This can produce a reaction product, in particular a chemical compound such as hydrogen, oxygen and/or nitrogen.
- the photoactive component is a filter element for cleaning a medium or a photolysis cell for splitting a component of the medium.
- the medium is in particular a fluid, for example a liquid or a gas.
- the medium can contain other components such as impurities, for example in the form of particles, germs, pollutants and/or microplastics, or be free from contamination.
- the medium is ammonia, water, contaminated water or contaminated air.
- the photoactive component comprises a spatial volume that is delimited by side surfaces.
- the spatial volume is in particular a three-dimensional space that is surrounded by side surfaces.
- the side surfaces can comprise side walls and/or boundaries that partially or completely cover the side surfaces.
- the side surfaces can also be partially or completely free of side walls and/or boundaries.

- a semipermeable membrane has the property of being semipermeable or partially permeable. In other words, a semipermeable membrane only allows part of the mixture that hits it to pass through and holds back the rest of the mixture. In particular, a semipermeable membrane is only permeable to molecules below a certain molecular weight or to colloids or particles below a certain size. For example, a semipermeable membrane is permeable to the medium and its components, but not to particles located in the photoactive component.

- the diameter of the largest pore is smaller than the diameter of the smallest photocatalytic particle.
- the diameter of the pores is a function of the diameter of the photocatalytic particles such that the diameter of the photocatalytic particles determines the diameter of the pores for localization of the photocatalytic particles in the spatial volume.
- the smaller the photocatalytic particles are the smaller the pores in the semipermeable membrane so that the photocatalytic particles cannot pass through the semipermeable membrane.
Raumvolumens zumindest teilweise bedecken .
