Definitions
- the invention relates to an assembly for a vehicle comprising a cross member, provided for connection to two mutually opposite columns with respect to the xz plane of the vehicle, a bracket connected to the cross member and protruding in the radial direction from this Hal sion with end connection means and a to the A panel-shaped instrument connected at a distance from its upper end, in particular a display which is held in such a way that its user interface points in the x direction into the passenger compartment of the vehicle.
- Increasingly larger display and operating units - displays - are installed in motor vehicles. These are tabular instruments. In many cases, these are located as a central display approximately in the middle of the dashboard. These displays are directed with their display or user interface in the passenger compartment of the vehicle so that the driver and front passenger can read the information on them. In most cases, such displays are also provided as input units. Then these are touch-sensitive. Due to the size of the displays, the limited space available in many cases and for reasons of comfort and ergonomics, such displays cannot always be built into the dashboard, but protrude over the top of the dashboard. Embodiments are also known in which such displays can be retracted in the position of use beyond the dashboard.
- Panel-shaped instruments of this type should be held in such a way that they do not increase the risk of injury to the vehicle occupants in the event of an accident, especially if they protrude completely or partially above the upper end of the dashboard.
- EP 3045340 B1 such a display on a to arrange to the rear with respect to the display extending support element.
- the support element is angled.
- the display is connected to the leg extending in the vertical direction (yz direction).
- the two legs are connected by a metallic connecting plate which is formed from a metallic leaf spring material.
- the support element is designed so that in the event of a load that exceeds a certain force and acts on the upper area of the display, the support element breaks and the display folds over in the direction of travel.
- panel-shaped instruments which protrude at least with a section from the Oberflä surface of the dashboard, it must also be ensured that the bracket can withstand a load without damage, which acts on it, for example, when a person to help lift the display seizes its top, therefore used as a handle and pulls itself up on it.
- Such cases of stress also known as misuse, must not lead to damage or destruction of the bracket.
- JP 2008-290508 A Another holder for a display in a motor vehicle is known from JP 2008-290508 A.
- This bracket comprises two individual, with stand from each other arranged holder, which are connected at one end to the Ar maturentafelquer nonetheless.
- the brackets protrude upward from the dashboard cross member in the z-direction. This is seen as necessary in order to be able to provide sufficient energy absorption in the available installation space.
- a leg extending in the z-direction one end of which is connected to the cross member, such a holder comprises a V-shaped holder part formed thereon at an angle, whereby this section of the holder in a side view is designed N-shaped.
- JP 2013 - 82362 A also reveals a multi-part holder device which consists of three holders arranged next to one another on the display and three holders that can be coupled to them and arranged on the instrument panel cross member.
- such a holder According to the legal requirement for the holder of such a tabletop-shaped instrument, such as a display, such a holder must be made soft enough not to exceed the maximum permissible acceleration acting on the head of an occupant. On the other hand, such a holder must meet the misuse requirements without the holder being plastically deformed or destroyed.
- the misuse forces are assumed to be around 300 N, with forces in the x-direction (both directions) and in the z-direction (directed below) being relevant.
- the invention is based on the object of developing an assembly for a vehicle of the type mentioned in such a way that it not only meets the requirements for occupant safety, but is also suitable for panel-shaped instruments such as displays to wear the are arranged at least with a section above the top of the dashboard, and thus also meets the misuse requirements, but which can also be used in cramped installation conditions.
- the holder is designed as a supporting structure holder formed from a hollow chamber profile with an upper belt and a lower belt, which two belts are connected to one another by a framework and are arranged inclined to one another, so that they are at a greater distance from one another on the instrument connection side than at their end facing the crossbeam, and in which at least one of the two straps between its two connection points has at least one predetermined kink provided by its geometry, at the direction of the crossbeam in the event of a load with a stress direction towards this belt buckles in the z-direction.
- the directional or plane orientation (x, y, z) used in this embodiment is the one that is typically used in vehicles. Accordingly, the x-direction corresponds to the longitudinal extent of the vehicle, the y-direction to the transverse direction and the z-direction to the vertical direction.
- the planes referred to in connection with the spatial position of the legs of the two belts - the y-z plane and the x-z plane - are not to be understood strictly geometrically. Rather, the spatial position can deviate from the strictly geometrical plane as long as the projection of the actual spatial position (ACTUAL spatial position) into the strictly geometrical plane shows the larger part of the actual spatial position. The deviation is preferably no more than ⁇ 40 °. The same applies to the directions.
- This bracket is designed as a hollow chamber profile and designed in the manner of a structure and thus as a structure holder.
- This structure holder has an upper belt and a lower belt which is spaced apart from the upper belt.
- the two straps are on both of them in the y-direction facing sides connected by a framework.
- the struts are typically tapered vertically towards the upper chord.
- the two straps themselves are arranged inclined to one another, with these having a greater distance from one another on their instrument connection side than on their end facing the cross member.
- At least one of the two belts has at least one predetermined kink between its two connection points - the connection on the instrument side and the cross member connection.
- the predetermined kink point is provided by the design of the geometry of the belt.
- the intended kink point is designed so that when this belt is loaded, it kinks in the z-direction and is therefore deformed about a kink axis running in the y-direction.
- this belt which has the intended kink point, kinks in the direction transverse to the acceleration causing the kinking on the upper edge area of the display as a panel-shaped instrument.
- a panel-shaped instrument typically a display
- a single fastening means for example a screw bolt on the holder. This not only simplifies the assembly process, but also allows the panel-shaped instrument to be connected to the bracket so that it can pivot about the screw bolt axis.
- this bracket only needs to be connected to the instrument panel cross member. This is also the case in a preferred exemplary embodiment. This holder is therefore suitable for forming an assembly of the type mentioned, in which only relatively little installation space is available.
- the instrument panel cross member serves as an abutment.
- the bracket protrudes from the Cross member in x-direction.
- the upper chord and the lower chord are thus in the xy plane, while the two side trusses are in the yz plane.
- the upper strap and the lower strap include beveled legs that are located in the y-z plane. These two legs are oriented towards one another.
- the upper end of the panel-shaped instrument is located in the z-direction at a distance from the upper strap of the holder. If the display is in terms of its height largely protruding from the top of the dashboard, you will connect the bracket to the lower area of the display.
- An acceleration acting on the display typically introduced in the event of an accident by the impact of the head of a vehicle occupant, results in a bending load due to the belts in the upper belt converging in the direction of the cross member, so that it is at the intended kink point when the appropriate force is applied buckles. Therefore, in a preferred exemplary embodiment, it is provided that at least the upper strap of each holder has such a predetermined kink.
- the connection of the same to the lower belt acts like a hinge with a tensile stress coupled into the lower belt.
- the predetermined kink is provided by the geometry of the belt in the area of the predetermined kink. If the upper strap is to buckle in the z-direction, i.e. about a bend axis running in the y-direction, this can be adjusted via the height of the strap in the z-direction and thus via the design of its leg located in the yz-plane. The direction of buckling will also be specified by the geometry.
- the upper belt should buckle in the z-direction upwards.
- the upper belt has a concave shape in the area of the predetermined kink.
- the concave shape is preferably achieved in that the strap section that connects the intended kink to the cross member is less inclined than the other belt section that adjoins the intended kink in the direction of the connection of the panel-shaped instrument .
- the strap section on the instrument connection side is in a spatial position in which this already has a buckling specification for buckling in relation to the other belt section in the z-direction.
- the predetermined kink point of the upper strap is preferably closer to the connection to the cross member in relation to the extension of the holder in the x direction than to the connection to the panel-shaped instrument, so that the strap section on the instrument connection side is the longer and thus a corresponding lever is provided for activating the intended kink.
- the upper belt is also weakened in the area of the intended kink in the x-direction in relation to the sections adjoining it. This can be provided, for example, by a reduced height of the side legs formed thereon.
- one embodiment provides for a recess extending in the x direction to be provided in the upper belt, which recess has its greatest clear width in the area of the intended kink.
- both straps have a predetermined kink point, as described above for the upper strap, so that the bracket is also resilient in the event of an accident when an acceleration or thrust force acts on the panel-shaped instrument, which is coupled into both straps.
- the predetermined kinks in the upper strap and in the lower strap are spaced apart in the x-direction, where the predetermined kink of the upper strap is positioned closer to the connection of the bracket to the cross member than that of the lower strap. This in turn serves as a specification to support an upward buckling movement of the bracket in the z-direction, which in turn wastes the upper end of the display in the direction of travel of the vehicle.
- the formation of the straps with their side legs and the formation of the framework for connecting the two straps allows an individual adaptation to different requirements, since in a simple manner, for example, through the respective leg height, the design and arrangement of the framework struts the rigidity or the Buckling behavior of the holder can be influenced in a simple manner.
- Other measures to influence the buckling behavior such as a different material thickness, the formation of a different metal structure and the like, are also possible

- An assembly 1 for a vehicle comprises an instrument panel transverse support 2, which is shown in Figure 1 only in part.
- the cross member is designed as a tube in the figure. This can also have other cross-sectional geometries, including, for example, two Shells to create the desired hollow chamber profile for such a cross member be composed.
- the assembly 1 includes a holder 3.
- the holder 3 is connected to the cross member 2 by a welded connection.
- a display 4 is connected to the bracket 3 as a tafelförmi ges element.
- the lower half of the holder 3 is connected to the rear of the display 4 at a small distance from its lower end. The distance of the bracket
- bracket 3 in the z-direction in front of the upper termination 5 of the display 4 is significantly greater than the distance between the bracket and the lower termination 6 of the display 4.
- the bracket 3 is in relation to the y-extension of the display
- the holder 3 is designed as a hollow chamber profile in the manner of a supporting structure holder.
- the holder 3 has an upper belt 7 and a lower belt 8 spaced apart from the upper belt 7 (see also FIG. 2).
- the bracket 3 and thus also the two straps 7, 8 protrude from the Querträ ger 2 in the x direction in the direction of the passenger compartment.
- the Hohlkam merprofil the bracket 3 of the illustrated embodiment is composed of two, each made of a steel plate as a stamped and bent part half-shells.
- the joining plane of the two half-shells is in the y-z plane. It is also possible to arrange the joining plane of the two half-shells in the x-y direction.
- the two belts 7, 8 carry on their sides in the y-direction white each one in the direction of the other belt 8 and 7 from protruding legs 9, 9.1; 10, 10.1.
- the legs 9, 9.1; 10, 10.1 are connected to the remaining part of the respective belt 7, 8 with the formation of a radius.
- the height of the legs 9, 9.1 located in the y-z plane (see also FIG. 4) in the z direction is greater than the height of the legs 10, 10.1 located in the same plane of the lower belt 8.
- the two belts 7, 8 are connected to one another at their ends pointing in the y-direction by a framework 11, 11.1.
- the trusses 11, 11.1 are mirror-symmetrical with respect to the yz center plane of the holder 3 and each include three struts 12, 12.1, 12.2.
- the strut 12 connects the legs 9, 10 or 9.1, 10.1 with one another at that end of the holder 3 to which the display 4 is connected.
- the struts 12.1, 12.2 are, as can be seen from FIG. 2, inclined in opposite directions to one another, specifically inclined in the direction of the upper belt 7 pointing towards one another.
- a recess 14, 15 is also made in the two-dimensional extension of the two belts 7, 8. Due to the design of the sides connecting the straps 7, 8 as trusses 11, 11.1, the holder 3 is a bracket designed in the manner of a truss - a supporting frame holder.
- the upper belt 7 has an approximately horizontal course in its section 3 bordering the cross member connection 16 of the holding device. This horizontal course is limited by a concave section 17, the apex of which forms a predetermined kink Si.
- the belt section bordering the section 17 on its side facing away from the cross member 2 is inclined ge compared to the other belt section. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the two strap sections enclose an angle of approximately 145 °.
- the belt section of the upper belt 7 on the instrument connection side has a convex section 19 in front of its end section 18 with connection means for connecting the display 4.
- the offset of the cross member remote belt section ge compared to the belt section connected to the cross member 2 is offset in the z direction.
- This geometric design of the upper belt 7 provides a specification for activating the intended kink point Si in the event of a shear load (load in the x direction) acting on the upper belt 7. If the upper belt 7 is subjected to a thrust load that exceeds a certain force or acceleration, it buckles in the z-direction, as indicated by the arrow in FIG. 2.
- the intended kink point Si is thus defined on the one hand by the above-described geometry of the upper belt 7 with its concave section 17.
- the predetermined kink is also defined by the geometry of the Upper belt 7 introduced recess 14. In the area of the intended kink point 17, this has its greatest clear width in the direction of the kink axis (y-direction).
- the recess 14 is tapered, as can be seen in the plan view of FIG. Due to this measure and due to the arrangement of the strut 12.2 to be assigned to the area of the cross member connection 16 in the two trusses 11, 11.1, the fold 3 in its first section adjoining the cross member 2 is more rigid in the z direction than in the adjacent section, in which the predetermined kink Si is located.
- the lower strap 8 is constructed in the same way as the upper strap 7.
- the lower strap 8 also has a predetermined kink point S2. Since this should act in the same direction as that of the upper belt 7, the desired kink S2 is convex on the belt underside and concave on the belt top. In a projection of the fold 3 in the xy plane (see top view of FIG Recess 14 (recognizable by the dashed lines as a continuation of the recess 15 in Figure 3).
- the lower belt 8 is also divided into two belt sections inclined towards one another by the convex section 20 forming the predetermined kink point S2. In the embodiment shown, these enclose an angle of approximately 153 °. In this way, the belt section closer to the instrument connection side acts on the lower belt 8 when the corresponding force is applied, likewise with a bending direction specification on the intended kink point S2.
- the two straps 7, 8 are at a greater distance from one another in the area of the end section 18 of the fold 3 than in the area of the cross member connection 16. The forces acting on the end section 18 of the fold 3 are concentrated via the cross member connection 16 in the cross member 2 initiated.
- the folding 3 has in its end section 18 in each belt 7, 8 an opening 22, 22.1 to the display 4 with his Connection piece 21 to be able to connect to the bracket 3 by means of a single fastening screw.
- a press-in nut 23 is arranged on the underside of the lower strap 8. The screw shaft reaches through the opening 22 of the upper belt 7, the connecting piece 21 of the display 4 and engages with a threaded section in the press-in nut 23.
- the buckling of the holder 3 at its intended kink points Si, S2 is influenced by the height of the belt legs 9, 9.1, 10, 10.1 in the area of the intended kink point.
- the buckling behavior is also influenced by the clear width of the recesses 14, 15 in the upper belt 7 and the lower belt 8, in each case in the y-direction.
- the buckling behavior can be influenced by the formation of the section serving as an abutment section, which is more rigid than the cross beam. This list of different ways of influencing is not exhaustive.
- Figures 5 and 6 show a further embodiment of a holder 3.1 as part of an assembly according to the invention, otherwise not shown in detail in the figures.
- the holder 3.1 is basically constructed like the holder described in FIGS. 1 to 4. Therefore, the relevant statements apply equally to the bracket 3.1 or the assembly in which the bracket 3.1 is installed.
- the holder 3.1 differs from the holder 3 by the outline geometry of the recess 14.1 or 15.1 made in the upper belt 7.1 or lower belt 8.1.
- a bead 24, 24.1 protruding outward in the y direction is formed on both sides in the upper belt 7.1 and the adjacent strut 12.3.
- the beads 24, 24.1 extend in the Darge presented embodiment over a little more than half the height of the Be tenfachwerkes. The resistance of the holder is through the beads 24, 24.1
- the beads 24, 24.1 act in a hinge-like manner in such a case, as a result of which the acceleration acting on the head of an occupant is reduced in the event of a head impact.
- FIG. 7 shows a further fold 3.2.
- This folding 3.2 is a further development of the folding 3.1.
- the folding 3.2 has an edge cutout 25 each.
- the edge cutout 25 is the curved transition from the upper belt 7.2 in its legs 9.2 and the lower strap 8.2 in the transition to its legs 10.2 notched.
- the length of these edge recesses 25 in the x direction is shorter than the relevant width of the end struts 12.4 connecting the two straps 7.2, 8.2.
- the edge recesses 25 improve the acceleration required for buckling the fold 3 for energy absorption by the fold 3.2.
- edge recesses 25 described for this purpose are described as a further development of the exemplary embodiment of the fold 3.1, these can also be provided for the same purpose with differently designed filters of the type in question, for example also with a fold 3 as described for FIGS. 1 to 4.
- the flap is formed from two flat shells made of sheet steel. It goes without saying that other metallic materials, such as suitable aluminum alloys or non-metallic materials, can also be used to form the fold. List of reference symbols
