Definitions
- the present invention relates to an electrolytic solution for a hybrid type solid electrolytic capacitor that uses both a solid electrolyte and an electrolytic solution, and the solid electrolytic capacitor.
- Electrolytic capacitors that use valve action metals such as tantalum or aluminum have a positive electrode made of a sintered body made by sintering powder of the valve action metal, or a stretched foil made of the valve action metal that is etched to reduce the surface area. By providing an anode electrode with an enlarged surface area, a large capacity can be obtained with a small size.
- solid electrolytic capacitors which have a dielectric oxide film covered with a solid electrolyte, have characteristics such as being small, large capacitance, and low equivalent series resistance, as well as being easy to chip and suitable for surface mounting. , is essential for making electronic devices smaller, more sophisticated, and lower in cost.
- TCNQ 7,7,8,8-tetracyanoquinodimethane
- conductive polymers derived from monomers with ⁇ -conjugated double bonds such as poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT), which has excellent adhesion to dielectric oxide films, have been used as solid electrolytes. It is rapidly becoming popular as PEDOT
- Examples of the conductive polymer include conductive polymers that exhibit conductivity when an external dopant is used.
- the external dopant is a low-molecular anion, a polyanion such as an organic sulfonic acid, etc., and is used during chemical oxidative polymerization or electrolytic oxidative polymerization to exhibit high electrical conductivity.
- examples of the conductive polymer include self-doped conductive polymers.
- a self-doped conductive polymer has a molecule that acts as a dopant in its monomer molecule, and is endowed with conductivity and solubility in a solvent.
- solid electrolytic capacitors have a capacitor element impregnated with an electrolytic solution and have a poor repair effect on defects in the dielectric oxide film compared to liquid electrolytic capacitors that do not have a solid electrolyte layer. Therefore, a so-called hybrid type solid electrolytic capacitor is attracting attention, in which a solid electrolyte layer is formed on a capacitor element in which an anode foil and a cathode foil are opposed, and an electrolyte is impregnated into the gap in the capacitor element (for example, Patent Document (see 1).
- the conductivity deteriorates due to the dedoping reaction of the dopant, and the ESR of the solid electrolytic capacitor increases.
- the solid electrolyte layer is oxidized and deteriorated, resulting in an increase in the ESR of the solid electrolytic capacitor.
- Patent Document 1 reports that the dedoping reaction can be suppressed by making the molar ratio of the acid component and the base component, which are solute components in the electrolytic solution, excessive. . This report assumes that the dedoping reaction is suppressed because the dopant, which is an acid component, and the acid component in the electrolyte maintain an equilibrium state.
- Patent Document 1 discloses the use of phenol, methylphenol, ethylphenol, pyrogallol, hydroquinone, pyrocatechol, tocopherol, butylhydroxyanisole, dibutylhydroxytoluene, and benzoic acid. , aromatic compounds such as salicylic acid, resorcinic acid, and benzotriazole, amine compounds, silane compounds, quinone compounds, and carboxylic acid compounds. Patent Document 1 states that as a result of hydrogen bond formation between the acid component and the antioxidant, the electronic resonance structure of the aromatic compound is stabilized, which activates the antioxidant and increases the deterioration suppressing ability. has been done.
- FIG. 1 is a graph showing the capacitance change ( ⁇ Cap) for each charging/discharging cycle under various temperature atmospheres of a solid electrolytic capacitor using both a solid electrolyte layer and an electrolytic solution.
- the circle-marked plot is a graph under a 150°C atmosphere
- the triangle-marked plot is a graph under a 0°C atmosphere
- the square-marked plot is a graph under a -40°C atmosphere.
- the present invention has been proposed in order to solve the above problems, and its purpose is to provide a solid electrolytic capacitor that suppresses deterioration of capacitance in a low-temperature environment of a solid electrolytic capacitor that includes a solid electrolyte layer and an electrolytic solution.
- the purpose of the present invention is to provide an electrolytic solution for capacitors and a solid electrolytic capacitor.
- Table 1 below shows that the solid electrolytic capacitor of Reference Example 1 having only a solid electrolyte layer and the solid electrolytic capacitor of Reference Example 2 having a solid electrolyte layer and an electrolyte are placed in a temperature environment of -40°C, and are further heated at 25 V DC. A load of 3,100 cycles of charging and discharging were repeated. One cycle consists of 10 seconds of charging and 10 seconds of discharging. Then, changes in capacitance before the charge/discharge test and after 3100 cycles of charge/discharge were measured.
- the solid electrolytic capacitor of Reference Example 1 having only a solid electrolyte layer shows little deterioration in capacitance in a low-temperature environment despite the presence of a conductive polymer.
- the solid electrolytic capacitor of Reference Example 2 which has a solid electrolyte layer and an electrolytic solution, the conductive polymer deteriorates due to peroxidation, and the capacitance deteriorates significantly.
- the present inventors conducted further intensive research and found that a compound with an oxidation onset voltage much lower than the peroxidation voltage of the conductive polymer was used as a solid electrolyte containing a conductive polymer that deteriorates due to peroxidation. Further knowledge was obtained that by adding it to the electrolyte side rather than to the layer, peroxidation deterioration of the conductive polymer can be suppressed favorably. Based on this knowledge, the present inventors have been able to study compounds that have an oxidation initiation potential of 0.22 V or less and can be added to the electrolytic solution. Based on this knowledge, we have completed the present invention.

Description

ΔCap=(Ca-Cb)÷Ca×100
ΔCap=(Ca-Cb)÷Ca×100
