- the fan may be located at any point along the airflow pathway.
- the fan may be arranged such that the air inlet is in communication with the centre of the fan and the air outlet is in communication with the outer region of the fan. Since the outer region of the fan blades move faster than the central region of the fan, this arrangement may advantageously allow air to be drawn in through the air inlet and forced out into the at least one chamber.
- the heater may be an external heater configured to heat an aerosol-forming substrate of an aerosol generating article.
- the aerosol generating device may be configured to produce an aerosol from a liquid aerosol-forming substrate.

- the aerosol-forming substrate may further comprise one or more aerosol formers. Examples of suitable aerosol formers include, but are not limited to, water, glycerine and propylene glycol.
