- the CPU 64 executes an estimation process for estimating the condition of the tire 14 in accordance with the application program 28.
- the estimation process is an example of a process related to the technology of the present disclosure.
- the estimation process is realized by the CPU 64 operating as an acquisition unit 80, a determination unit 82, an estimation unit 84, and an output unit 86 in accordance with the application program 28.
- the acquisition unit 80 acquires the lateral acceleration and vertical acceleration of the vehicle 12 detected by the acceleration sensor 58 while the user terminal 16 is fixed to the vehicle 12.
- the acquisition unit 80 also acquires the position of the vehicle 12 detected by the positioning unit 60.
- the lateral acceleration and vertical acceleration of the vehicle 12 acquired by the acquisition unit 80 are stored in the RAM 68 in a state associated with the position of the vehicle 12 acquired by the acquisition unit 80.
- the determination unit 82 Every time the position of the vehicle 12 is acquired by the acquisition unit 80, the determination unit 82 compares the position of the vehicle 12 with a default position that has been determined in advance as a position for estimating the state of the tires 14, and determines whether the position of the vehicle 12 is at the default position.
- the position of the vehicle 12 is specified by, for example, latitude, longitude, and altitude.
- the default position can be set arbitrarily. If the determination unit 82 determines that the position of the vehicle 12 is not at the default position (i.e., the vehicle 12 has not reached the default position), the acquisition unit 80 again acquires the lateral acceleration, vertical acceleration, and position of the vehicle 12.
- the estimation unit 84 operates as follows.
- the estimation unit 84 extracts the lateral acceleration and vertical acceleration of the vehicle 12 obtained during a fixed section of movement (hereinafter also simply referred to as the "fixed section of movement") until the vehicle 12 moves to a predetermined position from the lateral acceleration and vertical acceleration of the vehicle 12 stored in the RAM 68.
- the length of the fixed section of movement can be set arbitrarily. For example, the length of the fixed section of movement is set to several meters to several hundred meters.
- the road may be horizontal so that the vehicle does not tilt due to an inclination of the road. Also, during the fixed section of movement, the road may be straight so that the vehicle does not tilt due to centrifugal force acting on the vehicle.
- the estimation unit 84 calculates the roll angle ⁇ (see FIG. 4 ) of the vehicle 12 based on the extracted lateral acceleration and vertical acceleration.
- the roll angle ⁇ is calculated by the following formula (1).
- the estimation unit 84 calculates the roll angle ⁇ for each of multiple positions within a certain movement section, and calculates the average value of the roll angles ⁇ , where a L is the lateral acceleration and a V is the vertical acceleration.
- the roll angle ⁇ is an example of an angle related to the technology of the present disclosure, and the average value is an example of a representative value related to the technology of the present disclosure.
- the calculation is an example of the derivation related to the technology of the present disclosure.
- ⁇ arctan(a L /a V )...(1)
- the storage 70 stores in advance default roll angles ⁇ 1 and ⁇ 2 that are determined in advance in correspondence with the default position.
- the default roll angles ⁇ 1 and ⁇ 2 are roll angles of the vehicle 12 obtained at the default position when the state of the tire 14 is normal.
- the normal state of the tire 14 means, for example, a state in which the tire 14 is new and the air pressure of the tire 14 is a specified value.
- the default roll angle ⁇ 1 is a roll angle obtained by adding 2 ⁇ to the average value of the roll angles obtained in a certain moving section
- the default roll angle ⁇ 2 is a roll angle obtained by subtracting 2 ⁇ from the average value of the roll angles obtained in a certain moving section.
- 2 ⁇ is used, but 3 ⁇ or the like may be used.
- ⁇ is a standard deviation.
- the default roll angles ⁇ 1 and ⁇ 2 are examples of default angles related to the technology of the present disclosure.
- the estimation unit 84 compares the average value of the roll angle ⁇ with the default roll angles ⁇ 1 and ⁇ 2 . Then, based on the result of the comparison, the estimation unit 84 estimates a state related to the air pressure of the tire 14 as an example of the state of the tire 14. Specifically, when the average value of the roll angle ⁇ is equal to or greater than the default roll angle ⁇ 2 and equal to or less than the default roll angle ⁇ 1 , the estimation unit 84 estimates that the air pressure of the tire 14 is normal. On the other hand, when the average value of the roll angle ⁇ is greater than the default roll angle ⁇ 1 or is less than the default roll angle ⁇ 2 , the estimation unit 84 estimates that the air pressure of the tire 14 is abnormal. Estimation is an example of derivation related to the technology disclosed herein.
- the estimation unit 84 may identify the direction in which the vehicle 12 tilts based on the roll angle ⁇ , and estimate that the air pressure of the tire 14 in the direction in which the vehicle 12 tilts, among the multiple tires 14 provided on the vehicle 12, is abnormal. Furthermore, the estimation unit 84 may estimate that the air pressure of the tire 14 is abnormal only when the average value of the roll angle ⁇ is lower than the default roll angle ⁇ 2 .
- the output unit 86 outputs data indicating the estimation result estimated by the estimation unit 84 to the display 54 and the speaker 56. As a result, an image indicating the estimation result is displayed on the display 54, and a sound indicating the estimation result is output from the speaker 56.
- the output unit 86 may not output data indicating the estimation result to the display 54 and the speaker 56 when the air pressure of the tire 14 is normal, and may output data indicating the estimation result to the display 54 and the speaker 56 only when the air pressure of the tire 14 is abnormal. Also, the output unit 86 may output data indicating the estimation result to only one of the display 54 and the speaker 56.
- FIG. 5 shows the flow of the estimation process according to this embodiment.
- the acquisition unit 80 acquires the lateral acceleration and vertical acceleration of the vehicle 12 detected by the acceleration sensor 58 with the user terminal 16 fixed to the vehicle 12.
- the acquisition unit 80 also acquires the position of the vehicle 12 detected by the positioning unit 60.
- step ST12 the determination unit 82 compares the position of the vehicle 12 with a default position that has been determined in advance as a position for estimating the state of the tires 14, and determines whether the position of the vehicle 12 is at the default position. If the determination unit 82 determines that the position of the vehicle 12 is not at the default position (i.e., the vehicle 12 has not reached the default position), the estimation process proceeds to step ST10. On the other hand, if the determination unit 82 determines that the position of the vehicle 12 is at the default position (i.e., the vehicle 12 has reached the default position), the estimation process proceeds to step ST14.
- step ST14 the estimation unit 84 calculates the roll angle ⁇ for each of a plurality of positions within a certain movement section, and calculates the average value of the roll angles ⁇ . Then, the estimation unit 84 estimates the state of the tire 14 related to the air pressure, as an example of the state of the tire 14, based on a result of comparing the average value of the roll angles ⁇ with the predetermined default roll angles ⁇ 1 and ⁇ 2 .
- step ST16 the output unit 86 outputs data indicating the estimation result estimated by the estimation unit 84 to the display 54 and the speaker 56. As a result, an image indicating the estimation result is displayed on the display 54, and a sound indicating the estimation result is output from the speaker 56.
- step ST18 the CPU 64 determines whether or not an end instruction to end the application has been given from the user 20 via the touch panel 52. If an end instruction has not been given, the estimation process proceeds to step ST10. On the other hand, if an end instruction has been given, the estimation process ends.
- the estimation method is an example of an output method related to the technology disclosed herein.
- the lateral acceleration and vertical acceleration of the vehicle 12 are detected by the acceleration sensor 58 provided on the user terminal 16. Then, based on the lateral acceleration and vertical acceleration of the vehicle 12, the state of the tire 14 is estimated and the estimation result is output. Therefore, since it is not necessary to mount a dedicated acceleration sensor on the vehicle 12 for detecting the lateral acceleration and vertical acceleration of the vehicle 12, it is possible to output the state of the tire 14 while suppressing costot.
- the condition of the tires 14 is estimated by the user terminal 16, so even for vehicles 12 that do not have dedicated sensors, the condition of the tires 14 can be estimated by bringing the user terminal 16 into the vehicle 12.
- the acceleration sensor 58 detects the lateral acceleration and vertical acceleration of the vehicle 12, and the state of the tires 14 is estimated based on the detected lateral acceleration and vertical acceleration of the vehicle 12, so the state of the tires 14 can be estimated without using complex calculations. This also makes it possible to suppress increases in the cost of the application program 28.
- the roll angle ⁇ of the vehicle 12 is calculated based on the lateral acceleration and vertical acceleration of the vehicle 12, and the state of the tire 14 is estimated based on the calculated roll angle ⁇ . Even if the input load to the vehicle 12 is the same, if the state of the tire 14 changes, the characteristics of the tire 14 will change. Furthermore, if the characteristics of the tire 14 change, the behavior of the vehicle 12 will change. Therefore, by estimating the state of the tire 14 based on the roll angle ⁇ , which indicates the behavior of the vehicle 12, the state of the tire 14 can be estimated with high accuracy.
- the state regarding the air pressure of the tire 14 is estimated, and the estimation result is output. This makes it possible to inform the user 20 whether the air pressure of the tire 14 is normal or abnormal.
- the position of the vehicle 12 is at a predetermined position, an average value of the roll angle ⁇ obtained in a certain movement section until the vehicle 12 moves to the predetermined position is calculated. Then, the calculated average value of the roll angle ⁇ is compared with the predetermined roll angles ⁇ 1 and ⁇ 2 that are predetermined corresponding to the predetermined position, thereby estimating the state of the tire 14. Therefore, since the position where the average value of the roll angle ⁇ is obtained is the same as the position where the default roll angles ⁇ 1 and ⁇ 2 are determined, the average value of the roll angle ⁇ and the default roll angles ⁇ 1 and ⁇ 2 can match the conditions of the input load input to the vehicle 12 (i.e., conditions such as the inclination angle of the road). As a result, the roll angle ⁇ changes depending on the state of the tire 14 while eliminating the influence of the input load to the vehicle 12, thereby improving the estimation accuracy.
- the average value of the roll angle ⁇ obtained during a certain section of movement until the vehicle 12 moves to the predetermined position is used, so the estimation accuracy can be improved compared to, for example, a case where the instantaneous value of the roll angle ⁇ is used.
- the user terminal 16 is, for example, a smartphone. Therefore, the condition of the tire 14 can be easily estimated by using a smartphone, the ownership rate of which has been increasing recently.
- the user terminal 16 is, as an example, a smartphone, but it may be a terminal device other than a smartphone, such as a tablet terminal or a wearable terminal, as long as it is a terminal device that can be fixed to the vehicle 12.
- the user terminal 16 is fixed to the dashboard 24, but it may be fixed to a location other than the dashboard 24 as long as it is fixed to the vehicle 12.
- an acceleration sensor 58 is used, but a physical quantity sensor that detects a physical quantity related to the vehicle 12 other than acceleration may also be used.
- the roll angle ⁇ of the vehicle 12 is calculated based on the lateral acceleration and vertical acceleration of the vehicle 12 detected by the acceleration sensor 58, but the pitch angle ⁇ (see FIG. 6) of the vehicle 12 may be calculated based on the longitudinal acceleration and vertical acceleration of the vehicle 12 detected by the acceleration sensor 58.
- the state regarding the air pressure of the tires 14 may then be estimated based on the pitch angle ⁇ of the vehicle 12.
- the roll angle ⁇ and pitch angle ⁇ of the vehicle 12 may be calculated based on the lateral acceleration, longitudinal acceleration, and vertical acceleration of the vehicle 12 detected by the acceleration sensor 58, and the state regarding the air pressure of the tires 14 may be estimated based on the roll angle ⁇ and pitch angle ⁇ of the vehicle 12. Furthermore, if it is estimated that the air pressure of the tires 14 is abnormal, the direction in which the vehicle 12 tilts may be identified based on the roll angle ⁇ and pitch angle ⁇ , and it may be estimated that there is an abnormality in the air pressure of the tire 14 in the direction in which the vehicle 12 tilts, among the multiple tires 14 provided on the vehicle 12.
- an angular velocity sensor 78 may be used instead of the acceleration sensor 58.
- the angular velocity sensor 78 may detect the lateral angular velocity of the vehicle 12, and the roll angle ⁇ of the vehicle 12 may be calculated by integrating the detected lateral angular velocity of the vehicle 12.
- the angular velocity sensor 78 may detect the longitudinal angular velocity of the vehicle 12, and the pitch angle ⁇ of the vehicle 12 may be calculated by integrating the detected longitudinal angular velocity of the vehicle 12.
- the roll angle ⁇ or pitch angle ⁇ may be calculated using both the acceleration sensor 58 and the angular velocity sensor 78.
- the state of the tire 14 related to the air pressure is estimated as an example of the state of the tire 14, but the state of the tire 14 related to the amount of wear or the state of the degree of deterioration of the tire 14 may also be estimated.
- at least one of the state of the tire 14 related to the air pressure, the state of the tire 14 related to the amount of wear, and the state of the degree of deterioration of the tire 14 may also be estimated.
- condition of the tires 14 is estimated, but a condition of the vehicle 12 other than the condition of the tires 14 may also be estimated.
- the average value of the roll angle ⁇ is calculated based on the lateral acceleration and vertical acceleration of the vehicle 12 obtained during a certain movement section until the vehicle 12 moves to the default position, but the roll angle ⁇ when the vehicle 12 is in the default position may be used.
- the average value of the roll angle ⁇ is used as an example of a representative value of the roll angle ⁇ , but the maximum value, minimum value, or median value of the roll angle ⁇ may also be used.
- the state of the tire 14 is estimated when the position of the vehicle 12 is at a default position, but the orientation of the vehicle 12 may be detected by the positioning unit 60 provided in the user terminal 16, and the state of the tire 14 may be estimated when the position of the vehicle 12 is at a default position and the orientation of the vehicle 12 is the default orientation.
- the state of the tire 14 may be estimated based on the roll angle ⁇ obtained when the position of the vehicle 12 is at a default position and the orientation of the vehicle 12 is the default orientation, and based on default roll angles ⁇ 1 and ⁇ 2 that are predetermined corresponding to the default position and default orientation.

Abstract
Description

ネットワーク26は、インターネット、LAN(Local Area Network)、WAN(Wide Area Network)、又はイントラネットでもよく、これら以外の種類の通信ネットワークでもよい。
コンピュータ30は、CPU(Central Processing Unit)34、ROM(Read Only Memory)36、RAM(Random Access Memory)38、ストレージ40、及び入出力I/F42を備える。
ストレージ40は、HDD(Hard Disk Drive)又はSSD(Solid State Drive)により構成され、オペレーティングシステムを含む各種プログラム、及び各種データを格納する。
ユーザ端末16の位置は、例えば、GNSS(Global Navigation Satellite System)を用いて検出される。GNSSの一例として、GPS(Global Positioning System)が用いられてもよい。
α=arctan(aL/aV)・・・(1)
α=arctan(aL/aV)・・・(1)
この場合のプロセッサとしては、FPGA(Field-Programmable Gate Array)等の製造後に回路構成を変更可能なPLD(Programmable Logic Device)、及びASIC(Application Specific Integrated Circuit)等の特定の処理を実行させるために専用に設計された回路構成を有するプロセッサである専用電気回路等が例示される。
CD-ROM(Compact Disk Read Only Memory)、DVD-ROM(Digital Versatile Disk Read Only Memory)、及びUSB(Universal Serial Bus)メモリ等の非一時的(non-transitory)記憶媒体に記憶された形態で提供されてもよい。
