Description

Description
Title of Invention : A compound for the production of Alkaliwaxed deodorant
Technical Field
[0001] Medical-Pharmaceutical Sciences (cosmetics)
Background Art
[0002] A patent in the United States under application number 20190282490 titled Nopal Cactus infused Natural Deodorant is registered, which discloses:
[0003] A topical deodorant composition comprising: Organic refined Shea butter; Organic Nopal Cactus; an ingredient selected from the group consisting of Sodium bicarbonate or Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth; Arrowroot starch; Organic Cocoa butter; Organic Mango Butter; Organic Carnauba Wax; Organic Bees Wax; Organic Coconut oil; Organic Apple Cider Vinegar; and pure essential oil extracts. A method of applying a topical deodorant composition of unrefined Shea butter, an ingredient selected from the group consisting of Sodium bicarbonate and Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth, Arrowroot Starch, Cocoa Butter, Mango Butter, pure essential oil; Nopal Cactus, Coconut oil, Apple Cider Vinegar, and optionally, Carnauba wax or Beeswax, said method comprising the step of applying said topical deodorant composition to an area of skin.
[0004] A process of manufacturing a topical deodorant composition, said process comprising: mixing unrefined Shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut oil and/or mango butter into a composition; heating said composition over hot water at approximately 100° F. to 120° F.; stirring said composition until said composition is melted; adding arrowroot starch and sodium bicarbonate into said composition; stirring and heating said composition over hot water at about 100° F. to about 120° F. until said Arrowroot starch and said sodium bicarbonate are completely dissolved; adding in Nopal Cactus after the composition has been completely dissolved and combining the Nopal Cactus with the composition until both the Nopal Cactus and the composition are evenly distributed throughout thereby producing the final composition. [0005] In this invention, the concentration of sodium bicarbonate used in the composition ranged between 18 and 25 percent, however in the claimed invention, the concentration is around 30 - 50 percent, which is at least twice the claimed amount of the aforementioned invention. Other compositions used in the claimed invention are different from those in the aforementioned invention. In addition, in this invention, nutritious oils are used, and as these oils are nutritious, they are a factor in the growth of unwanted hair and they are absorbed by the skin and have little stability on the skin to protect it from the alkaline effects of sodium bicarbonate. In our proposed formula, we have put a much more effective substitute for vegetable oils (fatty acids).
Technical Problem
[0006] Bacteria inhabit the surface of the body's skin, which are essential for human skin and are the normal flora of the skin. Staphylococcus epidermidis and Staphylococcus hominis are the most important of these bacteria, which are more concentrated in wrinkled areas of the body as these areas are warm, moist, and dark. The natural pH of human skin is (4.5-5.5), which is slightly higher in the wrinkled areas of the body and is closer to neutral pH. This neutral pH paves the way for more activity of skin bacteria.
[0007] Carboxylic acids in body sweat are lipids in nature, and the abovementioned bacteria by their incomplete decomposition produce substances called thio alcohol, which is responsible for the unpleasant smell of sweat. The unpleasant smell of sweat is often one of the critical concerns of humans in the field of health. For this reason, humans have always sought to find a way to overcome this issue.
[0008] Since 130 years enormous diverse products under as antiperspirant and deodorant have been produced and sold in the world ago that indicates the importance of this issue.
[0009] What is the problem?
[0010] The problem is that in spite of the effectiveness of these products in removing the unpleasant smell of sweat, the compounds used in these products are seriously harmful to human health. [0011] Scientists for recent years have been using new formulas in which harmful substances have been removed to make deodorant products safer. However, none of them has the desired efficiency in removing the unpleasant smell of sweat, so they can not be competitive with the product with harmful ingredients and it is often effective for 24 hours, while the products containing harmful substances are efficient for 48-72 hours. Even in a few cases, according to the claim of their inventors, they show durability for up to seven days.
[0012] • Harmful ingredients are known in antiperspirants and deodorants, their function, and side effects:
[0013] 1 : Alcohols (sodium stearic acid, cetyl alcohol, etc.) Function: prevent the colonization and growth of bacteria.
[0014] Side effects: It causes skin dryness and causes skin inflammation in people with sensitive skin with continuous use.
[0015] 2: Triclosan: Function: It is an antibiotic that directly kills the normal flora of the body.
[0016] Side effects: Triclosan is absorbed through the skin by the body and in case of continuous use; it causes antibiotic resistance in the consumer, which endangers human life.
[0017] 3: Rock flour: Function: due to the presence of lead oxide, it disinfects and controls the bacterial population of the armpit.
[0018] Side effects: lead oxide is toxic to the body, its constant use causes the accumulation of lead in the body, and its concentration reaches a toxic dose. Lead is deposited everywhere in the body (brain, heart, bones, teeth, hair, and liver) and causes function disorders, the most obvious effects of which are on brain development (here, mostly teenagers) and functional disorders of blood stem cells located in the red bone marrow (for all ages).
[0019] 4: Aluminum hydrochloride: It is considered to be a main and very effective and widely used substance in the world of antiperspirants. Function: After application, this molecule enters the sweat ducts, and when sweating begins, it combines with the water in the sweat and swells, blocking the sweat ducts, preventing the production and secretion of sweat, and the target area remains dry. [0020] Side effects: Aluminum is absorbed by the body and can cross the blood-brain barrier, and with continued use, it accumulates in the brain and creates plaques. These plaques are the main cause of Alzheimer's disease.
[0021 ] Aluminum also has hormone-like effects on the body, and because of this, it disrupts the function of most of the body's hormones such as growth hormone, estrogen hormone, etc.
[0022] In addition, the FDA has warned against the use of products containing aluminum for patients who has kidney failure. This element accumulates in the blood of people who are undergoing hemodialysis due to kidney failure and the body is not able to remove it.
[0023] At the same time, pathologists have found aluminum in malignant tumors located in the upper outer quadrant of the breast, which indicates the hazardous effect of aluminum element.
[0024] 5: Alum: its scientific name is potassium aluminum sulfate. Function: it has constriction effects on sweat ducts.
[0025] Side effects: This material contains aluminum. Although the molecule of potassium aluminum sulfate is larger than aluminum hydrochloride and is less likely to penetrate the sweat ducts, due to the proven dangers of aluminum for the body, its use is not free of problems and is not safe completely.
[0026] 6: Zirconium: It is used in the form of zirconium chloride in combination with aluminum hydrochloride in antiperspirant products. Function: This substance has the same function as aluminum hydrochloride but with higher strength.
[0027] Side effects: This substance causes delayed-type hypersensitivity (DTH) in some people and creates painful masses at the target point.
[0028] 7: Zinc oxide: Function: Having zinc element, it reduces the activity of bacteria.
[0029] Side effects: This material is not harmful to the body, but it has little power to remove unpleasant odors.
[0030] 8: Extracts of plants (field horsetail, lavender, etc.) Function: Some plants contain substances that prevent the growth and development of bacteria. [0031] Side effects: They are mostly harmless, but they have little ability to remove the unpleasant smell of sweat.
[0032] When the function and side effects of antiperspirants and deodorants are described, we need to address another important problem in these products, and that is the preservative agent called methylparaben.
[0033] Methylparaben is a well-known substance that is widely used by manufacturers to prevent microbial contamination of cosmetic products due to its good performance and reasonable price.
[0034] Methylparabens, unfortunately, show estrogen-like hormone effects in the body and disturb the balance of estrogen hormones in the body of women and men, so it can play a significant role in the occurrence of breast malignancy. This has caused some concerns about the use of methylparaben.
Solution to Problem
[0035] The presented formulation consists of natural and well-known compounds that are simultaneously safe, efficient and powerful.
[0036] This formula has a physical nature and contains the following ingredient:
[0037] Sodium bicarbonate 99% (food grade) *50% NaHCO3
[0038] 2: white beeswax*5%
[0039] C15H31 COOC30H61
[0040] 3: petroleum jelly (health-pharmaceutical grade) *40%
[0041] C15H15N
[0042] 4: zinc oxide (pharmaceutical grade)* 2%
[0043] ZnO
[0044] 5: lemon and orange essence* 3%.
[0045] The product does not contain water, preservative agent and color.
[0046] The designed formulation introduced Alkaliwaxed deodorant to the world of deodorants. This formulation is based on alkalization of the armpit with 48-hours stability, to prevent the growth and development of bacteria that produce unpleasant odors and to protect the skin against the alkaline effects of sodium bicarbonate effectively.
[0047] 1 : sodium bicarbonate: sodium salt is mixed with carbonic acid. This material is a moisture absorbent and deodorizer. The melting point starts at 50 degrees and its pH is around of 8.4. It is soluble in water, so its sodium is mixed with OH in sweat water and produces a soapy and odorless substance. This material provides the maximum acceptable level to prevent the growth of bacteria and fungi in the alkaline range(without damage of skin), makes the product unnecessary to have a preservative agent, and prevents the growth and development of bacteria that produce the unpleasant smell of sweat.
[0048] 2: White beeswax: white beeswax is a combination of fatty acids and long- chain alcohols. The main color of raw beeswax, which is harvested from the honeycomb, is yellow, and after purification, it becomes cream and then white. Its melting point is (62-64) degrees.
[0049] With vitamin A and collagen building, anti-inflammatory, and anti-microbial properties, White beeswax is considered a desirable substance for skin health. In addition, due to its special molecular space arrangement, it does not prevent the skin from breathing and causes water retention. It has an important role as a carrier for sodium bicarbonate, so that sodium bicarbonate remains stable in its intermolecular space for 48 hours (according to practical experience) and performs its function.
[0050] 3: Petroleum jelly: It is a semi-solid alkane from the chain of hydrocarbons, non-polar and hydrophobic, which is obtained from the distillation of crude oil. The sanitary-pharmaceutical grade of petroleum jelly has maximum purification, and the melting point is about 40° C.
[0051 ] This substance prevents dryness and loss of skin moisture by creating an impermeable layer against moisture. Petroleum jelly, due to its hydrophobicity and lower density than water, as soon as sweating starts in the formula (formula, is not a new chemical, but a new physical compound )it is located in the farthest area from the skin and prevents the evaporation of water in sweat. It also does not separate easily from the skin and does not absorb into the skin, so it is the best option to protect the skin against the adverse effects of sodium bicarbonate.
[0052] It also reduces the concentration and stiffness of White beeswax and is effective in making the product as lubricant.
[0053] Petroleum jelly does not have nutritious ingredients .so it does not increase the growth of armpit hair and it dose not increase the growth of bacteria.
[0054] 4: Zinc oxide: This substance has a high and recognized anti-inflammatory effect on the skin and is used to prevent inflammation caused by the alkaline pH of sodium bicarbonate and also to improve the texture and color of the product.
[0055] 5: Lemon and orange essential oil: oil-based essential (aromatics agent) are used, which create a gender-neutral scent and can be used by men and women and induces a sense of cleanliness.
[0056] Essential oil is used to cover the special smell of White beeswax and petroleum jelly too ,and increases the economic competitiveness of the product.
[0057] Method
[0058] After weighing, the aforementioned materials in order of White beeswax, petroleum jelly, zinc oxide, and sodium bicarbonate (they are ordered according to their melting point from top to bottom to avoid energy loss and possible changes in their molecules during the heating process) are poured into homogenizers for making thick creams, and the temperature is fixed at 65° C.
[0059] After the complete melting of white beeswax, petroleum jelly is added .After the complete melting of petroleum jelly ,zinc oxide is added. After the zinc oxide is relatively homogenized, sodium bicarbonate is added to the tank and after its complete homogenization, the temperature in the range of 55°-60° C is fixed and the essential oil is added and after it is homogenized, the product is ready to charge the containers.
[0060] The product cools and hardens quickly at room temperature and does not need a cooling stage.
Advantageous Effects of Invention
[0061 ] 1 : The product is devoid of compounds containing aluminum. [0062] 2: The product is devoid of compounds containing zirconium.
[0063] 3: The product is devoid of triclosan and any other antibiotics.
[0064] 4: The product is devoid of alcohol.
[0065] 5: The product is devoid of alum.
[0066] 6: The product is devoid of rock flour.
[0067] 7: The product is devoid of methyl paraben and any other preservatives agents.
[0068] 8: Its durability is at least 48 hours.
[0069] 9: Due to the peeling effects of sodium bicarbonate, the used area does not become gradually darkened. It also can remove dark armpit skin after three months of regular use.
[0070] 10: Two years expiration date without any preservatives.
[0071] Given the aforementioned benefits, this product is usable by teenagers, pregnant and breastfeeding women, and special patients without any health concerns.
[0072] Description of an implementation method:
[0073] This product is made in the traditional way of cream making and does not need new equipment and supplies. The basic equipment of the cream-making industry is enough to make it.
[0074] white beeswax, petroleum jelly, zinc oxide, and sodium bicarbonate in the production process of the raw materials, after weighing, are transferred to homogenizers for thick liquids and placed under a temperature of about 65 °C until the white beeswax becomes completely liquid. Then petroleum jelly is added and after it melts, zinc oxide is introduced. Zinc oxide does not melt at this temperature and its partial homogenization is sufficient. Then sodium bicarbonate enters the tank and after homogenization, the temperature is set to (55°-60°)C. At this stage, the essential oil added and the containers are charged (At the time of charging the containers, the temperature remains constant in the mentioned range and the homogenization operation continues).
