更に向上する。
 (4)上記(3)において、前記結晶核剤は、ソルビトール系核剤、ノニトール系核剤、アミド系核剤、芳香族カルボン酸金属塩系核剤、リン酸エステル金属塩系核剤、および、タルクからなる群より選ばれる少なくとも1種を含んでもよい。これによると、絶縁フィルムと導体との接着力が更に向上する。
 これによると、絶縁フィルムと導体との接着力が更に向上する。
 (5)上記(1)から(4)のいずれかにおいて、前記第一層の25℃での貯蔵弾性率は、1000MPa以上1400MPa以下であってもよい。
 (6)上記(1)から(5)のいずれかにおいて、前記第一層の25℃での損失弾性率は、70MPa以上120MPa以下であってもよい。
 (7)本開示の非水電解質電池は、封入容器と、前記封入容器の内部から外部へ延びるように配置される上記(1)から(6)のいずれかに記載の複数のリードと、を備える非水電解質電池であって、前記封入容器は、最内樹脂層、金属層および最外樹脂層が前記の順に積層されたシート体から形成され、前記最内樹脂層と前記絶縁フィルムとが融着されている、非水電解質電池である。
 本開示によれば、電解液に接した場合においても、絶縁フィルムと導体との接着力が優れたリードを含む非水電解質電池を提供することが可能となる。
 [本開示の実施形態の詳細]
 本開示のリードおよび非水電解質電池の具体例を、以下に図面を参照しつつ説明する。本開示の図面において、同一の参照符号は、同一部分または相当部分を表すものである。また、長さ、幅、厚さ、深さなどの寸法関係は図面の明瞭化と簡略化のために適宜変更されており、必ずしも実際の寸法関係を表すものではない。
 本開示において、数値範囲の下限および上限として、それぞれ2つ以上の数値が記載されている場合は、下限に記載されている任意の1つの数値と、上限に記載されている任意の1つの数値との組み合わせも開示されているものとする。例えば、下限として、a1、b1、c1が記載され、上限としてa2、b2、c2が記載されている場合は、a1以上a2以下、a1以上b2以下、a1以上c2以下、b1以上a2以下、b1以上b2以下、b1以上c2以下、c1以上a2以下、c1以上b2以下、c1以上c2以下が開示されているものとする。
 [実施形態1:リード]
 図1は、本開示の一実施形態(以下「実施形態1」とも記す。)に係るリード1の斜視図である。図2は、本開示の一実施形態に係るリード1の部分断面図である。図1および図2に示されるように、本開示の一実施形態に係るリード1は、導体3と、導体3の外周面の少なくとも一部を被覆する絶縁フィルム5とを備える。絶縁フィルム5は、導体3の表面に接する第一層6を含む複数の層を有する。図2に示されるように、絶縁フィルム5は、導体3の表面に接する第一層6から順に、第一層6の表面に接する第二層7と、第二層7の表面に接する第三層8とを有してもよい。なお、導体3は、リード導体に該当する。
 図2では、絶縁フィルム5が第一層6、第二層7および第三層8を含む3層構造の形態が示されているが、絶縁フィルム5に含まれる層の数は3層に限定されない。絶縁フィルム5は、第一層6および第二層7を含む2層構造であってもよい。絶縁フィルム5は、第一層6、第二層7および第三層8に加えて、他の層を含んでもよい。
 <導体>
 導体3は、非水電解質電池の電極等に接続されるものである。導体3の材料としては、例えばアルミニウム、チタン、ニッケル、銅、アルミニウム合金、チタン合金、ニッケル合金、銅合金等の金属材料や、これら金属材料をニッケル、金等でメッキした材料などが挙げられる。導体3は電解質による腐食を防止するための表面処理が施されていてもよい。
 導体3の平均厚さが0.10mm以上である場合、電池としての実用上、十分な電流を流すことができる。導体3の平均厚さは、0.5mm以上であってよい。この場合、導体3に特に大きな電流を流すことができる。実使用上、導体3の平均厚さの上限は、3mmあれば十分である。本開示において、導体3の平均厚さは、導体の主面の法線方向に沿う断面における5点での厚さの測定値の平均値である。
 <絶縁フィルム>
 絶縁フィルム5は、リード1の絶縁フィルムとして用いられる。絶縁フィルム5は、複数の層を有し、導体3の外周面の少なくとも一部を被覆するように導体3の外周面に設けられている。
 絶縁フィルム5の平均厚さは、0.02mm以上である場合、導体3と封入容器11の間に空隙を生ぜずに絶縁フィルム5で充填して埋めることができる。絶縁フィルム5の平均厚さの上限は、0.30mmである。
 本開示において、絶縁フィルム5の平均厚さは、以下の手順で測定される。絶縁フィルム5の外周面のなかで、最も面積が大きい面の法線方向に沿って絶縁フィルム5をミクロトームなどで切断し、断面を露出させる。断面を、デジタルマイクロスコープを用いて250倍で観察し、絶縁フィルム5の厚さを5箇所測定する。5箇所の厚さの平均を算出する。該平均が、絶縁フィルム5の平均厚さに該当する。本開示において、後述の第一層6、第二層7、第三層8の平均厚さも同じ方法で測定される。
 同一の試料において測定する限りにおいては、絶縁フィルムの切断箇所を任意に設定しても、測定結果のばらつきはほとんどないことが確認された。
 <第一層の組成>
 第一層6は、酸変性ポリオレフィン層である。第一層6は、導体との接着性が良好であり、第二層7との接着性を十分に発揮することができる。
 酸変性ポリオレフィンとは、マレイン酸、アクリル酸、メタクリル酸、無水マレイン酸などのカルボン酸等で変性された、酸変性基を含むポリオレフィンである。酸変性ポリオレフィンは、酸変性ポリプロピレンでもよい。酸変性ポリオレフィンとしては、マレイン酸変性ポリプロピレン、アクリル酸変性ポリプロピレン、無水マレイン酸変性ポリプロピレン、アクリル酸変性ポリエチレン、無水マレイン酸変性ポリエチレン、アクリル酸変性エチレンアクリレートなどが挙げられる。
 第一層6は、酸変性ポリプロピレン層でもよい。これによると、第一層6は、金属との接着性およびシール性が優れる。第一層6が無水マレイン酸変性ポリプロピレン層でもよい。これによると、第一層6は金属との接着性およびシール性が非常に優れる。
 第一層6は、本開示の効果を損なわない限りにおいて、樹脂成分として酸変性ポリオレフィンとともに、無変性のポリオレフィンを含んでいてもよい。以下、酸変性ポリオレフィンおよび無変性のポリオレフィンをまとめてポリオレフィンとも記す。
 第一層6が酸変性基を含むことは、絶縁フィルム5に対してフーリエ変換赤外分光光度計(FT-IR)を用いて透過光分析を行うことにより確認することができる。
 第一層6の酸変性ポリオレフィンの含有率は、3質量%以上であってよい。導体との密着性の点で、酸変性ポリオレフィンの含有率が多くてよい。導体と十分密着する点で、酸変性ポリオレフィンが60質量%以上含まれてよい。
 酸変性ポリオレフィン層は、ゴム成分を含むことができる。酸変性ポリオレフィン層は、エチレンプロピレンラバー、エチレンブテンラバー、エチレンオクテンラバーおよびプロピレンブテンラバーからなる群より選択される少なくとも1種を含むことができる。中でも、エチレンプロピレンラバーは、酸変性ポリオレフィン、中でも酸変性ポリプロピレンに対する分散性が優れている。酸変性ポリオレフィン層がエチレンプロピレンラバーを含むと、絶縁フィルム5と導体との接着力がさらに向上する。
 実施形態1の第一層6は、本開示の効果を損なわない限りにおいて、結晶核剤、酸化防止剤、難燃剤、粘着付与剤、滑剤、充填剤、結晶化促進剤、着色剤のいずれか一以上を含んでもよい。
 <第一層の融解ピーク温度Tmおよび結晶化ピーク温度Tc>
 第一層6を示差走査熱量計で0℃から250℃まで10℃/分で昇温して得られる融解ピーク温度Tm[℃]と、昇温後250℃から0℃まで-10℃/分で降温して得られる結晶化ピーク温度Tc[℃]との差Tm-Tcは、34℃以下である。融解ピーク温度Tmおよび結晶化ピーク温度Tcは、それぞれ、80℃以上170℃以下である。第一層6が、80℃以上170℃以下の範囲に2以上の融解ピークを有する場合は、ピーク高さの最も大きい融解ピークの温度を融解ピーク温度Tmとする。第一層6が、80℃以上170℃以下の範囲に2以上の結晶化ピークを有する場合は、ピーク高さの最も大きい結晶化ピークの温度を結晶化ピーク温度Tcとする。
 融解ピーク温度Tmと結晶化ピーク温度Tcとの差Tm-Tcは、絶縁フィルム5と導体3との接着力向上の観点から、34℃以下である。第一層はポリオレフィンであるので、差Tm-Tcは25℃以上である。
 融解ピーク温度Tmは、130℃以上でもよい。融解ピーク温度Tmは、170℃以下でもよい。
 結晶化ピーク温度Tcは、80℃以上でもよい。結晶化ピーク温度Tcは、130℃以下でもよい。
 第一層6は、80℃以上170℃以下の範囲の融解ピークおよび結晶化ピークに加えて、80℃以上170℃以下の範囲外に融解ピークおよび結晶化ピークの一方または両方を有していてもよい。
 結晶化ピーク温度Tcを示す結晶化ピークの半値幅は、絶縁フィルム5と導体3との接着力向上の観点から、5.0℃以上でもよく、5.5℃以上でもよく、6.0℃以上でもよく、6.5℃以上でもよく、6.6℃以上でもよく、6.7℃以上でもよく、6.8℃以上でもよく、7.0℃以上でもよく、7.5℃以上でもよい。結晶化ピーク温度Tcを示す結晶化ピークの半値幅の上限は、例えば、10℃でもよい。本開示において、半値幅とは、半価全幅(FWHM:Full Width at Half Maximum)である。
 本開示において、第一層6の融解ピーク温度Tm、結晶化ピーク温度Tcおよび結晶化ピークの半値幅の測定は、示差走査熱量計を用いて、JIS K 7121-1987「プラスチックの転移温度測定方法」に準拠して行われる。具体的には、絶縁フィルム5から第一層6を取り出し、示差走査熱量計において、0℃から250℃まで10℃/分で昇温させて得られるDSC(Differential Scanning Calorimetry)曲線における80℃以上170℃以下の最大融解ピーク温度が第一層の融解ピーク温度Tmに該当する。昇温後250℃から0℃まで-10℃/分で降温させて得られるDSC曲線における80℃以上170℃以下の最大結晶化ピーク温度が、第一層の結晶化ピーク温度Tcに該当する。本開示において、結晶化ピーク温度Tcを示すピークの半値幅が、結晶化ピークの半値幅に該当する。
 <結晶核剤>
 第一層6は、結晶核剤を含んでもよい。結晶核剤としては、有機系結晶核剤および無機系結晶核剤が挙げられる。有機系結晶核剤としては、例えば、ソルビトール系核剤、ノニトール系核剤、アミド系核剤、芳香族カルボン酸金属塩系核剤、リン酸エステル金属塩系核剤が挙げられる。
 ソルビトール系結晶核剤としては、ジベンジリデンソルビトール(DBS)、モノメチルジベンジリデンソルビトール(例えば、1,3:2,4-ビス-O-(4-メチルベンジリデン)-D-ソルビトール)、ジメチルジベンジリデンソルビトール(例えば、1,3:2,4-ビス(3,4-ジメチルベンジリデン)ソルビトール(3,4-DMDBS))などが挙げられる。
 ノニトール系結晶核剤としては、1,2,3-トリデオキシ-4,6:5,7-ビス-[(4-プロピルフェニル)メチレン]-ノニトールなどが挙げられる。
 アミド系結晶核剤としては、1,3,5-トリス(2,2-ジメチルプロパンアミノ)ベンゼンなどが挙げられる。
 芳香族カルボン酸金属塩系核剤としては、安息香酸ナトリウムや、1,2-シクロヘキサンジカルボキシル酸カルシウム塩などが挙げられる。
 リン酸エステル金属塩系核剤としては、リン酸エステルナトリウム塩などが挙げられる。
 無機系結晶核剤としては、例えば、タルクが挙げられる。
 第一層6に含まれる結晶核剤は、ソルビトール系核剤、ノニトール系核剤、アミド系核剤、芳香族カルボン酸金属塩系核剤、リン酸エステル金属塩系核剤、および、タルクからなる群より選ばれる少なくとも1種を含んでもよい。第一層6に含まれる結晶核剤は、ソルビトール系結晶核剤であってもよい。
 第一層6が結晶核剤を含むことは、以下の手順で確認される。絶縁フィルム5から第一層6を取り出してサンプルを準備する。次に、第一層6から形成されるサンプルをクロロホルムやN―メチルピロリドン(NMP)、ジメチルスルホキシド(DMSO)などの有機溶媒に加熱(例えば120℃)および浸漬(例えば12時間)の一方または両方を行うことで結晶核剤を抽出した後、抽出前後のサンプルの凝固点をDSCで測定する。結晶核剤を抽出前のサンプルの凝固点温度が、結晶核剤を抽出後のサンプルの凝固点温度より高くなる(例えば4℃以上)場合、第1相6が結晶核剤を含むことが確認される。
 第一層6において、結晶核剤の含有率は、結晶核剤の種類によって適宜調整することができる。例えば、酸変性ポリオレフィンの合計質量に対する結晶核剤の質量の百分率の下限は、絶縁フィルム5と導体との接着力向上の観点から、0.30質量%でもよく、0.40質量%でもよく、0.50質量%でもよく、0.60質量%でもよく、1.0質量%でもよい。結晶核剤はフィルム中に異物として観察されないように分散されればよく、酸変性ポリオレフィンの合計質量に対する結晶核剤の質量の百分率は、例えば3.0質量%以下でもよい。酸変性ポリオレフィンの合計質量に対する結晶核剤の質量の百分率は、FT-IRもしくは液体クロマトグラフィーで測定される。
 <貯蔵弾性率および損失弾性率>
 第一層6の25℃での貯蔵弾性率は、絶縁フィルムが変形しにくいという観点から、1000MPa以上1400MPa以下でもよい。
 第一層6の25℃での損失弾性率は、絶縁フィルムが導体から剥がれにくいという観点から、70MPa以上120MPa以下でもよい。
 本開示において、第一層6の25℃での貯蔵弾性率および損失弾性率は、以下の手順で測定される。ナノインデンターにおいて、先端がダイヤモンドチップから形成される正三角錐の圧子(バーコビッチ圧子)を用いる。絶縁フィルム5の外周面のなかで、最も面積が大きい面である主面の法線方向に沿って絶縁フィルム5をミクロトームなどで切断し、Arイオンミリング加工により絶縁フィルム5の断面を露出させる。次に、ナノインデンター(Bruker製、ハイジトロンTI 980 ナノインデンター)を用い、絶縁フィルム5の断面に対して垂直方向に圧子を押し込み、動的粘弾性測定により貯蔵弾性率および損失弾性率を算出する。動的粘弾性測定は、8mNで圧子を押し込んだ状態で変位振幅が0.5nm以上2nm以下になるように調整し、測定周波数10Hz、25℃で試験を行う。
 上記の測定を3箇所で行い、3箇所の貯蔵弾性率の平均および3箇所の損失弾性率の平均を算出する。本開示において、3箇所の貯蔵弾性率の平均が、第一層6の貯蔵弾性率に該当する。本開示において、3箇所の損失弾性率の平均が、第一層6の損失弾性率に該当する。
 出願人が測定した限りでは、同一の試料において測定する限りにおいては、絶縁フィルムの切断箇所および測定箇所を任意に設定しても、貯蔵弾性率と損失弾性率の標準偏差はそれぞれ、値の2%以下、10%以下であり、測定結果のばらつきはほとんどないことが確認された。
 <第一層の平均厚さ>
 第一層6の平均厚さは、10μm以上でもよい。これによると導体と封入容器11の間に空隙を生ぜずに、絶縁フィルム5で充填して埋めることができる。第一層6の平均厚さの上限は、150μmでもよい。これによると大気中から絶縁フィルム5を透過して非水電解質電池の内部へ侵入する水分量が少なくなる。
 <第二層>
 絶縁フィルム5は、第一層6の表面に接し、第一層6を導体3とで挟むように設けられる第二層7を含んでもよい。実施形態1のリード1の絶縁フィルム5において、第二層7は耐熱性樹脂層である。第二層7は絶縁フィルム5の支持体としての機能を有する。
 第二層7を形成する耐熱性樹脂としては、例えば、架橋ポリオレフィン、または第一層6よりも10℃以上高融点のポリオレフィンが挙げられる。第二層7は、封入容器の開口部をヒートシールする際にヒートシール温度では溶融され難く、封入容器の金属層と導体3との短絡を防止できる。
 架橋ポリオレフィンとしては、融点が130℃以上155℃以下であり、メルトフローレート(MFR)が3g/10分以上15g/10分以下である架橋ランダムポリプロピレンが挙げられる。これにより、第二層7は、第一層6および、第三層8または封入容器との接着性を十分に発揮し、かつヒートシール温度で溶融され難い。
 高融点のポリオレフィンとしては、融点155℃以上の高融点のポリプロピレンが挙げられる。高融点のポリオレフィンとしては、ホモポリプロピレンや、ブロックポリプロピレン、熱可塑性オレフィンエラストマー(TPO)などが挙げられる。
 第二層7がポリオレフィンを含むことは、絶縁フィルム5の第二層7のみに対してフーリエ変換赤外分光光度計を用いて透過光分析を行うことにより確認することができる。絶縁フィルム5から第二層7を取り出して上述の透過光分析を行ってもよい。または、該第二層7に対してガスクロマトグラフィー質量分析法を用いて分析を行ってもよい。
 第二層7中の架橋ポリオレフィンの含有量の下限は、60質量%でもよい。実用上十分な耐熱性を得られる。第二層7中の架橋ポリオレフィンの含有量の上限は、100質量%でもよい。
 第二層7は、本開示の効果を損なわない限り、上記の架橋ポリオレフィン以外の熱可塑性樹脂を含有してもよく、他の公知の添加剤を含有してもよい。公知の添加剤としては、例えば酸化防止剤、難燃剤、粘着付与剤、滑剤、充填剤、結晶核剤、着色剤等が挙げられる。
 第二層7の平均厚さの下限は、10μmでもよい。これによると第二層7の強度が十分得られる。第二層7の平均厚さの上限は、250μmでもよい。これによると大気中から第二層7を透過して非水電解質電池の内部へ侵入する水分量が少なくなる。
 <第三層>
 絶縁フィルム5は、導体3の表面に接する第一層6から順に、第一層6の表面に接する第二層7と、第二層7の表面に接する第三層8とを含んでもよい。第三層8は、封入容器との接着性を向上させる役割を担う層である。
 第三層8を形成する樹脂としては、例えば、ポリオレフィン系樹脂、ポリエチレンテレフタレート、ポリアミドが挙げられる。これらの樹脂は、封入容器の開口部をヒートシール(熱融着)する際にヒートシール温度は溶融され易い樹脂である。第三層8を形成する樹脂は、ポリオレフィン系樹脂であってもよい。ポリオレフィン系樹脂は、ヒートシール温度で特に溶融され易い。
 ポリオレフィンとしては、ポリプロピレン、ポリエチレン、これらの誘導体等が挙げられる。ポリプロピレンとしては、融点が120℃以上155℃以下、MFRが3g/10分以上15g/10分以下であるランダムポリプロピレンが挙げられる。ポリオレフィンがランダムポリプロピレンであることによって、第二層7および封入容器の最内樹脂層との接着性を十分に発揮することができるという利点がある。
 第三層8中のポリオレフィンの含有量は、60質量%以上でもよい。これによると、実用上十分な材料特性を得られる。
 第三層8は、本開示の効果を損なわない限り、上記ポリオレフィン以外の熱可塑性樹脂を含有してもよい。より具体的には、第三層8は、複数の樹脂を含有していてもよく、これら複数の樹脂としては、ホモポリプロピレン、ブロックポリプロピレン、ランダムポリプロピレン、低結晶性ポリプロピレン、低密度ポリエチレン、直鎖低密度ポリエチレン、低結晶性エチレン-プロピレン共重合体、低結晶性エチレン-ブチレン共重合体、低結晶性エチレン-オクテン共重合体、低結晶性プロピレン-エチレン共重合体、エチレンプロピレンゴム、エチレンプロピレンジエンゴム等の組み合わせが挙げられる。
 第三層8は、本開示の効果を損なわない限り、他の公知の添加剤を含有してもよい。公知の添加剤としては、例えば酸化防止剤、難燃剤、粘着付与剤、滑剤、充填剤、結晶化促進剤、着色剤等が挙げられる。
 第三層8の平均厚さは、10μm以上でもよい。使用環境下での機械強度が十分である。第三層8の平均厚さの上限は、250μmでもよい。これによると大気中から第三層8を透過して非水電解質電池の内部へ侵入する水分量が少なくなる。
 <他の層>
 実施形態1において、絶縁フィルム5は、第一層6、第二層7および第三層8に加えて、一または複数の他の層を含むことができる。他の層としては、例えば、第二層と第三層の接着を強化する役割を担う層が挙げられる。一または複数の他の層の平均厚さはそれぞれ、5μm以上でもよい。
 本開示において、他の層は、難燃剤、紫外線吸収剤、光安定剤、熱安定剤、滑剤、着色剤等の各種添加剤を含むことができる。
 <リードの製造方法>
 実施形態1のリード1の製造方法の一例について、以下に説明する。
 第一層6、第二層7および第三層8のそれぞれの樹脂成分および添加剤を含む原料組成物をオープンロール、加圧ニーダー、単軸混合機、2軸混合機等の既知の混合装置を用いて混合する。次に、各層を作製する場合は、各層の原料組成物をTダイ成形、インフレーション成形等の押出成形をすることによってフィルム状の第一層6、第二層7および第三層8を作製することができる。そして、絶縁フィルム5は、第一層6、第二層7および第三層8の各層を重ね合わせ、熱ロールで熱ラミネートして貼り合せることにより作成する。また、複数の層を同時に形成する方法としては、共押出によるインフレーション法やTダイ法を用いることができる。さらに、単層で成膜したフィルムの上に溶融樹脂を積層する押出ラミネート法を用いることができる。
 [実施形態2:非水電解質電池]
 本開示の一実施形態(以下「実施形態2」とも記す。)に係る非水電解質電池は、実施形態1のリード1を備える。非水電解質電池としては、例えばリチウムイオン電池等の二次電池が挙げられる。
 図3は、実施形態1のリード1を備える非水電解質電池の一例を示す斜視図である。また、図4は非水電解質電池の一実施形態を模式的に表す部分断面図である。図3および図4に示す非水電解質電池10は、二次電池であり、図示しない板状の正極、板状の負極および非水電解質(例えば非水電解液)と、封入容器11と、複数の、具体的には2本のリード1とを備える。非水電解質電池10は、略方形の封入容器11と、封入容器11の内部から外部に延びる2本のリード1を有している。導体3と封入容器11とは、絶縁フィルム5を介して封入容器11のシール部13で接続されている。封入容器11は、正極、負極、セパレータおよび非水電解液を密封状態で収容する容器である。
 封入容器11は、2枚のシート体または折り曲げられた1枚のシート体の周囲で互いに熱溶着されてシール部13を形成し、密封状態となっている。
 2本のリード1において、一方のリード1は、その導体3の第一端部4aが封入容器11から露出し、第一端部4aと反対に位置する第二端部4bが封入容器11内の正極と接続されるように配置されている。他方のリード1は、その導体3の第一端部4aが封入容器11から露出し、第二端部4bが封入容器11内の負極と接続されるように配置されている。
 導体3の両端部分、すなわち第一端部4aおよび第二端部4bには、封入容器11の最内樹脂層27は設けられていない。正極と接続するリード1の導体3の第二端部4bには、ハンダ部15を介して内部接続用リード14が接続され、この内部接続用リード14によって、第二端部4bが、図示しない正極と電気的に接続される。また、負極と接続するリード1の導体3の第二端部4bには、ハンダ部15を介して内部接続用リード14が接続され、この内部接続用リード14によって、第二端部4bが、図示しない負極と電気的に接続される。図4に示されるように、導体3および絶縁フィルム5は、リード1の中間部分で封入容器11であるシート体に挟まれており、この部分において、封入容器11の最内樹脂層27とリード1の第三層8とが熱融着されている。
 封入容器11は、図4に示されるように、最内樹脂層27、金属層25および最外樹脂層26がこの順に積層されたシート体から形成されている。そして、2枚のシート体を重ね合わせて、導体3が貫通する辺以外の3辺をヒートシールしてシール部13が形成される。シール部13では、各シートの最内樹脂層27同士が溶着される。また、リード1があるシール部13では絶縁フィルム5と封入容器11とが接着される。この部分において、封入容器11の最内樹脂層27とリード1の第三層8とが熱融着されている。
 最内樹脂層27は、金属層25の内面に直接または間に接着層等を介して積層される。最内樹脂層27には電池内の電解質に溶解せず、また加熱して溶融する絶縁性樹脂を用いてもよい。最内樹脂層27としては、例えばポリオレフィン、酸変性ポリオレフィン、酸変性スチレン系エラストマー等を用いることができる。最内樹脂層27としては、これらの中でもポリプロピレンを用いてよい。また、最内樹脂層27の平均厚さは、10μm~500μm程度でもよい。つまり、最内樹脂層27の平均厚さ下限が10μm程度、上限が500μm程度でもよい。
 実施形態2の非水電解質電池10は、実施形態1のリード1を用いているため、電解液に接した状態においても、絶縁フィルム5と導体3との接着力が優れている。
 [非水電解質電池の製造方法]
 非水電解質電池10の製造方法は、例えば、リード1を準備する工程と、積層電極群を準備する工程と、非水電解質を準備する工程と、リード1が接続された積層電極群および非水電解質を封入容器11に収容する工程とを備える。
 実施形態2の非水電解質電池10は、上述したリード1を備えるため、導体3と絶縁フィルム5との接着性に優れ、この部分(導体と封入容器の間)から水分が電池内に浸入したり、非水電解質が電池から液漏れすることを防止できる。
 [その他の実施形態]
 実施形態1および実施形態2においては、リード1が第一層6、第二層7および第三層8を有する3層構造の絶縁フィルム5を備えているが、リード1は、第一層6および第二層7を有する2層構造でもよく、第一層6と第二層7との間に1層以上の中間層を有する多層構造の絶縁フィルム5を備えていてもよい。
 本実施の形態を実施例によりさらに具体的に説明する。ただし、これらの実施例により本実施の形態が限定されるものではない。
 [第一層原料組成物の作製]
 導体として、長さ50mm、幅50mm、厚さ0.5mmのアルミニウム板を準備した。
 第一層の原料として、ゴム成分が30質量パーセント含有された酸変性ポリプロピレン(表1において「酸変性ポリプロピレン」と記す。)に、ソルビトール系結晶核剤である1,3:2,4-ビス-O-(4-メチルベンジリデン)-D-ソルビトール(表1において「結晶核剤」と記す。)を添加および混錬して、第一層原料組成物を準備した。第一層原料組成物は、酸変性ポリプロピレンと結晶核剤の混合物である。試料1から試料6の各試料における酸変性ポリプロピレン100質量%に対するソルビトール系結晶核剤の配合量は表1の「第一層原料」の「結晶核剤」欄に示される通りである。例えば、試料3では、酸変性ポリプロピレン100質量%に対して、結晶核剤を0.3質量%添加した。
 [第一層の評価]
 <融解ピーク温度Tm、結晶化ピーク温度Tcおよび結晶化ピークの半値幅>
 第一層原料組成物のみからなるフィルム試料(表1に記載の試料1から試料6の各試料)について、融解ピーク温度Tm、結晶化ピーク温度Tcおよび結晶化ピーク温度Tmの半値幅を示差走査熱量計で測定した。ここで、「のみからなる」とは不可避不純物を含んでもよく、以後の「のみからなる」も同じ意味を示す。具体的な測定方法は、実施形態1に記載の通りである。結果を表1の「第一層」の「Tm」、「Tc」、「結晶化ピーク半値幅」欄に示す。融解ピーク温度Tmと結晶化ピーク温度Tcとの差Tm-Tcを表1の「Tm-Tc」欄に示す。
 以下のフィルム試料7からフィルム試料9を準備し、これらのTm-Tcを測定した。各フィルム試料の組成と、Tm-Tcを以下に示す。
 フィルム試料7:上記酸変性ポリプロピレン100質量%に対して、上記結晶核剤を1.0質量%添加した組成物のみからなるフィルム試料。Tm-Tcは29.5℃。
 フィルム試料8:上記酸変性ポリプロピレン100質量%に対して、上記結晶核剤を3.0質量%添加した組成物のみからなるフィルム試料。Tm-Tcは29.3℃。
 フィルム試料9:上記酸変性ポリプロピレン100質量%に対して、上記結晶核剤を5.0質量%添加した組成物のみからなるフィルム試料。Tm-Tcは30.0℃。

 <貯蔵弾性率および損失弾性率>
 試料1と試料5の第一層原料組成物のみからなるフィルム試料について、25℃での貯蔵弾性率および損失弾性率を、ナノインデンターを用いて測定した。具体的な測定方法は、実施形態1に記載の通りである。
 貯蔵弾性率は試料1では1256MPaであり、試料5では1305MPaであった。損失弾性率は試料1では97MPaであり、試料5では107MPaであった。
 [剥離強度試験用試料の作製]
 第一層および第二層をそれぞれ押出し成形して成膜した。第二層はポリプロピレンを主成分とする架橋された絶縁フィルムとした。第一層と第二層を貼り合わせて絶縁フィルムを得た。絶縁フィルムの厚さは100μmであった。
 絶縁フィルムを切断して、長さ70mm、幅10mmのサイズの2枚の絶縁フィルム(第1絶縁フィルムおよび第2絶縁フィルム)を準備した。導体を第1絶縁フィルムおよび第2絶縁フィルムで挟み、金型温度220℃、面圧0.3MPaの条件でヒートシールを行った。この際、絶縁フィルムの第一層が導体に接するように配置した。これにより、導体の外周面の少なくとも一部が絶縁フィルムで被覆された各試料の剥離強度試験用試料を得た。
 <剥離強度試験>
 リチウムイオン電池電解液に、純水を質量基準で100ppmの濃度となるように添加して、試験用溶液を得た。各試料の剥離強度試験用試料を、試験用溶液に浸漬して48時間保持した。試験用溶液の温度は60℃に維持した。48時間経過後に、各試料の剥離強度試験用試料を試験用溶液から取り出し、リチウムイオン電池電解液で洗浄し、1時間室温で乾燥後、剥離強度試験を以下の手順で行った。
 剥離強度試験用試料の絶縁フィルムの主面の法線方向に沿って、第2絶縁フィルムおよび導体を切断した。この際、第1絶縁フィルムは切断しない。第2絶縁フィルムおよび導体を切断した位置で、剥離強度試験用試料を第1絶縁フィルム同士が対向するように折り返した。
 引張試験機のチャックの間隔を20mmとし、ヤスリ目のついた金属製平板チャック治具を用いて、上側チャックでは折り返した導体の端部を把持し、下側チャックでは残りの導体の端部を把持し、180°剥離になるように上側チャックを動作させ、剥離速度50mm/分および引張距離30mmで剥離試験を行い、変位量と剥離強度との関係を測定した。引張強度の読み取り値が安定した変位の範囲(約5mm以上30mm以下)における剥離強度の平均値を算出した。試料1の剥離強度試験用試料の剥離強度の平均値を基準(=1.00)とした場合の、各試料の剥離強度試験用試料の剥離強度の平均値の相対値を表1の「絶縁フィルム」の「剥離強度相対値」欄に示す。相対値の値が大きいほど、導体と絶縁フィルム(第1絶縁フィルム)との接着力が高いことを示す。
 [考察]
 試料3から試料6の剥離強度試験用試料は実施例に該当する。試料1および試料2の剥離強度試験用試料は比較例に該当する。試料3から試料6の剥離強度試験用試料は、第一層の融解ピーク温度Tmと結晶化ピーク温度Tcとの差Tm-Tcが34度以下である。試料3から試料6の剥離強度試験用試料は、試料1および試料2の剥離強度試験用試料よりも、電解液に接した場合においても、導体と絶縁フィルムとの接着力が高いことが確認された。
 絶縁フィルムにおいて、貯蔵弾性率または損失弾性率が大きいものほど接着力が大きいと考えられる。
 以上のように本開示の実施の形態および実施例について説明を行なったが、上述の各実施の形態および実施例の構成を適宜組み合わせたり、様々に変形することも当初から予定している。
 今回開示された実施の形態および実施例はすべての点で例示であって、制限的なものではないと考えられるべきである。本発明の範囲は上記した実施の形態および実施例ではなく請求の範囲によって示され、請求の範囲と均等の意味、および範囲内でのすべての変更が含まれることが意図される。

Claims (7)

  1.  導体と、前記導体の外周面の少なくとも一部を被覆する絶縁フィルムと、を備えるリードであって、
     前記絶縁フィルムは、前記導体の表面に接する第一層を含む複数の層を有し、
     前記第一層は、酸変性ポリオレフィン層であり、
     前記第一層を示差走査熱量計で0℃から250℃まで10℃/分で昇温して得られる融解ピーク温度と、昇温後250℃から0℃まで-10℃/分で降温して得られる結晶化ピーク温度との差は、34℃以下であり、
     前記融解ピーク温度および前記結晶化ピーク温度は、それぞれ、80℃以上170℃以下である、リード。
  2.  前記結晶化ピーク温度は、100℃以上120℃以下である、請求項1に記載のリード。
  3.  前記第一層は、結晶核剤を含む、請求項1または請求項2に記載のリード。
  4.  前記結晶核剤は、ソルビトール系核剤、ノニトール系核剤、アミド系核剤、芳香族カルボン酸金属塩系核剤、リン酸エステル金属塩系核剤、および、タルクからなる群より選ばれる少なくとも1種を含む、請求項3に記載のリード。
  5.  前記第一層の25℃での貯蔵弾性率は、1000MPa以上1400MPa以下である、請求項1から請求項4のいずれか1項に記載のリード。
  6.  前記第一層の25℃での損失弾性率は、70MPa以上120MPa以下である、請求項1から請求項5のいずかれ1項に記載のリード。
  7.  封入容器と、前記封入容器の内部から外部へ延びるように配置される請求項1から請求項6のいずれか1項に記載の複数のリードと、を備える非水電解質電池であって、
     前記封入容器は、最内樹脂層、金属層および最外樹脂層がこの順に積層されたシート体から形成され、
     前記最内樹脂層と前記絶縁フィルムとが融着されている、非水電解質電池。
