Definitions

  • This disclosure relates to a cover tape for packaging electronic components and a package using the same.
  • taping packaging electronic components such as ICs, resistors, transistors, diodes, capacitors, and piezoelectric resistors are packaged in taping for surface mounting.
  • electronic components are stored in a carrier tape that has multiple storage compartments for storing the electronic components, and then the carrier tape is heat sealed with a cover tape to obtain a package for storing and transporting the electronic components.
  • cover tape is peeled off from the carrier tape, and the electronic components are automatically removed and surface mounted on the board.
  • the cover tape is also called top tape.
  • static electricity may be generated by friction or contact between the electronic components and the carrier tape or cover tape.
  • Static electricity may also be generated by peeling the cover tape off the carrier tape when mounting the electronic components. Static electricity may cause the electronic components to adhere to the cover tape during mounting, making it impossible to properly remove the electronic components, or causing the electronic components to jump out of the carrier tape's storage section. This leads to a decrease in mounting efficiency.
  • static electricity may cause deterioration and destruction of the electronic components. Therefore, various antistatic cover tapes have been proposed to suppress the generation of static electricity (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
  • the package In taping packaging, the package is usually wound up with the carrier tape on the inside and the cover tape on the outside, and then stored and transported with a seal affixed to the end where the winding ends.
  • the seal is a temporary fixing tape that is peeled off when the package is unwound.
  • the seal is also called end tape.
  • the antistatic layer is known to contain an antistatic agent and a binder resin.
  • a highly polar resin is sometimes used as the binder resin to improve adhesion to the base layer.
  • An antistatic layer containing a binder resin also has poor slipperiness, low surface roughness and good flatness. This tends to result in stronger adhesion between the end tape and the cover tape.
  • This disclosure was made in consideration of the above circumstances, and aims to provide a cover tape for packaging electronic components that has high antistatic properties and allows the end tape to be easily peeled off.
  • the inventors of the present disclosure conducted extensive research into the peeling performance of an end tape in a cover tape having a heat seal layer on one side of a base layer and an antistatic layer on the other side of the base layer.
  • Surfactants such as quaternary ammonium salts are commonly used as antistatic agents. Such surfactants tend to bleed out easily. As a result, they can inadvertently achieve light peeling and improve the peeling performance of the end tape.
  • cover tapes are usually stored in a rolled up state. As a result, during storage, some of the surfactant contained in the antistatic layer may migrate to the heat seal layer, causing a decrease in antistatic performance and heat seal performance. Therefore, when using a surfactant as an antistatic agent, it is difficult to satisfy all of the antistatic performance, heat seal performance, and end tape peeling performance.
  • Conductive polymers are also known as antistatic agents. Conductive polymers are less likely to bleed out. This makes it possible to prevent deterioration of antistatic performance and heat sealing performance during storage. However, because conductive polymers do not bleed out, the peeling force of the end tape tends to be high. Therefore, even when using conductive polymers as antistatic agents, it is difficult to satisfy all of the antistatic performance, heat sealing performance, and end tape peeling performance requirements.

Description

 上記「A.
Figure JPOXMLDOC01-appb-T000001
