Abstract

The invention relates to a cleaning apparatus (10) for a printing machine, specifically for removing a water-based printing ink from a surface (12) to be cleaned of a printing machine cylinder (11) or a printing machine roller with the aid of a water-based detergent, comprising: an application device (14) for applying the water-based detergent directly onto the surface (12) to be cleaned of the printing machine cylinder (11) or the printing machine roller; at least two rotatably mounted softening-brush rollers (15, 16), the bristles (17) of which can be adjusted for softening and removing the water-based printing ink on the surface (12) to be cleaned with the aid of the water-based detergent; a rotatably mounted stripping-brush roller (21), the bristles (17) of which can be adjusted for picking up the softened and removed printing ink and the detergent on the surface (12) to be cleaned; at least one removal device (23) for removing the printing ink picked up from the surface (12) to be cleaned and the water-based detergent, which removal device interacts with the stripping-brush roller (21) such that detergent picked up by the stripping-brush roller (21) from the surface (12) to be cleaned can be stripped from the stripping-brush roller (21) into the removal device (23) together with printing ink that has also been picked up.
