本発明の一側面によれば、冷凍機油の粘度指数を向上させることができる。本発明の一側面によれば、冷凍機油の粘度特性を向上させることができる。本発明の他の一側面によれば、粘度特性と冷媒相溶性に優れる冷凍機油が提供され得る。本発明の他の一側面によれば、冷媒溶解粘度を高くすることができる冷凍機油が提供し得る。本発明の他の一側面によれば、作動流体組成物の冷媒溶解粘度改良剤が提供され得る。
本発明の一実施形態は、基油と、特定のポリマー(後述する(メタ)アクリレート系ポリマー)と、を含有する冷凍機油である。
基油としては、炭化水素油及び含酸素油が挙げられる。炭化水素油としては、鉱油及び合成系炭化水素油が挙げられる。含酸素油としては、エステル、エーテル、カーボネート、ケトン、シリコーン、及びポリシロキサンが挙げられる。
鉱油としては、パラフィン系、ナフテン系などの原油を常圧蒸留及び減圧蒸留して得られた潤滑油留分を、溶剤脱れき、溶剤精製、水素化精製、水素化分解、溶剤脱ろう、水素化脱ろう、白土処理、硫酸洗浄などの方法で精製することによって得られるパラフィン系鉱油又はナフテン系鉱油が挙げられる。鉱油は、好ましくは水素化分解鉱油であってよい。鉱油は、好ましくはパラフィン系鉱油であってもよい。合成系炭化水素油としては、アルキルベンゼン、アルキルナフタレン、ポリαオレフィン(PAO)、ポリαオレフィン(PAO)の水素化物、ワックス異性化油、ポリブテン、エチレン-αオレフィン共重合体などが挙げられる。これらの中では、(メタ)アクリレート系ポリマーと混合した際に、R290等の炭化水素を含む冷媒の溶解量を抑え、冷媒溶解粘度をより高くしやすいことから、基油は、鉱油及びワックス異性化油から選ばれる少なくとも1種を含むことが好ましい。
炭化水素油の40℃における動粘度は、3mm2/s以上、5mm2/s以上、7mm2/s以上、又は10mm2/s以上であってよく、400mm2/s以下、100mm2/s以下、50mm2/s以下、又は30mm2/s以下であってよい。炭化水素油の40℃における動粘度は、(メタ)アクリレート系ポリマーの添加によって更に高い粘度指数向上効果が得られる観点から、25mm2/s以下、20mm2/s以下、15mm2/s以下、又は13mm2/s以下であってもよい。炭化水素油の100℃における動粘度は、1mm2/s以上、1.5mm2/s以上、2mm2/s以上、又は2.5mm2/s以上であってよく、100mm2/s以下、50mm2/s以下、30mm2/s以下、又は10mm2/s以下であってよい。炭化水素油の粘度指数は、0以上、50以上、80以上、100以上、又は105以上であってよく、200以下、150以下、130以下、又は115以下であってよい。本明細書における動粘度及び粘度指数は、JIS K2283:2000に準拠して測定された動粘度及び粘度指数を意味する。
エステルとしては、芳香族エステル、二塩基酸エステル、ポリオールエステル、コンプレックスエステル、炭酸エステル及びこれらの混合物などが例示される。エステルは、好ましくは、ポリオールエステル及びコンプレックスエステルから選ばれる少なくとも一種であり、より好ましくはポリオールエステルである。なお、基油としてのエステルには、後述する(メタ)アクリレート系ポリマーは含まれない。
ポリオールエステルは、多価アルコールとカルボン酸とのエステルである。多価アルコールは、2~6個の水酸基を有する多価アルコールであってよい。多価アルコールの炭素数は、4以上又は5以上であってよく、12以下又は10以下であってよい。多価アルコールは、好ましくは、ネオペンチルグリコール、トリメチロールエタン、トリメチロールプロパン、トリメチロールブタン、ジ-(トリメチロールプロパン)、トリ-(トリメチロールプロパン)、ペンタエリスリトール、及びジペンタエリスリトールからなる群より選ばれる少なくとも一種であってよく、好ましくは、ネオペンチルグリコール、トリメチロールプロパン、ペンタエリスリトール、及びジペンタエリスリトールからなる群より選ばれる少なくとも一種であってよい。
カルボン酸は、一価又は多価のカルボン酸であってよく、好ましくは一価カルボン酸であり、より好ましくは一価脂肪族カルボン酸(脂肪酸)である。脂肪酸は、飽和脂肪酸であってよく、不飽和脂肪酸であってもよい。カルボン酸(脂肪酸)の炭素数は、4以上、5以上、8以上、10以上、12以上、又は14以上であってよく、20以下、18以下、16以下、14以下、10以下、又は9以下であってよい。
脂肪酸としては、具体的には、ブタン酸、ペンタン酸、ヘキサン酸、ヘプタン酸、オクタン酸、ノナン酸、デカン酸、ウンデカン酸、ドデカン酸、トリデカン酸、テトラデカン酸、ペンタデカン酸、ヘキサデカン酸、ヘキサデセン酸、ヘプタデカン酸、オクタデカン酸、オクタデセン酸、ノナデカン酸、イコサン酸が挙げられる。これらの脂肪酸は、直鎖状であっても分岐状であってもよい。
一実施形態において、基油は、ネオペンチルグリコール又はトリメチロールプロパンと炭素数4~10の脂肪酸とのエステルを含んでよい。この場合、(メタ)アクリレート系ポリマーの添加によって更に高い粘度指数向上効果が得られる。当該脂肪酸は、好ましくは直鎖状又は分岐状の飽和脂肪酸であってよい。ネオペンチルグリコールと炭素数4~10の脂肪酸とのエステルにおいて、当該脂肪酸の炭素数は、4~9、5~9、6~9、7~9、又は8~9であってもよく、8であってもよく、当該脂肪酸は分岐状であってよい。トリメチロールプロパンと炭素数4~10の脂肪酸とのエステルにおいて、当該脂肪酸の炭素数は、5~10、6~10、7~10、又は8~10であってもよく、当該脂肪酸は直鎖状であってよい。
一実施形態において、基油は、ネオペンチルグリコール又はトリメチロールプロパンと炭素数10~20の脂肪酸とのエステルを含んでよく、好ましくは、トリメチロールプロパンと炭素数10~20の脂肪酸とのエステルを含んでよい。この場合、(メタ)アクリレート系ポリマーの添加によって、冷凍機油の40℃における動粘度を大幅に増加させることなく、更に効果的に冷媒溶解粘度が改良される。炭素数10~20の脂肪酸は、好ましくは炭素数14~20の不飽和脂肪酸を含み、より好ましくはオレイン酸を含む。
一実施形態において、基油は、ペンタエリスリトールと炭素数4~9の脂肪酸とのエステルを含んでよい。当該脂肪酸は、好ましくは飽和脂肪酸である。脂肪酸は、好ましくはα位及び/又はβ位に分岐を有する脂肪酸であり、より好ましくは、2-メチルプロパン酸、2-メチルブタン酸、2-メチルペンタン酸、2-メチルヘキサン酸、2-エチルペンタン酸、2-メチルヘプタン酸、2-エチルヘキサン酸、3,5,5-トリメチルヘキサン酸及び2-エチルヘキサデカン酸から選ばれ、更に好ましくは、2-エチルヘキサン酸及び3,5,5-トリメチルヘキサン酸から選ばれる。
コンプレックスエステルは、好ましくは、2~4個のヒドロキシル基を有する多価アルコールから選ばれる少なくとも1種と、炭素数6~12の多塩基酸から選ばれる少なくとも1種と、炭素数4~18の一価アルコール及び炭素数2~12の一価脂肪酸から選ばれる少なくとも1種とから合成されるエステルである。
2~4個のヒドロキシル基を有する多価アルコールとしては、ネオペンチルグリコール、トリメチロールプロパン、ペンタエリスリトールなどが挙げられる。
コンプレックスエステルを構成する多価アルコールは、好ましくは、2~4個のヒドロキシル基を有する多価アルコールに加えて、ネオペンチルグリコール以外の炭素数2~10の二価アルコールを更に含有する。ネオペンチルグリコール以外の炭素数2~10の二価アルコールとしては、エチレングリコール、プロパンジオール、ブタンジオール、ペンタンジオール、ヘキサンジオール、2-メチル-1,3-プロパンジオール、3-メチル-1,5-ペンタンジオール、2,2-ジエチル-1,3-ペンタンジオールなどが挙げられる。
炭素数6~12の多塩基酸としては、アジピン酸、ピメリン酸、スベリン酸、アゼライン酸、セバシン酸、フタル酸、トリメリット酸などが挙げられる。
炭素数4~18の一価アルコールとしては、ブタノール、ペンタノール、ヘキサノール、ヘプタノール、オクタノール、ノナノール、デカノール、ドデカノール、オレイルアルコールなどの脂肪族アルコールが挙げられる。これらの一価アルコールは、直鎖状であっても分岐状であってもよい。
炭素数2~12の一価脂肪酸としては、エタン酸、プロパン酸、ブタン酸、ペンタン酸、ヘキサン酸、ヘプタン酸、オクタン酸、ノナン酸、デカン酸、ドデカン酸などが挙げられる。これらの一価脂肪酸は、直鎖状であっても分岐状であってもよい。
エステルの40℃における動粘度は、3mm2/s以上、5mm2/s以上、7mm2/s以上、又は10mm2/s以上であってよく、500mm2/s以下、300mm2/s以下、又は100mm2/s以下であってよい。エステルの100℃における動粘度は、1mm2/s以上、1.5mm2/s以上、又は2mm2/s以上であってよく、100mm2/s以下、50mm2/s以下、又は10mm2/s以下であってよい。エステルの粘度指数は、10以上、30以上、又は50以上であってよく、250以下、200以下、又は150以下であってよい。
ネオペンチルグリコール又はトリメチロールプロパンと炭素数4~10の脂肪酸とのエステルの40℃における動粘度は、3mm2/s以上、5mm2/s以上、又は7mm2/s以上であってよく、30mm2/s以下、25mm2/s以下、20mm2/s以下、15mm2/s以下、又は10mm2/s以下であってよい。当該エステルの100℃における動粘度は、1mm2/s以上、1.5mm2/s以上、又は2mm2/s以上であってよく、10mm2/s以下、5mm2/s以下、又は3mm2/s以下であってよい。当該エステルの粘度指数は、10以上、30以上、又は40以上であってよく、160以下、140以下、120以下、100以下、80以下、70以下、又は60以下であってよい。
ネオペンチルグリコール又はトリメチロールプロパンと炭素数10~20の脂肪酸とのエステルの40℃における動粘度は、10mm2/s以上、15mm2/s以上、又は20mm2/s以上であってよく、60mm2/s以下、55mm2/s以下、又は50mm2/s以下であってよい。当該エステルの100℃における動粘度は、3mm2/s以上、4mm2/s以上、又は5mm2/s以上であってよく、20mm2/s以下、15mm2/s以下、又は10mm2/s以下であってよい。当該エステルの粘度指数は、100以上、150以上、又は170以上であってよく、300以下、250以下、又は220以下であってよい。
ペンタエリスリトールと炭素数4~9の脂肪酸とのエステルの40℃における動粘度は、30mm2/s以上、40mm2/s以上、又は50mm2/s以上であってよく、100mm2/s以下、80mm2/s以下、又は75mm2/s以下であってよい。当該エステルの100℃動粘度は、3mm2/s以上、4mm2/s以上、又は5mm2/s以上であってよく、20mm2/s以下、15mm2/s以下、又は10mm2/s以下であってよい。当該エステルの粘度指数は、50以上、70以上、又は80以上であってよく、150以下、120以下、又は100以下であってよい。
エーテルとしては、ポリビニルエーテル、ポリアルキレングリコール、ポリフェニルエーテル、及びパーフルオロエーテルが挙げられる。エーテルは、好ましくは、ポリビニルエーテル及びポリアルキレングリコールから選ばれ、より好ましくはポリビニルエーテルである。
基油は、好ましくは、上記の炭化水素油、エステル、及びエーテルからなる群より選ばれる少なくとも一種を含み、より好ましくは、鉱油、合成系炭化水素油、ネオペンチルグリコール又はトリメチロールプロパンと炭素数4~10の脂肪酸とのエステル、ネオペンチルグリコール又はトリメチロールプロパンと炭素数10~20の脂肪酸とのエステル、及び、ペンタエリスリトールと炭素数4~9の脂肪酸とのエステルからなる群より選ばれる少なくとも一種を含む。基油は、(メタ)アクリレート系ポリマーの添加によって更に高い粘度指数向上効果が得られる観点から、好ましくは、鉱油、合成系炭化水素油、ネオペンチルグリコール又はトリメチロールプロパンと炭素数4~10の脂肪酸とのエステル、及び、ペンタエリスリトールと炭素数4~9の脂肪酸とのエステルからなる群より選ばれる少なくとも一種を含んでよく、より好ましくは、鉱油、合成系炭化水素油、及び、ネオペンチルグリコール又はトリメチロールプロパンと炭素数4~10の脂肪酸とのエステルからなる群より選ばれる少なくとも一種を含んでよく、更に好ましくは、鉱油、及び、ネオペンチルグリコール又はトリメチロールプロパンと炭素数4~10の脂肪酸とのエステルからなる群より選ばれる少なくとも一種を含んでよい。
基油の40℃における動粘度は、3mm2/s以上、4mm2/s以上、又は5mm2/s以上であってよく、500mm2/s以下、400mm2/s以下、又は300mm2/s以下であってよい。基油の100℃における動粘度は、1mm2/s以上、1.5mm2/s以上、又は2mm2/s以上であってよく、100mm2/s以下、50mm2/s以下、又は10mm2/s以下であってよい。基油の粘度指数は、10以上、30以上、又は50以上であってよく、250以下、200以下、又は150以下であってよい。
基油の含有量は、冷凍機油全量基準で、50質量%以上、60質量%以上、70質量%以上、80質量%以上、又は90質量%以上であってよい。
式(1)中、R1は、水素原子又はメチル基を表し、好ましくはメチル基を表す。R2は、アルキル基、又はアルキル基の一部が置換された基(以下「置換アルキル基」ともいう)を表す。
R2で表されるアルキル基は、直鎖状であっても分岐状であってもよい。アルキル基の炭素数は、1以上であってよく、20以下であってよい。置換アルキル基は、例えば、窒素原子及び酸素原子から選ばれる少なくとも1種を含む基を有していてよい。窒素原子を含む基は、アミノ基であってよい。酸素原子を含む基は、エーテル基であってよい。
(メタ)アクリレート系ポリマーは、式(1)で表される構造単位の1種以上を含み、好ましくは2種以上を含む。(メタ)アクリレート系ポリマーは、好ましくは、R2がメチル基である第1の構造単位と、R2が炭素数10以上のアルキル基である第2の構造単位の1種以上とを含む。(メタ)アクリレート系ポリマーは、第2の構造単位の2種以上を含んでいてもよい。第2の構造単位におけるR2で表されるアルキル基の炭素数は、11以上、12以上、又は13以上であってもよく、40以下、30以下、20以下、19以下、又は18以下であってもよい。
第2の構造単位におけるR2で表される炭素数10以上のアルキル基は、直鎖状であっても分岐状であってもよい。当該アルキル基が分岐状である場合、アルキル基は、分岐鎖として、メチル基を有していてよく、エチル基を有していてもよい。エチル基を有する分岐状のアルキル基は、下記式(2a)で表されるアルキル基であってよい。
式中、xは、5以上の整数を表す。
第2の構造単位におけるR2で表される炭素数10以上のアルキル基が分岐状である場合、アルキル基は、下記式(2b)で表されるアルキル基であってもよい。
式中、y及びzは、それぞれ独立に0以上の整数であって、y+zが6以上となるような整数を表す。
(メタ)アクリレート系ポリマーは、式(1)で表される構造単位におけるR2がメチル基である第1の構造単位と、R2が炭素数10以上のアルキル基である第2の構造単位の1種以上と、R2が炭素数2~9のアルキル基である第3の構造単位とを含んでいてもよい。炭素数2~9のアルキル基は、好ましくは炭素数4~8の直鎖状又は分岐状アルキル基、更に好ましくは炭素数6又は8の分岐状アルキル基であってよい。
(メタ)アクリレート系ポリマーにおいては、R2で表される基の炭素数の平均(以下「平均炭素数」ともいう)が、4~18となっている。当該炭素数の平均の下限値は、4.5以上、5以上、5.5以上、又は6以上であってもよい。当該炭素数の平均の上限値は、17以下、16以下、15以下、14以下、13以下、12以下、11以下、10以下、又は9.5以下であってもよい。R2で表される基の炭素数の平均が4以上であることで、(メタ)アクリレート系ポリマーは、極性がやや低めの冷凍機油や炭化水素冷媒と良好な相溶性を示す傾向にあるとともに、粘度指数向上効果が高い傾向にある。また、当該(メタ)アクリレート系ポリマーは、そのような冷凍機油及び冷媒を含む作動流体組成物に対し、冷媒溶解粘度の改良効果が高い傾向にあり、冷媒溶解粘度改良剤として有用である。
(メタ)アクリレート系ポリマーにおけるR2で表される基の炭素数の平均は、(メタ)アクリレート系ポリマーについて、13C-NMR分析(1Hゲーテッドデカップリング法)を用いた構造解析により、R2で表される基(例えば、メチル基、長鎖アルキル基、分岐アルキル基、アミノ基等)の割合を解析し、得られた割合と各基に含まれる炭素数とから算出される。
(メタ)アクリレート系ポリマーは、式(1)で表される構造単位の1種で構成される単独重合体であってもよく、式(1)で表される構造単位の2種以上で構成される共重合体であってもよく、式(1)で表される構造単位と他の構造単位とで構成される共重合体であってもよい。式(1)で表される構造単位の含有量は、(メタ)アクリレート系ポリマーを構成する構造単位全量を基準として、50モル%以上、60モル%以上、70モル%以上、80モル%以上、又は90モル%以上であってよく、100モル%であってもよい。
(メタ)アクリレート系ポリマーの重量平均分子量(Mw)は、一実施形態において、500以上、1,000以上、5,000以上、10,000以上、30,000以上、又は40,000以上であってよく、100,000以下、80,000以下、又は60,000以下であってよい。(メタ)アクリレート系ポリマーの重量平均分子量(Mw)は、他の一実施形態において、100,000超、120,000以上、150,000以上、又は200,000以上であってよく、1,000,000以下、800,000以下、600,000以下、500,000以下、又は400,000以下以下であってよい。
(メタ)アクリレート系ポリマーの重量平均分子量(Mw)は、GPC分析により得られるMw(ポリスチレン(標準試料)換算値)を意味する。Mwは、例えば以下のように測定される。
溶剤としてテトラヒドロフランを使用し、希釈して(メタ)アクリレート系ポリマー濃度を1質量%とした溶液を調製する。その溶液を、GPC装置(Waters Alliance2695)を用いて分析を行う。溶剤の流速は1ml/min、分析対象である(メタ)アクリレート系ポリマーの分子量に応じた適切なカラムを使用し、屈折率検出器を用いて分析を実施する。なお、分子量が明確なポリスチレン標準を用いてカラム保持時間と分子量との関係を求め、検量線を別途作成した上で、得られた保持時間から分子量を決定する。
溶剤としてテトラヒドロフランを使用し、希釈して(メタ)アクリレート系ポリマー濃度を1質量%とした溶液を調製する。その溶液を、GPC装置(Waters Alliance2695)を用いて分析を行う。溶剤の流速は1ml/min、分析対象である(メタ)アクリレート系ポリマーの分子量に応じた適切なカラムを使用し、屈折率検出器を用いて分析を実施する。なお、分子量が明確なポリスチレン標準を用いてカラム保持時間と分子量との関係を求め、検量線を別途作成した上で、得られた保持時間から分子量を決定する。
(メタ)アクリレート系ポリマーの含有量は、冷凍機油全量基準で、1質量%以上、3質量%以上、5質量%以上、10質量%以上、15質量%以上、又は20質量%以上であってよく、50質量%以下、40質量%以下、35質量%以下、又は30質量%以下であってよい。
冷凍機油は、その他の添加剤を更に含有していてもよい。その他の添加剤としては、例えば、酸捕捉剤、酸化防止剤、極圧剤、油性剤、消泡剤、金属不活性化剤、摩耗防止剤、粘度指数向上剤、流動点降下剤、清浄分散剤などが挙げられる。これらの添加剤の合計の含有量は、冷凍機油全量基準で、0.1質量%以上、1質量%以上、又は2質量%以上であってよく、10質量%以下、5質量%以下、又は3質量%以下であってよい。
冷凍機油の40℃における動粘度は、5mm2/s以上、10mm2/s以上、20mm2/s以上、30mm2/s以上、又は40mm2/s以上であってよく、500mm2/s以下、400mm2/s以下、300mm2/s以下、200mm2/s以下、100mm2/s以下、又は90mm2/s以下であってよい。冷凍機油の100℃における動粘度は、1mm2/s以上、2mm2/s以上、又は3mm2/s以上であってよく、100mm2/s以下、50mm2/s以下、又は40mm2/s以下であってよい。冷凍機油の粘度指数は、80以上、100mm2/s以上、150以上、200以上、又は220以上であってよく、500以下、400以下、又は300以下であってよい。
冷凍機油は、冷凍機において、冷媒と共に用いられる。図1は、冷凍機の一実施形態を示す模式図である。図1に示すように、冷凍機10は、圧縮機(冷媒圧縮機)1と、凝縮器(ガスクーラー)2と、膨張機構3(キャピラリ、膨張弁等)と、蒸発器(熱交換器)4とが流路5で順次接続された冷媒循環システム6を少なくとも備えている。冷媒循環システム6は、冷凍機油と冷媒とを含んでいる。冷媒循環システム6は、液体状の冷媒が直接圧縮機1内に流入することを抑制・防止するために、蒸発器4と圧縮機1の間(圧縮機1の側面)にアキュムレータ7を更に有していてよい。
このような冷凍機10としては、例えば、自動車用エアコン、除湿器、冷蔵庫、冷凍冷蔵倉庫、自動販売機、ショーケース、化学プラント等における冷却装置、住宅用エアコンディショナー、パッケージエアコンディショナー、及び給湯用ヒートポンプが挙げられる。
冷媒循環システム6においては、まず、圧縮機1から流路5内に吐出された高温(通常70~120℃)の冷媒が、凝縮器2にて高密度の流体(超臨界流体等)となる。続いて、冷媒は、膨張機構3が有する狭い流路を通ることによって液化し、さらに蒸発器4にて気化して低温(通常-40~0℃)となる。冷凍機10による冷房は、冷媒が蒸発器4において気化する際に周囲から熱を奪う現象を利用している。
圧縮機1内においては、高温(通常70~120℃)条件下で、少量の冷媒と多量の冷凍機油とが共存する。圧縮機1から流路5に吐出される冷媒は、気体状であり、少量(通常1~10体積%)の冷凍機油をミストとして含んでいるが、このミスト状の冷凍機油中には少量の冷媒が溶解している(図1中の点a)。
凝縮器2内においては、気体状の冷媒が圧縮されて高密度の流体となり、比較的高温(通常40~80℃)条件下で、多量の冷媒と少量の冷凍機油とが共存する(図1中の点b)。さらに、多量の冷媒と少量の冷凍機油との混合物は、膨張機構3、蒸発器4に順次送られて急激に低温(通常-40~0℃)となり(図1中の点c,d)、再び圧縮機1に戻される。
本発明の他の一実施形態は、上記の冷凍機油と冷媒とを含有する作動流体組成物ともいえる。作動流体組成物の冷媒溶解粘度は、上述した(メタ)アクリレート系ポリマーを用いることにより改良され得る。すなわち、本発明の他の一実施形態は、上述した(メタ)アクリレート系ポリマーを含有する、冷凍機油及び冷媒を含む作動流体組成物の冷媒溶解粘度改良剤ともいえる。
冷媒としては、例えば、飽和フッ化炭化水素(HFCとも呼ばれる)、不飽和フッ化炭化水素(HFOとも呼ばれる)、炭化水素、含フッ素エーテル、ビス(トリフルオロメチル)サルファイド、三フッ化ヨウ化メタン、アンモニア、及び二酸化炭素が挙げられる。冷媒は、これらの冷媒の一種単独冷媒であってよく、二種以上の混合冷媒であってもよい。
冷媒は、好ましくは炭化水素を含む。炭化水素の含有量は、冷媒全量を基準として、50質量%以上、60質量%以上、70質量%以上、80質量%以上、90質量%以上、又は95質量%以上であってよい。冷媒は、炭化水素のみからなっていてもよい。
飽和フッ化炭化水素としては、好ましくは炭素数1~3、より好ましくは1~2の飽和フッ化炭化水素が挙げられる。飽和フッ化炭化水素としては、例えば、ジフルオロメタン(R32)、トリフルオロメタン(R23)、ペンタフルオロエタン(R125)、1,1,2,2-テトラフルオロエタン(R134)、1,1,1,2-テトラフルオロエタン(R134a)、1,1,1-トリフルオロエタン(R143a)、1,1-ジフルオロエタン(R152a)、フルオロエタン(R161)、1,1,1,2,3,3,3-ヘプタフルオロプロパン(R227ea)、1,1,1,2,3,3-ヘキサフルオロプロパン(R236ea)、1,1,1,3,3,3-ヘキサフルオロプロパン(R236fa)、1,1,1,3,3-ペンタフルオロプロパン(R245fa)、及び1,1,1,3,3-ペンタフルオロブタン(R365mfc)が挙げられる。
飽和フッ化炭化水素としては、例えば、R32単独;R23単独;R134a単独;R125単独;R134a/R32=60~80質量%/40~20質量%の混合物;R32/R125=40~70質量%/60~30質量%の混合物;R125/R143a=40~60質量%/60~40質量%の混合物;R134a/R32/R125=60質量%/30質量%/10質量%の混合物;R134a/R32/R125=40~70質量%/15~35質量%/5~40質量%の混合物;R125/R134a/R143a=35~55質量%/1~15質量%/40~60質量%の混合物などが好ましい例として挙げられる。さらに具体的には、R134a/R32=70/30質量%の混合物;R32/R125=60/40質量%の混合物;R32/R125=50/50質量%の混合物(R410A);R32/R125=45/55質量%の混合物(R410B);R125/R143a=50/50質量%の混合物(R507C);R32/R125/R134a=30/10/60質量%の混合物;R32/R125/R134a=23/25/52質量%の混合物(R407C);R32/R125/R134a=25/15/60質量%の混合物(R407E);R125/R134a/R143a=44/4/52質量%の混合物(R404A)が挙げられる。
不飽和フッ化炭化水素としては、例えば、炭素-炭素二重結合を1つ以上有し、フッ素及び水素を有する炭素数2~4の不飽和フッ化炭化水素が挙げられる。不飽和フッ化炭化水素は、好ましくはフルオロプロペン、より好ましくはフッ素数が3~5のフルオロプロペンである。不飽和フッ化炭化水素としては、例えば、1,2,3,3,3-ペンタフルオロプロペン(HFO-1225ye)、1,3,3,3-テトラフルオロプロペン(HFO-1234ze)、2,3,3,3-テトラフルオロプロペン(HFO-1234yf)、1,2,3,3-テトラフルオロプロペン(HFO-1234ye)、及び3,3,3-トリフルオロプロペン(HFO-1243zf)が挙げられる。不飽和フッ化炭化水素は、好ましくは、HFO-1225ye、HFO-1234ze及びHFO-1234yfから選ばれる少なくとも1種である。不飽和フッ化炭化水素は、フッ素数が1~4のフルオロエチレンであってもよく、好ましくは1,1,2,3-トリフルオロエチレンであってもよい。
炭化水素は、好ましくは炭素数1~5の炭化水素、より好ましくは炭素数2~4の炭化水素である。炭化水素としては、例えば、メタン、エチレン、エタン、プロピレン、プロパン(R290)、シクロプロパン、ノルマルブタン、イソブタン、シクロブタン、メチルシクロプロパン、2-メチルブタン、及びノルマルペンタンが挙げられる。炭化水素は、好ましくは、プロパン、ノルマルブタン、イソブタン、及び2-メチルブタンからなる群より選ばれる少なくとも一種である。
冷凍機油と冷媒との低温側二層分離温度は、例えば、オイルレート(冷凍機油の量(g)/冷凍機油の量及び冷媒の量の合計(g)×100)(質量%)が20質量%であるときに、好ましくは10℃以下、より好ましくは0℃以下、更に好ましくは-20℃以下であり、-30℃以下であってよい。このような低温側二層分離温度を示す冷媒は、上記の炭化水素を含む冷媒であってよく、プロパン又はイソブタンを含む冷媒であってよい。
作動流体組成物における冷凍機油の含有量は、冷媒100質量部に対して、1質量部以上又は2質量部以上であってよく、500質量部以下又は400質量部以下であってよい。
以下、実施例に基づいて本発明をより具体的に説明するが、本発明は実施例に限定されない。
以下に示す基油及び(メタ)アクリレート系ポリマーを用いて、表1~9に示す組成(冷凍機油全量基準の質量%)の冷凍機油を調製した。これらの冷凍機油では、いずれも、基油と(メタ)アクリレート系ポリマーとが相溶した。

(冷凍機油の物性の測定)
各実施例の冷凍機油について、40℃及び100℃のそれぞれにおける動粘度、並びに粘度指数を、JIS K2283:2000に準拠して測定した。結果を表1~9に示す。

(冷凍機油の冷媒相溶性)
各実施例の冷凍機油について、JIS K2211:2009の「冷媒との相溶性試験方法」に準拠して、冷凍機油4gに対し、炭化水素を含む冷媒であるR290を16g混合し、0℃において冷凍機油と冷媒とが相互に溶解しているかを観察した。冷凍機油と冷媒とが相互に溶解した場合を「相溶」と評価し、冷凍機油と冷媒とが二層に分離した場合を「分離」と評価した。結果を表1~9に示す。
各実施例の冷凍機油について、JIS K2211:2009の「冷媒との相溶性試験方法」に準拠して、冷凍機油4gに対し、炭化水素を含む冷媒であるR290を16g混合し、0℃において冷凍機油と冷媒とが相互に溶解しているかを観察した。冷凍機油と冷媒とが相互に溶解した場合を「相溶」と評価し、冷凍機油と冷媒とが二層に分離した場合を「分離」と評価した。結果を表1~9に示す。
下記表10~13に示す実施例の冷凍機油については、以下の手順で冷媒溶解粘度、冷媒分率(冷媒溶解量)、及び二層分離温度を測定した。また、参考のために、表10~13に示す参考例の冷凍機油についても、同様の測定を行った。結果を表10~13に示す。
(冷媒溶解粘度の測定)
まず、振動式粘度計、温度計、圧力計を取り付けた耐圧容器(容積V=400cm3)に、冷凍機油100gを充填し、耐圧容器内を真空脱気した後、冷媒(R290)を充填し、温度80℃、絶対圧力2.8MPaの条件となるように、作動流体の温度及び耐圧容器内の圧力を調整し、冷凍機油及び冷媒とからなる作動流体組成物を調製した。所定条件とならない場合は冷凍機油の充填量も適宜調整した。この条件において、振動式粘度計を用いて作動流体組成物の絶対粘度(mPa・s)を測定した。作動流体組成物の冷媒溶解粘度R-Vis(mm2/s)は、測定された絶対粘度P(mPa・s)を作動流体組成物の密度Dw(g/cm3)で除したP/Dwとして求めた。作動流体組成物の密度Dw(g/cm3)は、以下の式によって算出した。

まず、振動式粘度計、温度計、圧力計を取り付けた耐圧容器(容積V=400cm3)に、冷凍機油100gを充填し、耐圧容器内を真空脱気した後、冷媒(R290)を充填し、温度80℃、絶対圧力2.8MPaの条件となるように、作動流体の温度及び耐圧容器内の圧力を調整し、冷凍機油及び冷媒とからなる作動流体組成物を調製した。所定条件とならない場合は冷凍機油の充填量も適宜調整した。この条件において、振動式粘度計を用いて作動流体組成物の絶対粘度(mPa・s)を測定した。作動流体組成物の冷媒溶解粘度R-Vis(mm2/s)は、測定された絶対粘度P(mPa・s)を作動流体組成物の密度Dw(g/cm3)で除したP/Dwとして求めた。作動流体組成物の密度Dw(g/cm3)は、以下の式によって算出した。

作動流体組成物における冷媒分率S(質量%)は、上記の冷媒溶解粘度の測定と同じ条件にて、冷凍機油及び冷媒の充填量と、耐圧容器内の冷媒蒸気部分の容積及び冷媒蒸気密度とから、以下の式によって算出した。

オイルレート(冷凍機油の量(g)/冷凍機油の量及び冷媒の量の合計(g)×100)(質量%)が20質量%であるときの低温側二層分離温度を測定した。具体的には、冷凍機油20gと冷媒(R290)80gとを用いて、低温側二層分離温度を測定した。
