Definitions

  • the present invention relates to an image generator or the like that generates an image referred to in the work of drafting a commercial message.
  • CM Commercial Message
  • the value of commercials broadcast in a certain program frame is evaluated based on the audience rating of past programs broadcast in that program frame.
  • the audience rating can be calculated by dividing the number of viewers (number of households) of a certain program aggregated in a certain district by the number of households having television (hereinafter referred to as television) in that district.
  • the audience rating is calculated using data measured by an audience rating measuring instrument installed on a television of a household that has a contract with a company that provides the audience rating data (also called an audience rating provider).
  • the audience rating calculated by such a method is counted as if the program being broadcast on the television is being viewed even when the viewer is away from the front of the television. Therefore, the audience rating alone was not sufficient as an index for estimating the value of commercials.
  • Patent Document 1 discloses an advertising space transaction support device that supports transaction of advertising space.
  • Patent Document 1 cites, as an example, a numerical value (viewing quality) indicating the degree of concentration of a viewer who is watching television. For example, viewer quality is calculated based on features extracted from a viewer who is in front of the television by a sensor installed in the television.
  • the viewing quality is a numerical value indicating that the viewer who watches the TV broadcast program is paying close attention to the program. If the audience rating is used in addition to the audience rating, the value of the CM can be evaluated more accurately. In addition, various companies are working on their own measurement of viewing quality, and it is possible to obtain viewing quality data for each program. However, since the format of the audience rating data has not been determined, it has not been easy to link the audience rating data and the audience quality data for the programs broadcast on television. Therefore, it was difficult to combine the audience rating and the audience quality as an index for evaluating the value of the commercial.

Description

Image generator, image generation method, and program recording medium
The present invention relates to an image generator or the like that generates an image referred to in the work of drafting a commercial message.
There are time contracts, spot contracts, non-broadcast contracts, etc. in the transaction contracts for advertisements broadcast on television broadcasting (hereinafter referred to as television broadcasting). Of these contracts, spot contracts are affected by the audience rating and time rank of the program frame on which commercial messages (hereinafter referred to as CM: Commercial Message) are sent, and there are various combinations, which are determined by specifying individual conditions. NS. For example, the time zone during which a commercial is played based on a spot contract is determined in a work called drafting. For example, a broadcasting station (ordering side) that provides a frame for commercials makes a proposal by comparing the conditions (also called contract conditions) presented by the advertiser or advertising agency (ordering side) with the program table of the broadcasting station. Propose the proposed proposal to advertisers and advertising agencies.
For example, in television broadcasting, the value of commercials broadcast in a certain program frame is evaluated based on the audience rating of past programs broadcast in that program frame. The audience rating can be calculated by dividing the number of viewers (number of households) of a certain program aggregated in a certain district by the number of households having television (hereinafter referred to as television) in that district. Generally, the audience rating is calculated using data measured by an audience rating measuring instrument installed on a television of a household that has a contract with a company that provides the audience rating data (also called an audience rating provider). The audience rating calculated by such a method is counted as if the program being broadcast on the television is being viewed even when the viewer is away from the front of the television. Therefore, the audience rating alone was not sufficient as an index for estimating the value of commercials.
Patent Document 1 discloses an advertising space transaction support device that supports transaction of advertising space. Patent Document 1 cites, as an example, a numerical value (viewing quality) indicating the degree of concentration of a viewer who is watching television. Japanese Patent No. 6514820
The viewing quality is a numerical value indicating that the viewer who watches the TV broadcast program is paying close attention to the program.

(composition)
FIG. 1 is a block diagram showing an example of the configuration of the image generation device 10 according to the present embodiment. The image generation device 10 includes an acquisition unit 11, a display information generation unit 12, and an output unit 13. The output unit 13 is connected to a display device 100 having a screen. The image generation device 10 acquires viewing data including a viewing index of a past time zone (also referred to as a reference time zone) corresponding to a time zone of a program frame of a program distributed on television or the Internet. The image generation device 10 uses the acquired viewing data to generate display data (program frame image) that is referred to when drafting a commercial.
The acquisition unit 11 acquires the first viewing data and the second viewing data including the viewing index of the television broadcast. For example, the acquisition unit 11 acquires the first viewing data and the second viewing data relating to the programs delivered to at least one program frame in the preset period at the preset timing. For example, the acquisition unit 11 may acquire at least one of the first viewing data and the second viewing data in real time. For example, the acquisition unit 11 may acquire the first viewing data and the second viewing data at different timings, or may acquire them at the same timing.
The first viewing data includes a numerical value indicating the degree of viewing of a program broadcast on television (hereinafter, also referred to as a television program). The second viewing data includes a measure of the viewing quality of television programs. For example, the first viewing data and the second viewing data include an identifier for identifying each program (also referred to as a program identifier), a time zone of the program, an attribute of the viewer, and the like. The time zone of the program is set according to a preset time schedule (also called block copy data). The block copy data is the template data of the program guide for one week. Except for unusual times such as the reorganization period and the year-end and New Year holidays, where there are many special programs, the broadcast schedule for one week's program is almost the same every week. The block copy data is prepared in several patterns according to the program schedule during normal and non-normal times. When drafting a commercial, the block copy data corresponding to the contract period of the commercial is used.
(C:Child、T:Teen-age)。 Viewer attributes include the viewer's gender and age group. When the viewer is male, the age group of 20 to 34 years is divided into the M1 group, the age group of 35 to 49 years is divided into the M2 group, and the age group of 50 years or older is divided into the M3 group (M). : Male). When the viewer is female, the age group of 20 to 34 years is divided into the F1 group, the age group of 35 to 49 years is divided into the F2 group, and the age group of 50 years or older is divided into the F3 group (F). : Female). When the viewer is a minor, regardless of gender, the age group of 4 to 12 years is divided into the C group, and the age group of 13 to 19 years is divided into the T group (C: Child, T: Teen-). age).
For example, the first viewing index is the audience rating of a TV program. For example, audience rating is an estimate of what percentage of households owning television in the area where the television program was broadcast watched the television program. For example, the first viewing data is the average audience rating in the time zone of the television program. For example, the first viewing index may be the audience rating per unit time in the time zone of the television program. For example, the first viewing index is an audience rating (also referred to as a real-time audience rating) indicating the degree of viewing in real time during the television broadcasting time zone. For example, the first viewing index may be an audience rating (also referred to as a time-shifted audience rating) indicating the degree of viewing at a time different from the television broadcasting time zone.
For example, the audience rating is measured by an audience rating measuring instrument installed on the television of a household that has a contract with a company that provides the audience rating data (also called an audience rating provider). The audience rating provider collects the audience rating measured by the audience rating measuring device, and at a preset timing such as once a week, the audience rating is sent to broadcasting stations, advertisers, advertising agencies, etc. that handle the audience rating. Provide data.
FIG. 2 is a table (audience rating table 111) showing an example of audience rating data. The audience rating table 111 shows the district of the household where the audience rating measuring device is installed, the day and time when the audience rating was investigated, the start time of the program broadcast, the name of the program, the average audience rating of the program (program average rate), and the like. Includes the audience rating at the end of the program (rate at the end of the program), etc. The program average rate and the program end rate include the audience rating for each attribute of the viewer. The audience rating table 111 of FIG. 2 is an example of the audience rating data, and does not limit the first audience rating data acquired by the image generation device 10 of the present embodiment.
The first viewing index does not have to be the audience rating as long as the degree of viewing of the TV program can be estimated. For example, the first viewing index may be an estimated value indicating how many households own the television in the area where the television program was broadcast. For example, by multiplying the audience rating of a district where a television program is broadcast by the number of households that own the television in that district, an estimate of the number of viewers of that television program in that district can be calculated.
For example, the second viewing index is a measure of the quality of viewing TV programs (viewing quality). For example, the viewing quality is a quantification of the viewing quality, such as whether or not there is a viewer in front of the TV broadcasting the TV program, and whether or not the viewer in front of the TV is watching the TV screen. Is. For example, a sensor such as a camera installed on a television can be used to determine whether or not there is a person in front of the television. The viewer quality, which indicates the percentage of viewers staying in front of the television during the television broadcast, is also called the degree of stay. When there is a person in front of the TV, it can be determined whether or not the person is watching the TV screen based on the characteristics such as the direction of the face, the direction of the line of sight, and the posture extracted from the person. The viewing quality that indicates that the person in front of the television was gazing at the screen of the television is also called gaze.
For example, viewing quality is measured by a viewing quality measuring instrument installed on the television of a household that has a contract with a company that provides viewing quality data (also called a viewing quality provider). For example, the viewing quality measuring instrument has a sensor such as a camera and is arranged at a position where a viewer viewing a television screen can be detected. The audiovisual quality measuring instrument uses the position facing the TV screen as the detection range to determine that there is a person in front of the TV, and to determine the direction of the face of the person in front of the TV, the direction of the line of sight, the posture, etc. Detect. The viewing quality provider collects the viewing quality measured by the viewing quality measuring instrument, and sends the viewing quality to broadcasting stations, advertisers, advertising agencies, etc. that handle the viewing quality at a preset timing such as once a week. Provide data.
FIG. 3 is a table (viewing quality table 112) showing an example of viewing quality data. The viewing quality table 112 includes the district of the household in which the viewing quality measuring device is installed, the measurement time of the viewing quality data, and the viewing quality for each broadcasting station. The viewing quality for each broadcasting station included in the viewing quality table 112 includes the viewing quality for each household and the viewing quality for each attribute of the viewer such as an individual male or an individual female. The viewing quality table 112 of FIG. 3 is an example of viewing quality data, and does not limit the second viewing data acquired by the image generation device 10 of the present embodiment.
The second viewing index does not have to be the viewing quality as long as it can measure the viewing quality of the TV program. For example, the second viewing index is an estimate of how many TV-owned households in the area where a TV program was broadcast had viewers in front of the TV during the broadcast of the TV program, or what. It may be an estimate indicating whether the television program was watched in the household. For example, multiplying the viewing quality of an area where a TV program was broadcast by the number of households owning the television in that area estimates the number of viewers in front of the television during the broadcast of the television program in that area. You can calculate values and estimates of the number of viewers watching the TV show.
The display information generation unit 12 acquires the first viewing index included in the first viewing data and the second viewing index included in the second viewing data. The display information generation unit 12 is a program delivered in a past time zone (also referred to as a reference time zone) corresponding to a time zone (also referred to as a draft target time zone) of a draft target program frame (also referred to as a draft target program frame). (1st viewing index and 2nd viewing index) are acquired. The display information generation unit 12 displays display data (also referred to as a program frame image) including a viewing index (also referred to as program frame data) for each program frame for each of the program distribution time zones (also referred to as program frames) for one week. To generate. The display information generation unit 12 generates a program frame image including a viewing index of a program distributed in a reference time zone corresponding to a drafting target time zone. For example, if a program similar to the program delivered in the draft target program frame is delivered in the same time zone one week before the draft target time zone, the same time zone one week before the draft target time zone is the reference time. It may be set to the band. For example, if a program of a genre different from the program delivered in the draft target program frame such as a special number is delivered in the same time zone one week before the draft target time zone, the number of weeks in the draft target time zone The same time zone before or may be set as the reference time zone.
The output unit 13 displays the program frame image generated by the display information generation unit 12 on the screen of the display device 100. For example, a worker who drafts a commercial at a broadcasting station or the like advances the drafting of a commercial while referring to a program frame image displayed on the screen of the display device 100. For example, on the screen of the display device 100, only the first viewing index may be displayed, only the second viewing index may be displayed, or the second viewing index may be displayed according to the operation of the operator input via the terminal (not shown). The 1 viewing index and the 2nd viewing index may be displayed side by side.
FIG. 4 is an example of a program frame image (program frame image 130) generated by the display information generation unit 12. The program frame image 130 of FIG. 2 includes a first viewing index related to the degree of viewing of a television broadcast and a second viewing index relating to a measure of the viewing quality of a television program. The format for displaying the first viewing index and the second viewing index does not have to be the format in which the slash "/" is inserted. For example, in the same program frame, the first viewing index and the second viewing index may be arranged vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. For example, in the same program frame, the first viewing index and the second viewing index may be arranged with a symbol other than a slash in between.
FIG. 5 is an example of displaying an example (program frame image 131) of the program frame image generated by the image generation device 10 on the screen of the display device 100 connected to the image generation device 10. The program frame image 131 displayed on the screen of the display device 100 includes a first viewing index (audience rating: 10.0%) and a second viewing index (viewing quality: 7.2%). For example, a worker who drafts a commercial at a broadcasting station or the like refers to the audience rating and viewing quality included in the program frame image 131 displayed on the screen of the display device 100, and sets the CM in the program frame of the program frame image 131. Consider whether to insert. For example, when the audience rating and viewing quality included in the program frame image 131 satisfy the contract conditions (also referred to as inquiry data) concluded between the ordering side and the ordering side of the CM, the worker can use the program frame. Plan to insert a CM.

FIG. 6 is a flowchart for explaining an example of the operation of the image generation device 10. In the process according to the flowchart of FIG. 6, the image generation device 10 will be described as the main body of operation.
In FIG. 6, first, the image generation device 10 acquires viewing data in the reference time zone corresponding to the drafting target time zone (step S11).
Next, the image generation device 10 generates a program frame image in which the first viewing index and the second viewing index are displayed (step S12).
Next, the image generation device 10 outputs the generated program frame image (step S13). The program frame image output from the image generation device 10 is displayed on the screen of the display device 100.
As described above, the image generation device of the present embodiment includes an acquisition unit, a display information generation unit, and an output unit. The acquisition department has a first viewing index that indicates the degree of viewing of a program broadcast in the reference time zone corresponding to the commercial message drafting target time zone, and the viewing quality of the program broadcast in the reference time zone. A second viewing index and a second viewing index indicating the scale of the above are acquired. The display information generation unit generates a program frame image including the first viewing index included in the first viewing data and the second viewing index included in the second viewing data. The output unit displays the program frame image generated by the display information generation unit on the screen of the display device.
The first viewing index indicates the degree to which the program was viewed on television. For example, the first viewing index is an audience rating that indicates the rate at which a program is viewed on television. The second viewing index indicates a measure of the viewing quality of the program delivered in the reference time zone. For example, the second viewing index is the degree of stay, which indicates the percentage of viewers staying in front of the television on which the program is being broadcast, and the percentage of those viewers who are watching the program. The viewing quality corresponds to at least one of the indicated gaze levels.
The image generation device of the present embodiment generates a program frame image including the first viewing index and the second viewing index. Therefore, according to the image generation device of the present embodiment, it is possible to generate a program frame image that serves as an evaluation standard for the value of a commercial message inserted in a program frame of television broadcasting.
For example, the image generator of the present embodiment is used in a broadcasting station that drafts a commercial in response to an order from an advertiser or an advertising agency. Further, the image generation device of the present embodiment may be used by an advertiser or an advertising agency. The subject using the image generator of the present embodiment is not particularly limited.
(Second Embodiment)
Next, the image generator according to the second embodiment will be described with reference to the drawings. The image generation device of the present embodiment generates display data including viewing indexes of a plurality of programs. In particular, the image generator of the present embodiment generates a timetable including viewing indexes of a plurality of programs for one week.
(composition)
FIG. 7 is a block diagram showing an example of the configuration of the image generation device 20 according to the present embodiment. The image generation device 20 includes an acquisition unit 21, a display information generation unit 22, and an output unit 23. The output unit 23 is connected to a display device 200 having a screen. The image generation device 20 acquires viewing data including a viewing index of a reference time zone corresponding to a time zone of a program frame of a plurality of programs broadcast on television. The image generation device 20 uses the acquired viewing data to generate display data (timetable image) that is referred to when drafting a commercial.
The acquisition unit 21 acquires the first viewing data and the second viewing data. Since the acquisition unit 21 has the same configuration as the acquisition unit 11 of the first embodiment, detailed description thereof will be omitted.
The display information generation unit 22 acquires the first viewing index included in the first viewing data and the second viewing index included in the second viewing data. The display information generation unit 22 acquires the viewing index (first viewing index and second viewing index) of the program for a predetermined period delivered in the reference time zone corresponding to the drafting target time zone. For example, the display information generation unit 22 acquires the first viewing index and the second viewing index of the program for one week. For example, the predetermined period is set to one week from Monday to Sunday. For example, if the week from Monday to Sunday includes a program during an unusual time, or if the ordering party specifies the date and time, the predetermined period does not have to be set to one week. In the present embodiment, the predetermined period is set to one week. The predetermined period may be set to less than one week or one week or more.
The display information generation unit 22 uses the viewing index (at least one of the first viewing index and the second viewing index) of the program for a predetermined period delivered in the reference time zone to display a plurality of programs for one week. Generate a timetable image including program frame data. The display information generation unit 22 generates a timetable image in which each of the program frame data of a plurality of programs is arranged in association with a preset program table template (also referred to as block copy data) for one week. ..
FIG. 8 is an example of a program schedule template (block copy data 250) for one week. The block copy data 250 is an example including four time zones (time zone A, time zone B, time zone C, and time zone D). The block copy data 250 may include a time zone other than the time zones A to D. Further, the time zones A to D included in the block copy data 250 may be set to different times from each other. Further, the time zones A to D included in the block copy data 250 may be different times depending on the day.
The output unit 23 displays the timetable image generated by the display information generation unit 22 on the screen of the display device 200. For example, a worker who drafts a commercial at a broadcasting station or the like proceeds with the drafting of a commercial while referring to a timetable image displayed on the screen of the display device 200. For example, on the screen of the display device 200, the timetable may be displayed in a display state according to the operation of the operator input via the terminal (not shown).
FIG. 9 shows an example (time) in which the viewing index (first viewing index / second viewing index) of the reference time zone corresponding to each of the plurality of program frames included in the block copy data 250 is displayed in each program frame. It is a table image 251). For example, in the program frame of the time zone A on Monday, the first viewing index (10.0) and the second viewing index (7.2) in the reference time zone are displayed side by side. For example, in the program frame of the time zone B on Tuesday, the first viewing index (7.9) and the second viewing index (4.5) in the reference time zone are displayed. The display format of the timetable image 251 is an example, and does not limit the display format of the timetable generated by the image generation device 20.
For example, the timetable image 251 may display the ratio of the audience rating to the audience rating, or may change the display format according to the magnitude of the ratio of the audience rating to the audience rating. FIG. 10 is an example in which the ratio of the audience rating to the audience rating is displayed as a percentage under "Audience rating / Audience rating". FIG. 11 shows an example in which a program frame having a large ratio of viewing quality to the audience rating (75% or more) is displayed in a display format different from other program frames. If the ratio of the audience rating to the audience rating is large, the viewer's gaze is high. Therefore, if the program frame in which the ratio of the audience rating to the audience rating is large is changed as shown in FIGS. 10 and 11, the worker who drafts the CM while referring to the timetable image 251 pays close attention when the CM is inserted. It becomes easier to grasp the program frames that are likely to be played.
(motion)
Next, the operation of the image generation device 20 of the present embodiment will be described with reference to the drawings. FIG. 12 is a flowchart for explaining an example of the operation of the image generation device 20. Next, the image generation device 20 generates program frame data in which the first viewing index and the second viewing index are displayed (step S22).
Next, the image generation device 20 generates a timetable image including the generated program frame data (step S23).
The image generation device 20 outputs the generated timetable image (step S24). The timetable image output from the image generation device 20 is displayed on the screen of the display device 200.
As described above, the image generation device of the present embodiment includes an acquisition unit, a display information generation unit, and an output unit. The display information generation unit generates a timetable image in which a plurality of program frame images are arranged according to the block copy data which is a template of the time schedule of the drafting target time zone. The output unit displays the timetable image on the screen of the display device.
In one aspect of the present embodiment, the display information generation unit changes the program frame image of the program to a different display format according to the ratio of the second viewing index to the first viewing index. The output unit displays a timetable image whose display format is changed according to the size of the ratio of the second viewing index to the first viewing index on the screen of the display device.
The image generation device of the present embodiment generates a timetable image in which a plurality of program frame images are arranged according to the block copy data which is a template of the time schedule of the drafting target time zone. Therefore, according to the image generation device of the present embodiment, it is possible to generate a timetable image that enables accurate evaluation of the value of the commercial message inserted in the program frame.
