- FIG. 1 When a painting operation is performed on a workpiece 200, a plurality of painting robots 10 are positioned between the workpieces 200. Then, each of the plurality of painting robots 10 performs a painting operation on the workpiece 200 with the extension amount L1 of the JT7 joint adjusted. For example, when the painting robot 10 paints the Z1 side of the workpiece 200, the extension amount L1 of the JT7 joint is made small. Also, as shown in FIG. 6, when the painting robot 10 paints the Z2 side of the workpiece 200, the extension amount L1 of the JT7 joint is made large. That is, the extension amount L1 of the JT7 joint is adjusted according to the height of the part to be painted.
- the distance W between the painting robots 10 arranged side by side is equal to or less than the distance L3 from the axis of the JT1 joint to the end of the movable range of the painting robot 10 when the JT7 joint is retracted as shown in FIG. 7.
- the distance W between the painting robots 10 arranged side by side means the distance W in the X direction between the axes of the JT1 joints of the painting robots 10.
- the end of the movable range means, for example, the farthest end that can be reached by the point where the axis of the JT4 joint and the axis of the JT5 joint intersect in the direction away from the axis of the JT1 joint.
- the joint includes a JT7 joint that is disposed on at least one of the base arm portion 12 and the tip arm portion 13 and expands and contracts at least one of the base arm portion 12 and the tip arm portion 13.
- a JT7 joint that is disposed on at least one of the base arm portion 12 and the tip arm portion 13 and expands and contracts at least one of the base arm portion 12 and the tip arm portion 13.
- at least one of the base arm portion 12 and the tip arm portion 13 contracts, so that the overall length of at least one of the base arm portion 12 and the tip arm portion 13 is reduced. Therefore, interference between the painting robots 10 can be suppressed more effectively than when at least one of the base arm portion 12 and the tip arm portion 13 is bent.
- the painting robots 10 can be arranged closer together, so that the painting robots 10 can be arranged in a smaller arrangement area.
- the tip arm portion 13 can be extended by the JT7 joint, so that painting work can be performed on a distant workpiece 200.
- At least one of the multiple painting robots 10 includes a 7-axis vertical articulated painting robot 10 having a JT7 joint. This allows the 7-axis vertical articulated painting robots 10 to be arranged closer together in a painting robot system 100 that includes multiple 7-axis vertical articulated painting robots 10.
- Each of the multiple painting robots 10 includes a JT7 joint. This allows the seven-axis vertical articulated painting robots 10 to be arranged closer together than when only some of the multiple painting robots 10 include JT7 joints.
- Multiple workpieces 200 are arranged along the X direction, and when painting work is performed on the workpieces 200, the multiple painting robots 10 each perform painting work on the workpieces 200 with the amount of expansion and contraction of the JT7 joint adjusted between the workpieces 200. This allows the painting robots 10 to accurately perform painting work, as the amount of expansion and contraction of the JT7 joint is adjusted.
- the painting robot 10 includes a base portion 11 to which the base end of the base arm portion 12 is connected and which rotates the base arm portion 12 around the axis of the JT1 joint.
- the distance W between the painting robots 10 arranged side by side is equal to or less than the distance L3 from the axis of the JT1 joint to the end of the movable range of the painting robot 10 when the JT7 joint is in a contracted state. This reduces the distance W between the painting robots 10, so that the painting robots 10 can be arranged reliably close to each other.
- Multiple painting robots 10 are arranged along the X direction. This allows the painting robots 10 to easily perform painting work on each of the multiple workpieces 200 arranged along the X direction.
- the distal arm 13 has a distal arm base end portion 13a whose base end is connected to the base end arm 12, and a distal arm tip portion 13b whose tip is connected to the wrist portion 14 and moved relative to the distal arm base end portion 13a by the JT7 joint.
- a distal arm tip portion 13b which is a part of the distal arm portion 13 moves toward the workpiece 200. Because of this, the size of the distal arm tip portion 13b approaching the workpiece 200 is relatively small, so painting work can be performed with the distance between the distal arm tip portion 13b and the workpiece 200 relatively large. As a result, interference between the distal arm portion 13 and the workpiece 200 can be suppressed.
- the maximum extension amount L1 of the distal arm portion 13 is greater than the length L2 of the distal arm tip portion 13b when the distal arm portion 13 is retracted. This makes the extension amount L1 of the distal arm portion 13 relatively large, allowing painting work to be carried out at a more distant position.
- the configuration of a painting robot 110 according to the second embodiment will be described.
- the arrangement position of the JT7 joint is different from that of the painting robot 10 according to the first embodiment.
- the painting robot 110 is an example of a robot.
- the JT7 joint is disposed in the base arm section 112 and extends and retracts the base arm section 112.
- the base arm section 112 has a base arm base end portion 112a and a base arm tip portion 112b.
- the base end of the base arm base end portion 112a is connected to the base unit 11.
- the tip of the base arm tip portion 112b is connected to the tip arm section 13 and is moved relative to the base arm base end portion 112a by the JT7 joint.
- the base arm base end portion 112a and the base arm tip portion 112b both have a cylindrical shape.
- the base arm tip portion 112b is inserted inside the base arm base end portion 112a, and the base arm tip portion 112b is inserted and removed from the base arm base end portion 112a. This causes the base arm section 112 to extend and retract.
- the tip arm 113 of the painting robot 110 does not extend or retract.
- the painting robot 110 has the joints arranged in the following order from the base end to the tip: JT1 joint, JT2 joint, JT7 joint, JT3 joint, JT4 joint, JT5 joint, and JT6 joint.
- the extension amount L11 of the base-end arm portion 112 will be described.
- the maximum extension amount L11 of the base-end arm portion 112 is greater than the length L12 of the base-end arm tip portion 112b when the base-end arm portion 112 is in a contracted state.
- the length L12 of the base-end arm tip portion 112b refers to the length of the portion of the base-end arm tip portion 112b that extends beyond the base-end arm base portion 112a when the base-end arm portion 112 is in its most contracted state.
- the extension amount L11 of the base-end arm portion 112 refers to the maximum length that the base-end arm tip portion 112b extends beyond the length L12.
- the painting robot 110 includes a base 11 to which a base end of a base arm 112 is connected and which rotates the base arm 112 about the axis of a joint JT1.
- the base arm 112 has a base arm base portion 112a whose base end is connected to the base 11, and a base arm tip portion 112b whose tip is connected to the tip arm 13 and which is moved relative to the base arm base portion 112a by the JT7 joint.
- the JT7 joint is disposed closer to the base end of the painting robot 110, and therefore the painting robot 110 can be disposed more stably than when the JT7 joint is disposed closer to the tip of the painting robot 110.
- the maximum extension amount L11 of the base-end arm portion 112 is greater than the length L12 of the base-end arm tip portion 112b when the base-end arm portion 112 is in a contracted state. This makes the extension amount L11 of the base-end arm portion 112 relatively large, allowing painting work to be performed at a more distant position.

Abstract
Description

メイン制御部15a、および、サーボ制御部15bは、たとえば、CPU(Central Processing Unit)を含む。
