If the angle is larger than 55 degrees, the pivot coupling 107 will be too much protruding towards the board, or the stud element will be shifted too far away beyond the boundary of the pole assembly opposite to ironing board direction, resulting in unreasonably bulky product.

This initial movement is best shown in Figs. 7B and 8A2. Subsequent pivoting of the lever 106 in the opposite direction away from the ironing board 103 causes the thus released stud element 109 to be guided towards the second groove G2. This subsequent movement is shown in Figs. 7C, 8B1, 8C1, and 8C2. As shown in Figs. 7D, 8D1, and 8D2, this subsequent movement of the lever 106 towards the second groove G2 terminates in the stud element 109 cooperating with the second groove G2.
  • the mechanism 105 in this example is further configured such that, when the stud element 109 is cooperating with the second groove G2, the stud element 109 is releasable from the second groove G2 by pivoting the lever 106 away from the ironing board 103 in an initial movement. Subsequent pivoting of the lever 106 in the opposite direction towards the ironing board 103 causes the thus released stud element 109 to be guided towards the first groove Gl.
  • This configuration of the mechanism 105 assists with tilting the ironing board 103 by the user, e.g. with one hand actuating the lever 106.
  • This configuration of the mechanism 105 may be achieved in any suitable manner, for example via the arrangement and shape of the surface of the lever 106 in which the grooves Gl, G2 are defined.
