Definitions
- the object of the invention and the solution to the problem are a filling device according to patent claim 1, a filling machine according to patent claim 11 and a method for filling containers in a filling machine with a filling device according to patent claim 13.
- the filling process can take place more quickly, more variably and/or more reliably as a result of the two liquid outlets that are separate and spaced apart from one another.
- filling can take place, in particular in a free jet, while the product to be filled in is filled in with the outer liquid mouth adjacent to or preferably on a container wall.
- the cross sections available for the passage of the product to be filled in and the flow behavior can be improved within the scope of the invention, with gas displaced from the container being able to be discharged through the gas opening arranged between the inner and outer liquid opening.
- the inner liquid opening can be formed on a pipe section extending into the container according to a variant of the invention.
- the drop height of the product to be filled is reduced according to the reach-in depth.
- a sufficient distance is to be provided up to the bottom of the container in order to ensure an even outflow of liquid at the inner opening of the liquid.
- the inner liquid orifice itself is usually cylindrical, in particular circular-cylindrical, and preferably runs along a vertical central axis or axis of symmetry. Precisely so that gas can be discharged effectively even with high pouring capacities and in order to achieve the most uniform possible flow of the filled product, the product is expediently guided directly onto the container wall with the outer liquid opening. Depending on the shape of the container, the product flow entering the container wall will then continue to follow the contour, for example a widening of a bottle.
- the flexibility of the filling device according to the invention also enables only the inner liquid outlet or the outer liquid outlet to be used during a filling process, given the appropriate boundary conditions.
- the filling device is used on a beverage filling machine for different bottle types that differ in their geometry.
- the inner liquid orifice and the outer liquid orifice can then be used alternatively to one another or in combination, with the opening and closing times of the valve means being able to be adapted during a single filling process—as already explained above.
- container geometries are sometimes provided that are not or only partially suitable for filling via the container wall due to relatively strong contour changes in a head area.
- the filling device according to the invention it can then be provided that only the inner liquid opening is used for filling in the free jet, in which case if necessary a longer time for the filling process and thus a reduction in throughput must be accepted.
- first liquid branch and the second liquid branch are connected to separate inlets that are separate from one another.
- the filling device has only one inlet for the product, in which case a branching of the liquid path system into the first liquid branch and the second liquid branch is formed between the outlet and a feed area with the feed on a distribution structure. The product is then divided between the two liquid branches at the distribution structure.
- the filling device or the beverage filling machine formed with it can be provided and set up without restriction for pressure filling and pressureless filling.
- the time-different control of the first liquid subset and the second liquid subset can be provided during a filling process.
- it may be expedient to begin with the filling of the second liquid subset first so that the first liquid subset filled in as a free jet does not hit the container bottom directly at high speed at the beginning of the filling process.
- variable control with further possible variations can be provided.
- Valve means for the first liquid subset and/or the second liquid subset can also be actuated multiple times during a filling process, in particular for the optimization of the filling process. For example, in the case of a single filling process for the central filling and/or the wall-side filling, an intermittent, possibly also multiple, interruption can be provided.
- FIG. 6 shows a further alternative embodiment of a filling device according to the invention in a schematic representation
- FIG. 7 shows a further alternative embodiment of a filling device according to the invention which is particularly suitable for containers in the form of cans.
- FIG. 1 shows a filling device for a beverage filling machine with an outlet 1 on the underside, which is connected via a seal 2 to a container 3, which in the exemplary embodiment shown is designed as a bottle.
- the bottle may be formed of glass or plastic and may be intended for a disposable or reusable system without limitation.
- Others too Containers 3 such as cans can be considered with a correspondingly adapted geometry of the filling device (see also the following for FIG. 7).
- the second liquid branch 10b merges via a second valve means 11b into an annular outer liquid orifice 12b which surrounds the circular-cylindrical inner liquid orifice 12a running along a vertical central axis M in the form of a circular ring.
- the gas path system 5 Starting from a gas connection 15, the gas path system 5 initially has a gas channel 16, the gas path system 5 being transferred from the gas channel 16 to an intermediate region 17 between the first liquid branch 10a and the second liquid branch 10b at the distribution structure 9.
- the intermediate area 17 finally leads to the gas outlet 13.
- the liquid path system 4 and the gas path system 5 intersect at the distribution structure 9, for which purpose passage openings 18a for the liquid path system 4 and passage openings 18b for the gas path system 5 distributed around the circumference are provided in the distribution structure 9.
- outer liquid opening 12b is delimited by an outer collar 19 on which the seal 2 already described above is arranged.
- FIG. 2 shows the filling device according to FIG. 1 with both valve means 11a, 11b in the open state.
- the product 20 to be filled in the form of a beverage is filled in as a free jet with a first partial amount of liquid via the inner liquid opening 12a, with a second partial amount of liquid of the product 20 being filled in at a container wall 21 of the container 3 .
- the partial amount of liquid filled in at the container wall 21 flows uniformly along the widening contour of the container wall 21 , gas 22 being discharged in an annular space between the central axis M and the container wall 21 via the gas opening 13 .
- valve means 11a, 11b can be switched separately, filling at the container wall 21 and filling by means of a free jet can be freely varied within the scope of the invention.
- it can be expedient to provide different points in time for the start and/or end of the filling process for the first liquid subset and the second liquid subset.
- the filling only takes place in a free jet (FIG. 3) or only via the container wall 21 (FIG. 4) due to the requirements that then have to be taken into account.
- the filling can only be provided with a free jet, for example, if the shape of the container wall 21 of a container 3 is not suitable for filling via the container wall 21 itself.
- FIG. 6 shows in a highly schematic manner that, according to a further variant of the invention, the first liquid branch 10a and the second liquid branch 10b are connected to separate inlets 6a, 6b that are separate from one another. It is thus possible to provide different liquids and to mix them only in the container 3 itself.
- bottles are shown as containers 3 by way of example, it being possible for the filling device to be set up for other containers as well.
- FIG. 7 shows an example of a filling device set up for containers 3 in the form of cans, the basic design and the general functionality corresponding to the versions described above.
- the cans provided as containers 3 should be rinsed with an inert fluid immediately before filling at the filling device.
- an inert fluid For example, when bottling beer or other sensitive products, the aim is to largely remove or at least reduce oxygen in order to avoid a qualitative impairment of the product and/or a reduction in the shelf life during subsequent storage.
- CO2 carbonic acid
- N2 nitrogen
- water vapor can be provided for flushing.
- different fluid paths are represented by different lines in FIG. 7 . It goes without saying that the various fluid paths are assigned to process steps that take place one after the other and are only shown together for the purpose of explanation.
- a rinsing fluid is introduced into the container 3 through the circular gas opening 13 and conducted via an outer annular gap 24 and through a bellows 25 to an outlet 26 for the rinsing fluid.
