Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a water purifier and a control method thereof, and more specifically, to a water purifier capable of maintaining the temperature of a fluid extracted after a long period of non-use at a preset temperature and a control method thereof.
  • a water purifier is a general term for any device that receives raw water, processes it to the state desired by the user, and then provides it to the user.
  • a water purifier can filter raw water using various types of filters and provide it to the user.
  • a water purifier may filter raw water to make it suitable for drinking and provide it to the user.
  • the usage cycle of the water purifier can be divided into frequently used times and low usage times depending on the user's usage pattern.
  • the device provided in the water purifier to generate hot or cold water operates continuously. Accordingly, the user can be provided with hot or cold water at a preset temperature.
  • the device for generating hot or cold water and the outlet cock are fluidly connected by a flow path extending between them. Depending on the water outlet pattern or water outlet state, some of the hot or cold water flowing along the flow path may remain in the flow path.
  • the hot or cold water remaining in the flow path and the generated hot or cold water may be mixed and discharged.
  • the temperature in the case of hot water, the temperature may decrease compared to the preset temperature, and in the case of cold water, the temperature may increase compared to the preset temperature.
  • the difference between the preset temperature and the water discharged temperature may further increase.
  • the user does not receive hot or cold water at the desired temperature.
  • the user's satisfaction may decrease.
  • a device that generates hot or cold water must additionally generate hot or cold water corresponding to the volume of hot or cold water remaining in the flow path. Therefore, there is a possibility that the energy efficiency of the entire water purifier will decrease and the amount of raw water used and hot or cold water produced by treating raw water will increase.
  • Korean Patent Publication No. 10-2015-0101143 discloses a hot and cold water purifier capable of rapid heating and cooling. Specifically, the water levels of the hot and cold water tanks are adjusted based on the amount of hot and cold water used according to the user's usage pattern analysis, so that even when the user extracts hot or cold water during unused times, the desired water level is immediately supplied through rapid heating or cooling. Disclosed is a cold and hot water purifier capable of extracting water of any temperature.
  • the cold and hot water purifier disclosed in the prior literature requires additional operation of the hot water tank and the cold water tank to extract hot or cold water after being unused for a long period of time.
  • the prior literature does not provide a method for maintaining the temperature of hot or cold water extracted after being unused for a long period of time without additionally operating the hot water tank and the cold water tank.
  • the cold and hot water purifier disclosed in the prior literature only discloses a method for operating the device itself (i.e., the hot water tank and the cold water tank) that generates hot or cold water.
  • the prior literature does not provide a method for preventing a situation in which the temperature of hot or cold water is disturbed by residual water remaining in a passage through which rapidly heated or cooled hot or cold water flows.
  • Korean Patent Document No. 10-1884736 discloses an under-sink type drinking water supply device. Specifically, an under-sink type drinking water supply device is disclosed that can supply all purified water, cold water, and hot water while automatically discharging residual water remaining in the pipe through a normally open drain valve.
  • the prior art document discloses an effect in which residual water is automatically discharged, and mixing with residual water is prevented even when purified water, cold water, and hot water are discharged after a long period of non-use, thereby maintaining the temperature of the purified water, cold water, and hot water.
  • the drinking water supply device disclosed in the preceding literature is configured to discharge residual water generated during use to the outside. Therefore, as the use of the drinking water supply device continues, all remaining water that increases is discharged to the outside, raising the risk that the amount of water used will increase excessively.
  • the drinking water supply device disclosed in the above prior literature requires a separate flow path to discharge residual water to the outside. Therefore, there are limitations in achieving miniaturization of the drinking water supply device and simplification of the flow path structure.

Abstract
