Ein nicht benötigtes Kochfeld kann von der entsprechenden Klappe überdeckt werden. Damit wird verhindert, dass Fettspritzer eines auf einem benachbarten Kochfeld stattfindenden Kochvorganges nicht auf die ande- ren Kochfelder gelangen. Da das Textil nur schwer entflammen kann, ist dies auch möglich, wenn die Kochfeldplatte immer noch warm ist. Im Übrigen ist die Gesamtfläche des Textils derart dimensioniert, dass es nicht nur die Herdplatte 7, sondern auch eine die Herdplatte 7 um- gebende Arbeitsfläche überdeckt. Damit soll eine Reinigung der Kochfeldumgebung möglichst verhindert werden. Nicht nur die Reinigungsarbeit kann gespart werden, sondern es können auch Beschädigungen, z.B. Kratzer, an der Herdplatte 7 vermieden werden, welche bei der Reinigung entstehen würden. In Fig. 4, only the hob is covered at the bottom left. This is not visible in any of the figures.
