 本発明は、上記目的を達成するために、互いに接続される雄部材と雌部材からなる医療用の継手であって、前記雄部材は、内部に流路を有する雄部材本体と、前記雄部材本体の周囲に設けられた雄部材側周壁部とを備え、前記雌部材は、内部に流路を有する雌部材本体と、前記雌部材本体の周囲に設けられた雌部材側周壁部とを備え、前記雄部材側周壁部と前記雌部材側周壁部は、先端部に複数の咬合凸部および咬合凹部が周方向に沿って交互に形成されており、前記雄部材と前記雌部材が接続される際、前記雄部材本体と前記雌部材本体が嵌合するとともに、前記雄部材側周壁部と前記雌部材側周壁部の咬合凸部および咬合凹部が互いに咬合することを特徴とする。
 これによれば、雄部材本体と雌部材本体が嵌合するとともに、雄部材側周壁部と雌部材側周壁部の咬合凸部および咬合凹部が互いに咬合するため、雄部材と雌部材を強固に接続することができる。また、雄部材と雌部材が接続された際、雄部材本体と雌部材本体が雄部材側周壁部および雌部材側周壁部に周囲を覆われた状態となるため、外部からの埃、塵、あるいは手術時等に生じる各種液体などから継手を防護することができる。さらに、継手の雄部材の雌部材が接続される際、雄部材側周壁部と雌部材側周壁部の咬合凸部および咬合凹部の形状、大きさ、位置、個数の少なくともいずれか一つが異なる場合、該継手の雄部材と雌部材は正しく接続されないため、継手の雄部材と雌部材の誤接続を防止することができる。
 また、前記雄部材本体は、前記雄部材側周壁部の咬合凸部よりも軸方向に突出する高さに形成されてもよい。これによれば、雄部材と雌部材が接続される際、雄部材本体の先端部を雌部材本体の先端部に合わせて嵌合させ易くなる。
 また、前記雄部材側周壁部の咬合凸部は、前記雄部材本体との間に所定の空間が設けられており、前記雄部材と前記雌部材が接続される際、前記雄部材側周壁部の咬合凸部と前記雄部材本体の間の当該空間に前記雌部材の前記雌部材本体が嵌入するものとなされてもよい。これによれば、雄部材と雌部材が接続された際、雄部材側周壁部の咬合凸部が雌部材本体の外周面を径方向外側から支承するため、継手の雄部材と雌部材をより強固に接続することができる。
 また、前記雄部材側周壁部の咬合凸部は、内周面に係合凸部が形成される一方、前記雌部材本体は、外周面に係合凹部が形成され、前記雄部材と前記雌部材が接続される際、前記雄部材側周壁部の係合凸部と前記雌部材本体の係合凹部が互いに係合してもよい。これによれば、雄部材と雌部材が接続される際、雄部材側周壁部の係合凸部と雌部材本体の係合凹部が互いに係合するため、継手の雄部材と雌部材をより強固に接続することができる。
 また、前記雌部材側周壁部の咬合凸部は、前記雄部材と前記雌部材が接続された際に前記雌部材本体の外周面に当接する位置に設けられてもよい。これによれば、雄部材と雌部材が接続された際、雌部材側周壁部の咬合凸部が雄部材側周壁部の咬合凸部と共に雌部材本体の外周面を径方向外側から支承するため、継手の雄部材と雌部材をより強固に接続することができる。
 また、前記継手が複数組設けられた継手セットであって、各組の継手は、前記雄部材側周壁部と前記雌部材側周壁部の咬合凸部および咬合凹部の形状、大きさ、位置、個数の少なくともいずれか一つが互いに異なるように形成されてもよい。これによれば、雄部材側周壁部と前記雌部材側周壁部の咬合凸部および咬合凹部の形状、大きさ、位置、個数のいずれも一致する正規の組の雄部材と雌部材については、雄部材側周壁部と雌部材側周壁部の咬合凸部と咬合凹部が互いに咬合するため、雄部材と雌部材を正しく接続することができる。一方、雄部材側周壁部と前記雌部材側周壁部の咬合凸部および咬合凹部の形状、大きさ、位置、個数の少なくともいずれか一つが異なる非正規の組の雄部材と雌部材については、雄部材側周壁部と雌部材側周壁部の咬合凸部と咬合凹部が互いに咬合し得ないため、雄部材と雌部材を正しく接続することができない。これにより正規の組の雄部材と雌部材の接続を許容する一方、非正規の組の雄部材と雌部材の接続を妨げるため、医療現場における様々な用途や目的などに応じて複数組の継手を安全に使い分けることが可能となる。
 また、各組の継手は、前記雄部材側周壁部と前記雌部材側周壁部に同一の色が着色され、各組の継手の間において該色が互いに異なるように着色されてもよい。これによれば、正規の組の雄部材と雌部材を視覚的に判別し得るため、継手の雄部材と雌部材の誤接続をより一層防止することができる。
 本発明によれば、雄部材本体と雌部材本体が嵌合するとともに、雄部材側周壁部と雌部材側周壁部の咬合凸部および咬合凹部が互いに咬合するため、雄部材と雌部材を強固に接続することができる。また、雄部材と雌部材が接続された際、雄部材本体と雌部材本体が雄部材側周壁部および雌部材側周壁部に周囲を覆われた状態となるため、外部からの埃、塵、あるいは手術時等に生じる各種液体などから継手を防護することができる。さらに、継手の雄部材と雌部材が接続される際、雄部材側周壁部と雌部材側周壁部の咬合凸部および咬合凹部の形状、大きさ、位置、個数の少なくともいずれか一つが異なる場合、該継手の雄部材と雌部材は正しく接続されないため、継手の雄部材と雌部材の誤接続を防止することができる。

 本発明に係る継手が複数組設けられた継手セットの実施形態について図1~図6を参照しつつ説明する。
 本継手セットは、図1および図2に示すように、第1の組の継手1a、第2の組の継手1b、第3の組の継手1cの3組の継手が設けられた継手セットである。
 なお、本明細書では、第1の組の継手1a、第2の組の継手1b、第3の組の継手1cにおいて同一の構成部材には同一の数字を付すとともに、第1の組の継手1aの構成部材の数字に「a」の文字を付し、第2の組の継手1bの構成部材の数字に「b」の文字を付し、第3の組の継手1cの構成部材の数字に「c」を付すものとする。以下では、まず第1の組の継手1aについて詳細に説明し、次に第2の継手1bおよび第3の組の継手1cについて第1の組の継手1aとの相違点を中心に説明する。
 前記第1の組の継手1aは、図3に示すように、互いに接続されるチューブC1、C2の境界部分に設けられる雄部材10aと雌部材20aから構成される。
 前記雄部材10aは、チューブC1に連結され、内部に薬液や気体等の流体が流される流路P1が形成された雄部材本体11aと、雄部材本体11aの周囲に設けられた雄部材側周壁部12aを備えている。一方、雌部材20aは、チューブC2に連結され、内部に薬液や気体等の流体が流される流路P2が形成された雌部材本体21aと、雌部材本体21aの周囲に設けられた雌部材側周壁部22aと、雌部材側周壁部22aのチューブC2側に図示略の枠体等に掛け止められる掛止部材23aとを備えている。
 前記雄部材本体11aと雌部材本体21aは、互いに嵌合し得る長さおよび径の円筒状に形成されており、雄部材10aと雌部材20aが接続される際、雄部材本体11aが雌部材本体21aに嵌合するものとなされている。
 また、前記雄部材本体11aは、先端の周縁部にテーパ状の傾斜面111aが設けられ、雌部材本体21aに嵌合させ易くなっている。
 また、前記雄部材本体11aは、外周面に周方向に延びる環状の溝が形成され、当該溝にパッキン等のシール部材112aが嵌め込まれ、シール部材112aにより雌部材本体21aに密着状態に嵌合するようになっている。
 また、前記雄部材本体11aは、雄部材側周壁部12aの咬合凸部122aよりも軸方向に突出する高さに形成されており、雄部材本体11aの先端部を雌部材本体21aの先端部に合わせて嵌合させ易くなっている。
 また、前記雌部材本体21aは、図5(b)に示すように、外周面において周方向に延び径方向内側に陥凹した係合凹部211aが形成されている。この係合凹部211aは、雄部材10aと雌部材20aが接続される際、後述の雄部材側周壁部12aの係合凸部124aと係合する。
 前記雄部材側周壁部12aは、周壁部本体121aの先端部から軸方向に延びるように形成された4個の咬合凸部122aと、咬合凸部122aの間に形成された4個の咬合凹部123aとが設けられ、これら咬合凸部122aと咬合凹部123aが周方向に沿って交互に配置されている。一方、前記雌部材側周壁部22aは、周壁部本体221aの先端部から軸方向に延びるように形成された4個の咬合凸部222aと、咬合凸部222aの間に形成された4個の咬合凹部223aとが設けられ、これら咬合凸部222aと咬合凹部223aが周方向に沿って交互に配置されている。なお、雌部材側周壁部22aは、雄部材側周壁部12aよりも外径が若干大きくなるように形成されている。
 前記雄部材側周壁部12aの咬合凸部122aと前記雌部材側周壁部22aの咬合凹部223aは、互いに形状(輪郭)、大きさ(軸方向の長さ及び周方向の幅)、位置(周方向および径方向の位置)、個数(4個)のいずれも一致するように形成されている。一方、前記雄部材側周壁部12aの咬合凹部123aと前記雌部材側周壁部22aの咬合凸部222aも、互いに互いに形状(輪郭)、大きさ(軸方向の長さ及び周方向の幅)、位置(周方向および径方向の位置)、個数(4個)のいずれも一致するように形成されている。なお、第1の組の継手1aにおいて、雄部材側周壁部12aの咬合凸部122aと雌部材側周壁部22aの咬合凸部222aは、周方向の幅比が概ね2対1となるように形成されている。
 而して、雄部材10aと雌部材20aが接続される際、雄部材側周壁部12aの咬合凸部122aが雌部材側周壁部22aの咬合凹部223aに嵌るとともに、雌部材側周壁部22aの咬合凸部222aが雄部材側周壁部12aの咬合凹部123aに嵌ることにより、雄部材側周壁部12aと雌部材側周壁部22aの咬合凸部122a、222aおよび咬合凹部123a、223aが互いに隙間なく咬合する。
 なお、前記雄部材側周壁部12aの咬合凸部122aは、雄部材本体11aとの間に所定の空間が設けられており、雄部材10aと雌部材20aが接続された際、雄部材側周壁部12aの咬合凸部122aと雄部材本体11aの間の当該空間に雌部材20aの雌部材本体21aが嵌入するようになっている。これによれば、雄部材10aと雌部材20aが接続された際、雄部材側周壁部12aの咬合凸部122aが雌部材本体21aの外周面を径方向外側から支承するため、継手1aの雄部材10aと雌部材20aをより強固に接続することができる。
 また、前記雄部材側周壁部12aの咬合凸部122aは、図5(b)に示すように、内周面に径方向内側に突出した係合凸部124aが形成されている。この係合凸部124aは、雄部材10aと雌部材20aが接続される際、上述のように雌部材本体21aの係合凹部211aと係合することにより、継手1aの雄部材10aと雌部材20aをより強固に接続することができる。
 また、前記雌部材側周壁部22aの咬合凸部222aは、雌部材本体21aとの間に若干の隙間が設けられる位置に設けられており、雄部材10aと雌部材20aが接続された際、雌部材本体21aが径方向外側に若干拡がることにより、雌部材本体21aの外周面に当接する。これによれば、雄部材10aと雌部材20aが接続された際、雌部材側周壁部22aの咬合凸部222aが雄部材側周壁部12aの咬合凸部122aと共に雌部材本体21aの外周面を径方向外側から支承するため、継手1aの雄部材10aと雌部材20aをより強固に接続することができる。なお、前記雌部材側周壁部22aの咬合凸部222aは、雌部材本体21aの外周面にあらかじめ当接する位置に設けられてもよい。
 前記掛止部材23aは、図3および図5(a)に示すように、雌部材側周壁部22aに隣接して設けられた第1掛止部231aと、第1掛止部231aのチューブC2側に設けられた第2掛止部232aと、第1の掛止部231aに対して第2掛止部232aを軸方向に進退させるためのネジ部233aとを備える。これによれば、第1掛止部231aと第2掛止部232aの間に枠体等を配置した状態において、第2掛止部232aをネジ部233a上を第1掛止部231a側に螺進させれば、第1掛止部231aと第2掛止部232aにより枠体等を挟着することができ、継手1aの全体を枠体に掛け止めることが可能となる。
 なお、図4および図5は、第2掛止部232aを取り外した状態を表している。また、図中のH1、H2は、チューブC1、C2と雄部材10a、雌部材10bの接続部分を被覆するカバー部材である。
 以上の第1の継手1aの雄部材10aと雌部材20aの構造によれば、雄部材10aと雌部材20aが接続される際、雄部材本体11aと雌部材本体21aが嵌合するとともに、雄部材側周壁部12aと雌部材側周壁部22aの咬合凸部122a、222aおよび咬合凹部123a、223aが互いに咬合するため、雄部材10aと雌部材20aを強固に接続することができる。
 また、雄部材10aと雌部材20aが接続された際、雄部材本体11aと雌部材本体21aが雄部材側周壁部12aおよび雌部材側周壁部22aに周囲を覆われた状態となるため、外部からの埃、塵、あるいは手術時等に生じる各種液体などから継手を防護することができる。
 さらに、継手1aの雄部材10aと雌部材20aが接続される際、雄部材側周壁部12aと雌部材側周壁部22aの咬合凸部122a、222aおよび咬合凹部123a、223aの形状、大きさ、位置、個数の少なくともいずれか一つが異なる場合、該継手1aの雄部材10aと雌部材20aは正しく接続されないため、継手1aの雄部材10aと雌部材10aの誤接続を防止することができる。
 次に、第2の組の継手1bについて説明する。
 前記第2の組の継手1bにおいて、前記雄部材側周壁部12bは、周壁部本体121bの先端部に各2個の咬合凸部122bおよび咬合凹部123bが周方向に沿って交互に形成されている。一方、前記雌部材側周壁部22bは、周壁部本体221bの先端部に各2個の咬合凸部222bおよび咬合凹部223bが周方向に沿って交互に形成されている。
 前記雄部材側周壁部12bの咬合凸部122bと前記雌部材側周壁部22bの咬合凹部223bは、互いに形状(輪郭)、大きさ(軸方向の長さ及び周方向の幅)、位置(周方向および径方向の位置)、個数(2個)のいずれも一致するように形成されている。一方、前記雄部材側周壁部12bの咬合凹部123bと前記雌部材側周壁部22bの咬合凸部222bも、互いに形状(輪郭)、大きさ(軸方向の長さ及び周方向の幅)、位置(周方向および径方向の位置)、個数(2個)のいずれも一致するように形成されている。なお、第2の組の継手1bにおいて、雄部材側周壁部12bの咬合凸部122bと雌部材側周壁部22bの咬合凸部222bは、周方向の幅比が概ね3対1となるように形成されている。
 而して、雄部材10bと雌部材20bが接続される際、雄部材側周壁部12bの咬合凸部122bが雌部材側周壁部22bの咬合凹部223bに嵌るとともに、雌部材側周壁部22bの咬合凸部222bが雄部材側周壁部12bの咬合凹部123bに嵌ることにより、雄部材側周壁部12bと雌部材側周壁部22bの咬合凸部122b、222bおよび咬合凹部123b、223bが互いに隙間なく咬合する。
 次に、第3の組の継手1cについて説明する。
 前記第3の組の継手1cにおいて、前記雄部材側周壁部12cは、周壁部本体121cの先端部に各3個の咬合凸部122cおよび咬合凹部123cが周方向に沿って交互に形成されている。一方、前記雌部材側周壁部22cは、周壁部本体221cの先端部に各3個の咬合凸部222cおよび咬合凹部223cが周方向に沿って交互に形成されている。
 前記雄部材側周壁部12cの咬合凸部122cと前記雌部材側周壁部22cの咬合凹部223cは、互いに形状(輪郭)、大きさ(軸方向の長さ及び周方向の幅)、位置(周方向および径方向の位置)、個数(3個)のいずれも一致するように形成されている。一方、前記雄部材側周壁部12cの咬合凹部123cと前記雌部材側周壁部22cの咬合凸部222cも、互いに形状(輪郭)、大きさ(軸方向の長さ及び周方向の幅)、位置(周方向および径方向の位置)、個数(3個)のいずれも一致するように形成されている。なお、第3の組の継手1cにおいて、雄部材側周壁部12cの咬合凸部122cと雌部材側周壁部22cの咬合凸部222cは、周方向の幅比が概ね2対1となるように形成されている。
 而して、雄部材10cと雌部材20cが接続される際、雄部材側周壁部12cの咬合凸部122cが雌部材側周壁部22cの咬合凹部223cに嵌るとともに、雌部材側周壁部22cの咬合凸部222cが雄部材側周壁部12cの咬合凹部123cに嵌ることにより、雄部材側周壁部12cと雌部材側周壁部22cの咬合凸部122c、222cおよび咬合凹部123c、223cが互いに隙間なく咬合する。
 このように、各組の継手1a、1b、1cは、雄部材側周壁部12a、12b、12cと雌部材側周壁部22a、22b、22cの咬合凸部122a、122b、122c、222a、222b、222cおよび咬合凹部123a、123b、123c、223a、223b、223cの形状、大きさ、位置、個数の全てが互いに異なるように形成されている。
 これによれば、図6に示すように、雄部材側周壁部12と雌部材側周壁部22の咬合凸部122、222および咬合凹部123、223の形状、大きさ、位置、個数のいずれも一致する正規の組の雄部材10と雌部材20(例えば図6における雄部材10aと雌部材20a)については、雄部材側周壁部12と雌部材側周壁部22の咬合凸部122、222と咬合凹部123、223が互いに咬合するため、雄部材10と雌部材20を正しく接続することができる。一方、雄部材側周壁部12と雌部材側周壁部22の咬合凸部122、222および咬合凹部123、223の形状、大きさ、位置、個数の少なくともいずれか一つが異なる非正規の組の雄部材10と雌部材20(例えば図6における雄部材10b、10cと雌部材20a)については、雄部材側周壁部12と雌部材側周壁部22の咬合凸部122、222と咬合凹部123、223が互いに咬合し得ないため、雄部材10と雌部材20を正しく接続することができない。これにより正規の組の雄部材10と雌部材20の接続を許容する一方、非正規の組の雄部材10と雌部20の接続を妨げるため、医療現場における様々な用途や目的などに応じて複数組の継手1を安全に使い分けることが可能となる。
 なお、各組の継手1は、雄部材側周壁部12と雌部材側周壁部22に同一の色が着色され、各組の継手1の間において該色(例えば、第1の組の継手1aは青色、第2の組の継手1bは緑色、第3の組の継手1cは赤色)が互いに異なるように着色されてもよい。この場合、正規の組の雄部材10と雌部材20を視覚的に判別し得るため、継手1の雄部材10と雌部材20の誤接続をより一層防止することができる。
 上記実施形態では、前記咬合凸部122、222および前記咬合凹部123、223は、周方向に等間隔に2つ~4つ並んで設けられているものとして説明したが、これに限られず、その他の形状、大きさ、位置、個数であってもよい。要は、各組の継手1は、咬合凸部122、222および咬合凹部123、223は、形状、大きさ、位置、個数の少なくともいずれか一つが互いに異なるように形成されることにより、正規の組の雄部材10と雌部材20については正しく接続できる一方、非正規の組の雄部材10と雌部材20については正しく接続できないものであればよい。
 以上、図面を参照して本発明の実施形態を説明したが、本発明は、図示した実施形態のものに限定されない。図示された実施形態に対して、本発明と同一の範囲内において、あるいは均等の範囲内において、種々の修正や変形を加えることが可能である。

Claims (7)

  1.  互いに接続される雄部材と雌部材からなる医療用の継手であって、
     前記雄部材は、内部に流路を有する雄部材本体と、前記雄部材本体の周囲に設けられた雄部材側周壁部とを備え、
     前記雌部材は、内部に流路を有する雌部材本体と、前記雌部材本体の周囲に設けられた雌部材側周壁部とを備え、
     前記雄部材側周壁部と前記雌部材側周壁部は、先端部に複数の咬合凸部および咬合凹部が周方向に沿って交互に形成されており、
     前記雄部材と前記雌部材が接続される際、前記雄部材本体と前記雌部材本体が嵌合するとともに、前記雄部材側周壁部と前記雌部材側周壁部の咬合凸部および咬合凹部が互いに咬合することを特徴とする継手。
  2.  前記雄部材本体は、前記雄部材側周壁部の咬合凸部よりも軸方向に突出する高さに形成されている請求項1に記載の継手。
  3.  前記雄部材側周壁部の咬合凸部は、前記雄部材本体との間に所定の空間が設けられており、前記雄部材と前記雌部材が接続される際、前記雄部材側周壁部の咬合凸部と前記雄部材本体の間の当該空間に前記雌部材の前記雌部材本体が嵌入するものとなされている請求項1に記載の継手。
  4.  前記雄部材側周壁部の咬合凸部は、内周面に係合凸部が形成される一方、
     前記雌部材本体は、外周面に係合凹部が形成され、
     前記雄部材と前記雌部材が接続される際、前記雄部材側周壁部の係合凸部と前記雌部材本体の係合凹部が互いに係合する請求項1に記載の継手。
  5.  前記雌部材側周壁部の咬合凸部は、前記雄部材と前記雌部材が接続された際に前記雌部材本体の外周面に当接する位置に設けられている請求項1に記載の継手。
  6.  請求項1または請求項5に記載の継手が複数組設けられた継手セットであって、
     各組の継手は、前記雄部材側周壁部と前記雌部材側周壁部の咬合凸部および咬合凹部の形状、大きさ、位置、個数の少なくともいずれか一つが互いに異なるように形成されていることを特徴とする継手セット。
  7.  各組の継手は、前記雄部材側周壁部と前記雌部材側周壁部に同一の色が着色され、各組の継手の間において該色が互いに異なるように着色されている請求項6に記載の継手セット。
