The velocity, position, and orientation of an object are tracked by integrating acceleration and angular velocity over time. IMU suffers error propagation in measurements. The accumulated error, which is known as drift, grows rapidly and makes the IMU output unreliable for navigation purposes. Thus, usually, IMU is fused with the GPS for improved results. But, the IMU needs calibration, which is done by rotating the sensor in all directions for accurate measurements. Abstract

Le système de navigation d'un dispositif mobile tel qu'un chariot de golf à conduite autonome vers un utilisateur comprend un serveur en communication avec le dispositif mobile qui est en communication avec une télécommande portée par l'utilisateur. Lorsque la distance surveillée entre le dispositif mobile et la télécommande/l'utilisateur dépasse une distance prédéfinie, les grilles d'une résolution donnée sont imposées sur l'image satellite de la zone d'intérêt (AOI), ce qui permet au dispositif mobile de suivre et de naviguer vers l'utilisateur en suivant un trajet passant par les points centraux des grilles respectives, empêchant ainsi un mouvement en zigzag du chariot.
