Definitions
- the present invention relates to a connector whose outside is made of a conductive metal material.
- EMC Electromagnetic Compatibility, electromagnetic compatibility
- the keying determination means determining which connector is a mating connector from among a plurality of types of connectors having similar shapes. Further, the visibility of keying determination refers to the characteristic that the mating connector can be visually determined.
- Patent Document 1 proposes a structure in which a colored resin member is put on the die-cast so as to cover it in order to improve the visibility of keying discrimination. According to this structure, good visibility for keying determination is ensured by the color of the resin member.
- the connector proposed in Patent Document 1 above is mounted on a circuit board and housed in a metal housing together with the circuit board.
- the housing is provided with an opening for mating a mating connector with the connector housed in the housing. placed in In order to improve the EMC resistance performance, it is desired to electrically connect the housing and the shield of the connector at a distance as short as possible.
- the outer wall of the connector fitting portion that fits with the mating connector is made of a resin material.
- the electrical connection with the housing can only be made on the rear side of the connector fitting portion, and the distance between the housing and the shield of the connector is large, and the EMC resistance performance is poor. may decrease.
- the latch piece for latching with the mating connector forms the outer wall of the connector fitting portion and extends to the vicinity of the tip thereof. and cannot be used as an electrical connection for shielding.
- the connector of the present invention for achieving the above object is a conductive substrate having a connector fitting portion formed with a fitting opening and receiving a mating connector inserted through the fitting opening; and a keying member that allows only a compatible mating connector inserted into the connector fitting portion to be inserted into the connector fitting portion.
- the connector of the present invention has a keying member. For this reason, by using a keying member of a different color for each of a plurality of types of mating connectors with different keyings, it is possible to improve the visibility of keying determination. Also, in the case of the connector of the present invention, the keying member is inserted into the connector fitting portion. Therefore, the outer wall of the connector fitting portion is a conductive substrate, and the metal housing and the shield of the connector can be electrically connected in a short distance, thereby improving the EMC performance.
- the outer surface of the keying member is not exposed from the base except for the front end portion on the fitting opening side. preferable.
- the base has locking holes that are open to the outer surface of the base and the inside of the connector fitting portion and that prevent the mating connector inserted into the connector fitting portion from coming off.
- the locking hole When the locking hole is provided, it is possible to employ a structure in which the locking portion of the mating connector is locked in the locking hole from the inside of the connector fitting portion. There is no need to further widen the opening of the housing for locking, and in this respect as well, the EMC performance can be improved.
- the insertion mounting portion in which the substrate is inserted into the circuit board and soldered and the insertion mounting portion contacting the surface of the circuit board when the insertion mounting portion is inserted into the circuit board. and a surface mount portion that is soldered to the surface.
- the connector is firmly fixed to the circuit board due to the presence of the insertion mounting part, and the connector and the ground of the circuit board are connected only by the insertion mounting part due to the presence of the surface mounting part.
- the electrical connection is stronger than that of the connection, and the EMC resistance performance is further improved.
- the board connection portion soldered to the circuit board and the contact portion extending in the connector fitting portion toward the mating connector side and coming into contact with the contacts of the mating connector inserted into the connector fitting portion are provided.
- the contact has a
