Abstract
Description
図1は、本開示の第1実施形態に係るタッチセンサ1の全体を示している。このタッチセンサ1は、タッチ操作が可能な静電容量方式のセンサ型入力装置である。タッチセンサ1は、例えばカーナビゲーション等の車載装置、パーソナルコンピュータのディスプレイ機器、携帯電話、携帯情報端末、携帯型ゲーム機、コピー機、券売機、現金自動預け払い機、時計などに対する入力装置として用いられる。なお、タッチセンサ1の裏側(後述する下側基板2aの下側)には、図示しない液晶表示ディスプレイ(LCD)が設けられる。
図1~図3に示すように、タッチセンサ1は、下側基板2aおよび上側基板2bを備えている。下側基板2aおよび上側基板2bの各々は、平面視で矩形状に形成されている。下側基板2aおよび上側基板2bの各々の上面には、図示しない溝部が形成されている。この溝部は、後述の細線を構成する導電材料を埋設するためのものである。
図1に示すように、タッチセンサ1は、フレキシブル配線板3を備えている。フレキシブル配線板3は、柔軟性を有しかつ変形状態でもその電気的特性が変化しないように構成されている。フレキシブル配線板3は、例えばポリイミド(PI)、ポリエチレンテレフタレート(PET)、ポリエチレンナフタレート(PEN)等の可撓性を有する絶縁フィルムからなる。フレキシブル配線板3は、異方導電性接着剤により下側基板2aおよび上側基板2bに固着された状態で、後述する複数の第1配線部15および複数の第2配線部25と電気的に接続されるように構成されている。
図1~図3に示すように、タッチセンサ1は、静電容量方式による複数の送信電極10および複数の受信電極20を備えている。
図4に示すように、各送信電極10は、複数(図示例では4つ)の第1電極部11を有している。複数の第1電極部11は、後述する第1電極端部14により互いに電気的に接続された状態になっている。各第1電極部11は、複数の細線により構成されている。
図6に示すように、各第1電極部11は、第1主線12を含む。第1主線12は、第1の方向D1に沿ってジグザグに延びている。具体的に、図7に示すように、第1主線12は、複数の傾斜線12aおよび複数の傾斜線12bにより構成されている。なお、図6および図7では、第1主線12を後述の第1副線13と区別して示すために、第1主線12を破線で囲っている。
図6に示すように、各第1電極部11は、複数の第1副線13を含む。各第1副線13は、第1主線12から分岐している。図7に示すように、2つの第1副線13が、第1主線12の各角部(傾斜線12aと傾斜線12bとの接続部分)から分岐している。具体的に、一方の第1副線13は、傾斜線12aの延伸方向と同じ方向に延びている。他方の第1副線13は、傾斜線12bの延伸方向と同じ方向に延びている。各第1副線13は、その長さが1つのマス目における対角線の長さよりも短くなるように構成されている。
図5に示すように、各受信電極20は、複数の第2電極部21を有している。複数の第2電極部21は、後述する第2電極端部24を介して互いに電気的に接続されている。各第2電極部21は、複数の細線により構成されている。各第2電極部21を構成する細線は、例えば、上側基板2bの上面に位置する溝部(図示せず)に埋設された導電材料からなる。
図6に示すように、各第2電極部21は、第2主線22を含む。第2主線22は、第2の方向D2に沿ってジグザグに延びている。具体的に、第2主線22は、複数の傾斜線22aおよび複数の傾斜線22bにより構成されている。なお、図6および図7では、第2主線22を後述の第2副線23と区別して示すために、第2主線22を破線で囲っている。
図6に示すように、各第2電極部21は、複数の第2副線23を含む。各第2副線23は、第2主線22から分岐している。図7に示すように、2つの第2副線23が、第2主線22の各角部(傾斜線22aと傾斜線22bとの接続部分)から分岐している。具体的に、一方の第2副線23は、傾斜線22aの延伸方向と同じ方向に延びている。また、他方の第1副線13は、傾斜線22bの延伸方向と同じ方向に延びている。各第2副線23は、その長さが1つのマス目における対角線の長さよりも短くなるように構成されている。
図6および図7に示すように、複数の送信電極10と複数の受信電極20とを重ね合わせた状態では、第1主線12と第2主線22とが1箇所で交差するように構成されている。この実施形態において、第1主線12と第2主線22との交点(図6の丸破線を参照)は、第1基準線R1と第2基準線R2との交点と重なっている。
図6および図7に示すように、複数の送信電極10と複数の受信電極20とを重ね合わせた状態では、複数のセル領域が形成されている。各セル領域は、第1主線12、第1副線13、第2主線22、および第2副線23の群からなるいずれか2種以上の細線で囲われている。各セル領域は、非閉塞状となるように構成されている。
図2および図4に示すように、各送信電極10の一端側には、後述する第1配線部15に接続するための第1電極端部14が設けられている。具体的に、第1電極端部14は、各第1主線12の一端側(図2の紙面左側に位置する端部)と電気的に接続されている。第1電極端部14は、例えば1本の細線からなる。第1電極端部14を構成する細線の線幅は、例えば8.0μmに設定されるのが好ましい。
図3および図5に示すように、各受信電極20の一端側には、後述する第2配線部25に接続するための第2電極端部24が設けられている。具体的に、第2電極端部24は、各第2主線22の一端側(図3の紙面上側に位置する端部)と電気的に接続されている。第2電極端部24は、例えば1本の細線からなる。第2電極端部24を構成する細線の線幅は、例えば8.0μmに設定されるのが好ましい。
図1~図3に示すように、タッチセンサ1は、複数の第1配線部15および複数の第2配線部25を備えている。複数の第1配線部15は、複数の送信電極10を上記制御回路の駆動回路と電気的に接続するための要素である。複数の第2配線部25は、複数の受信電極20を上記制御回路の検出回路と電気的に接続するための要素である。
上述のように、各第1電極部11は、第1の方向D1に沿ってジグザグに延びる第1主線12と、第1主線12から第1の方向D1および第2の方向D2と交差する方向に向かって分岐する複数の第1副線13と、を含む。各第2電極部21は、第2の方向D2に沿ってジグザグに延びる第2主線22と、第2主線22から第1の方向D1および第2の方向D2と交差する方向に向かって分岐する複数の第2副線23と、を含む。すなわち、第1主線12、第1副線13、第2主線22、および第2副線23の各々は、図示しない液晶表示ディスプレイのブラックマトリックスと重畳しないように構成されている。これにより、上記ブラックマトリックスとの干渉を避けることが可能となり、空間周波数の干渉の振幅が大きくならない。その結果、モアレの発生が抑制され、タッチセンサ1の視認性が良好となる。
以下、上記第1実施形態の変形例1~8を示す。以下の変形例1~8では、上記第1実施形態と異なる点を主に説明する。
上記第1実施形態では、正方形状を有する複数のマス目からなる仮想的な方眼を用いて第1電極部11および第2電極部21の各々の構成を説明したが、各マス目は上記正方形状に限られない。例えば、図8に示した変形例1のように、各マス目は、長辺が第1の方向D1に延びかつ短辺が第2の方向D2に延びる長方形状を有していてもよい。
図9に示すように、変形例2で用いる各マス目は、長辺が第2の方向D2に延びかつ短辺が第1の方向D1に延びる長方形状を有している。このようなマス目からなる仮想的な方眼を用いた場合には、傾斜線12aと第1基準線R1とのなす角度θ1が60°よりも大きい角度となる一方、傾斜線12bと第1基準線R1とのなす角度θ2が120°よりも小さい角度となる。また、傾斜線22aと第2基準線R2とのなす角度θ3が30°よりも大きい角度となる一方、傾斜線22bと第2基準線R2とのなす角度θ4が150°よりも小さい角度となる。
図10に示した変形例3は、上記変形例2の更なる変形例である。上記変形例2のように各セル領域を極小化しかつ高密度化することが要求されない場合には、変形例3のように第1副線13および第2副線23の数を適宜減らしてもよい。なお、変形例3で示した複数のセル領域は、上記第4のパターンを含まない。
図11に示した変形例4は、上記変形例2の更なる変形例である。変形例4が上記変形例2と異なる点は、各マス目の形状である。具体的に、変形例4の各マス目は、上記第1実施形態と同様に、正方形状を有している。すなわち、傾斜線12aと第1基準線R1とのなす角度θ1が45°となる一方、傾斜線12bと第1基準線R1とのなす角度θ2が135°となる。また、傾斜線22aと第2基準線R2とのなす角度θ3が45°となる一方、傾斜線22bと第2基準線R2とのなす角度θ4が135°となる。
図12に示した変形例5は、上記変形例4の更なる変形例である。上記変形例4のように各セル領域を極小化しかつ高密度化することが要求されない場合には、変形例5のように第1副線13および第2副線23の数を適宜減らしてもよい。なお、変形例5で示した複数のセル領域は、上記第4のパターンを含まない。
図13に示した変形例6は、上記変形例2の更なる変形例である。変形例6が上記変形例2と異なる点は、各マス目の形状である。具体的に、変形例6の各マス目は、長辺が第1の方向D1に延びかつ短辺が第2の方向D2に延びる長方形状を有している。これにより、傾斜線12aと第1基準線R1とのなす角度θ1が30°よりも小さい角度となる一方、傾斜線12bと第1基準線R1とのなす角度θ2が150°よりも大きい角度となる。また、傾斜線22aと第2基準線R2とのなす角度θ3が60°よりも大きい角度となる一方、傾斜線12bと第1基準線R1とのなす角度θ4が120°よりも小さい角度となる。
図14に示した変形例7は、上記変形例6の更なる変形例である。変形例7では、主に第2電極部21の構成が上記変形例6と異なっている。具体的に、第2主線22は、複数の傾斜線22a、複数の傾斜線22b、複数の傾斜線22c、および複数の傾斜線22dにより構成されている。
図15に示した変形例8は、上記変形例6の更なる変形例である。変形例8では、アクティブエリアA1に占める第1副線13の割合が第2副線23の割合よりも大きくなるように構成されている。具体的には、変形例8のように、第1副線13の数量を相対的に増やしてもよい。あるいは、各第2副線23を、各第1副線13よりも短くしてもよい。
図16は、本開示の第2実施形態に係るタッチセンサ1の一部を示す。第2実施形態では、第1実施形態と比較して、新たな構成が追加されている。なお、第2実施形態に係るタッチセンサ1の主な構成は、上記第1実施形態の変形例1に係るタッチセンサ1の構成と同様である。このため、以下の説明では、図1~図8と同じ部分について同じ符号を付し、その詳細な説明を省略する。
上記第2実施形態では、第1結線部31および第2結線部32を設けた形態を示したが、この形態に限られない。例えば、図17に示すように、第2結線部32のみを設けた形態であってもよい。また、第2結線部32の形状としては、上記第2実施形態で示した略V字状に限られない。例えば、この変形例のように、第2結線部32が折線状の凹凸部を有していてもよい。なお、この変形例に係るタッチセンサ1の主な構成は、上記第1実施形態の変形例2に係るタッチセンサ1の構成と同様である。
上記各実施形態では、各図の紙面左側から紙面右側に向かう方向を「第1の方向D1」とし、各図の紙面下側から紙面上側に向かう方向を「第2の方向D2」として定めた形態を示したが、この形態に限られない。すなわち、各図の紙面左側から紙面右側に向かう方向を「第2の方向D2」とし、各図の紙面下側から紙面上側に向かう方向を「第1の方向D1」として定めてもよい。

Claims (7)
- アクティブエリアを有する静電容量方式のタッチセンサであって、
前記アクティブエリアに配置され、第1の方向に沿って延びる複数の送信電極と、
前記アクティブエリアに配置され、前記第1の方向に直交する第2の方向に沿って延びる複数の受信電極と、を備え、
前記複数の送信電極の各々は、細線により構成される複数の第1電極部を有しており、
前記複数の第1電極部の各々は、
前記第1の方向に沿ってジグザグに延びる第1主線と、
前記第1主線から前記第1の方向および前記第2の方向と交差する方向に向かって分岐する複数の第1副線と、を含み、
前記複数の受信電極の各々は、細線により構成される複数の第2電極部を有しており、
前記複数の第2電極部の各々は、
前記第2の方向に沿ってジグザグに延びる第2主線と、
前記第2主線から前記第1の方向および前記第2の方向と交差する方向に向かって分岐する複数の第2副線と、を含み、
前記複数の送信電極と前記複数の受信電極とを重ね合わせた状態では、前記第1主線と前記第2主線とが1箇所で交差するとともに、前記第1主線、前記第1副線、前記第2主線、および前記第2副線の群からなるいずれか2種以上の細線で囲われたセル領域が非閉塞状になっている、タッチセンサ。 - 請求項1に記載のタッチセンサにおいて、
前記セル領域は、前記第1副線および前記第2副線の少なくともいずれか一方を含み、
前記第1副線および前記第2副線の少なくともいずれか一方の末端部は、前記群からなるいずれか1種の細線の末端部または中途部と間隙をあけた非接続状態になっている、タッチセンサ。 - 請求項2に記載のタッチセンサにおいて、
前記間隙は、5μm~80μmの範囲に設定される、タッチセンサ。 - 請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載のタッチセンサにおいて、
前記セル領域は、前記第1副線および前記第2副線により囲われたパターンを含む、タッチセンサ。 - 請求項1~4のいずれか1項に記載のタッチセンサにおいて、
前記アクティブエリアに占める前記複数の送信電極の割合は、前記アクティブエリアに占める前記複数の受信電極の割合よりも大きい、タッチセンサ。 - 請求項1~5のいずれか1項に記載のタッチセンサにおいて、
互いに隣り合う前記第1電極部には、各々の前記第1電極部と電気的に接続される第1結線部が設けられている、タッチセンサ。 - 請求項1~6のいずれか1項に記載のタッチセンサにおいて、
互いに隣り合う前記第2電極部には、各々の前記第2電極部と電気的に接続される第2結線部が設けられている、タッチセンサ。
