Abstract
Description
図1は、本開示の第1実施形態に係る排ガス浄化装置1Aの構成例を示す概念図である。排ガス浄化装置1Aは、重油又は石炭等の化石燃料を燃焼させて推進力を発生させる船舶2に搭載される。船舶2において推進力を発生させる燃焼機関としては、ガソリンエンジン或いはディーゼルエンジン等の内燃機関、又は、タービンとタービンに蒸気を供給するボイラとを含む外燃機関が挙げられる。図1に示す排ガス浄化装置1Aは、化石燃料の燃焼により発生する排ガスに含まれる二酸化硫黄等の硫黄酸化物を低減させる装置である。排ガス浄化装置1Aにより硫黄酸化物が低減された排ガスは、煙突3から、外部空間、具体的には大気、へ放出される。
吸収:SO2+H2O→H++HSO3 -
酸化:HSO3 -+(1/2)O2→H++SO4 2-
中和:HCO3 -+H+→H2O+CO2↑
図11は、本開示の第2実施形態に係る排ガス浄化装置1Bの構成例を示す図である。図11では図1におけるものと同一の構成要素には同一の符号が付されている。図11と図1とを比較すれば明らかなように、排ガス浄化装置1Bは、突出部100と連通する流路150を備える点が排ガス浄化装置1Aと異なる。流路15は、ダクト90の外周に沿って設けられる。
以上の各実施態様は多様に変形され得る。具体的な変形の態様を以下に例示する。以下の例示から任意に選択された2以上の態様は相矛盾しない限り適宜に併合され得る。
上記第1実施形態における排ガス浄化装置1Aは、吸収液の役割を果たす海水SWを船舶2の周囲から取り込み、使用済み吸収液を船舶2の外部へ放出するオープンループ型の排ガス浄化装置である。しかし、使用済み吸収液を再利用するクローズドループ型の排ガス浄化装置に、第1実施形態の技術的特徴が適用されてもよい。同様に、第2実施形態の技術的特徴が、クローズドループ型の排ガス浄化装置に適用されてもよい。クローズドループ型の排ガス浄化装置であっても、サイクロン式の排ガス浄化装置であれば、構造体の内周面を旋回しながら斜めに降下する液体が雫となって排ガスの流路に滴り落ちることに起因して圧力損失が発生し得るからである。
上記各実施形態における船舶2は海洋を航行する船舶であったが、淡水域を航行する船舶であってもよい。この場合、船舶2の周囲から吸引した水に水酸化ナトリウム又は水酸化マグネシウム等を添加してアルカリ成分を補充すればよい。つまり、本開示における吸収液は海水には限定されず、アルカリ成分を含むアルカリ水溶液であればよい。また、アルカリ成分もHCO3 -には限定されない。
上記各実施形態では、化石燃料を燃焼させて推進力を発生させる船舶に搭載される排ガス浄化装置に本開示を適用した形態が説明された。しかし、本開示の排ガス浄化装置は、火力発電所又は製鉄所等の陸上の固定施設、または、内燃機関を用いた発電機に適用されてもよい。また、本開示の排ガス浄化装置は、内燃機関或いは外燃機関により推進力を発生させる車両において、化石燃料を燃焼させることにより発生する排ガスの浄化に適用されてもよい。また、上記各実施形態におけるスワラ80は本開示の必須構成要素ではなく、省略されてもよい。
本開示の排ガス浄化装置の一態様は、サイクロン式の排ガス浄化装置であって、円筒状の構造体10と、ダクト90と、噴霧装置20と、突出部100と、を有する。構造体10には、4つの角を有する四角形状の開口11が設けられる。ダクト90は、構造体10の開口11に接続される。ダクト90には、化石燃料の燃焼により発生する排ガスが流れ込む。噴霧装置20は、排ガスに含まれる硫黄酸化物を吸収するためのアルカリ成分を含む吸収液を構造体10内に噴霧する。突出部100は、構造体10の開口11の4つの角のうち、前記硫黄酸化物の吸収後に構造体10の内周面に沿って斜めに降下する前記吸収液の流れにおける最も上流に位置する一の角(最上流角α)を構成する2つの辺(第1辺111および第2辺112)に沿って設けられる。本態様の排ガス浄化装置では、構造体10の内周面に沿って旋回しながら斜めに降下する液体は突出部100によって受け止められる。突出部100によって受け止められた液体は突出部100に沿って案内されて構造体10の底部へ流れ落ちるので、当該液体が排ガスの流路に滴り落ちることはなく、構造体10の内周面に沿って旋回しながら斜めに降下する液体に起因する圧力損失が抑制される。
Claims (5)
- 4つの角を有する四角形状の開口が設けられた円筒状の構造体と、
前記開口に接続され、化石燃料の燃焼により発生する排ガスが流れ込むダクトと、
前記排ガスに含まれる硫黄酸化物を吸収するためのアルカリ成分を含む吸収液を前記構造体内に噴霧する噴霧装置と、
前記開口の4つの角のうち、前記硫黄酸化物の吸収後に前記構造体の内周面に沿って斜めに降下する前記吸収液の流れにおける最も上流に位置する一の角を構成する2つの辺に沿って設けられる突出部と、
を有するサイクロン式の排ガス浄化装置。 - 前記突出部は、
前記2つの辺のうちの一方の辺である第1辺に沿って設けられる第1部材と、
前記2つの辺のうちの他方の辺である第2辺に沿って設けられる第2部材と、を備え、
前記構造体の内周面と前記第1部材とによって第1溝が画定され、
前記構造体の内周面と前記第2部材とによって第2溝が画定され、
前記第1溝は、前記第2溝に連続する、
請求項1に記載のサイクロン式の排ガス浄化装置。 - 前記第1辺に垂直な平面によって切断された前記第1部材の断面はL字型であり、前記第2辺に垂直な平面によって切断された前記第2部材の断面はL字型である、請求項2に記載のサイクロン式の排ガス浄化装置。
- 前記突出部と連通し、前記ダクトの外周に沿って設けられた流路を備える、請求項1に記載のサイクロン式の排ガス浄化装置。
- 前記ダクトは、前記開口を介して前記構造体の内部に向けて突出する先端部を有し、
当該排ガス浄化装置は、
前記先端部に設けられたフランジと、
第1端と第2端とを有し、前記ダクトを包囲し、前記第1端が前記構造体の外周面に接続される管と、
前記第2端と前記ダクトとを接続する壁部材と、を備え、
前記突出部は、前記ダクトのうち前記構造体の内部に向けて突出する部分の外周面と前記フランジとにより構成され、
前記流路は、前記管の内周面、前記ダクトの一部の外周面、及び前記壁部材により画定される、請求項4に記載のサイクロン式の排ガス浄化装置。
