Definitions
- This disclosure relates to an optical device.
- Patent Document 1 discloses a technique related to an optical filter.
- This optical filter is composed of a dielectric multilayer film in which low refractive index layers and high refractive index layers are alternately laminated, and an object thereof is to transmit incident light when the incident angle is within a predetermined angle.
- An angle filter capable of selectively extracting a desired angle component from light propagating in space and removing other angle components is desired.
- unnecessary light may be emitted in an angle direction different from the emission angle corresponding to the incident angle of light due to the diffraction action generated in each pixel. If such unnecessary light can be removed by using an angle filter, the quality of the light emitted from the spatial light modulator will be improved.
- An object of the embodiment is to provide an optical device provided with an angle filter capable of selectively extracting a desired angle component from light propagating in space and removing other angle components.
- the embodiment is an optical device.
- the optical device includes an optical system that outputs parallel light and an angle filter arranged on the optical path of the parallel light output from the optical system, and the angle filter includes a dielectric layer having a first refractive index.
- the angle filter includes a dielectric layer having a first refractive index.
- the transmittance and reflectance of the dielectric multilayer film change according to the incident angle of light, and its characteristics can be controlled by the layer structure of the dielectric multilayer film (thickness of each layer, number of layers, and material). Is. Therefore, according to the above configuration, a desired angle component can be selectively extracted from the light propagating in space, and other angle components can be removed.
- an optical device provided with an angle filter capable of selectively extracting a desired angle component from light propagating in space and removing other angle components.

Description
本実施形態の空間光変調器4は液晶型であり、例えば、LCOS-SLM(Liquid Crystal On Silicon Spatial Light Modulator)或いはLCD(Liquid Crystal Display)である。
