Abstract
A method for producing hydrogen includes: increasing the pressure of an initial feedstock in the form of natural gas using compressor equipment, and/or of liquefied petroleum gas and/or light gasoline and/or hydrocarbon mixtures using pumping equipment; mixing the initial feedstock with a stream of hydrogen to produce a feed stream; heating the feed stream and purifying same of sulphur compounds in a catalytic hydrogenation reactor and a system of desulphurization reactors, which are connected in series. Next, the purified feed stream is mixed with water vapour, the resulting mixture is heated and fed into an adiabatic pre-reforming reactor, and the resulting reaction mixture is mixed with water vapour and heated before being fed into a steam reformer furnace to produce synthesis gas. The synthesis gas is cooled and fed into a carbon monoxide conversion reactor. The converted synthesis gas is then sent for two-stage purification. The hydrogen obtained is divided into two streams: the first stream is sent for mixing with the initial feedstock upstream of the catalytic hydrogenation reactor, and the second stream is sent to consumers. The invention makes it possible to increase the yield of hydrogen and to reduce the energy and material costs of production, while improving the environmental friendliness thereof.
