Description

REAR BUMPER BRACKET Field of the Invention
The invention relates to a bracket which provides lateral rigidity in order to prevent flexion occurring in the rear bumper and noise caused by vibration. Background of the Invention
In land vehicles, the shock absorbing layer located at the rear and front is called bumper and it is provided on both parts of the vehicle, namely the front bumper and the rear bumper. Although the bumper differs according to each vehicle type, it is generally manufactured from plastic and similar materials. The bumper has been developed in order to absorb the collision force in case of an accident and to minimize damage to the vehicle body.
When the side area of the rear bumper, which is flexible due to its nature, is contacted, it moves inwards to the vehicle and flexes back. This movement of the rear bumper, which is essentially designed to protect the vehicle, creates a perception in users that it is non-rigid and unsafe. Furthermore, this non-rigid structure can cause vibration and noise due to vibration at high speeds. Korean patent document no KR20030040632, an application known in the state of the art, discloses a bracket structure which is integrated in a rear bumper of a vehicle and which is used for improving lateral rigidity of the rear bumper of the vehicle. The number of parts is reduced and easy assembling is provided by means of the said bracket structure. Chinese utility model no CN205706558U, an application known in the state of the art, discloses a rear bumper assembly which comprises a support structure for increasing rigidity and intensity of the rear bumper of the vehicle. Rear bumper lateral bracket which the said rear bumper support structure comprises provides continuous support for the rear bumper and increases its rigidity by means of its joint structure.
The Problems Solved with the Invention
The objective of the present invention is to provide a bracket which strengthens the lateral region of the rear bumper, and thus prevents its flexion by means of moving inside or outside the vehicle when contacted.
The objective of the present invention is to provide a bracket which prevents the rear bumper from making vibration-induced noise during driving by strengthening it.
Detailed Description of the Invention
A rear bumper bracket developed to fulfill the objectives of the present invention is illustrated in the accompanying figures, in which:
Figure 1 is the perspective view of the bracket of the present invention.
Figure 2 is the perspective view of the bracket of the present invention in its mounted state on the rear bumper.
Figure 3 is the detailed view of location where the bracket of the present invention is mounted on the rear bumper.
The components given in the figures are individually numbered where the numbers refer to the following:
1. Bracket 11. Body
12. Mounting slot
13. Support member
T. Rear bumper
A bracket (1), which is connected inside a rear bumper (T) and prevents its flexion, comprises a body (11) joining the middle part of the rear bumper (T) that is connected to the rear part of the vehicle body and the side parts extending towards the rear fender of the vehicle with each other from their inner parts facing the body of the vehicle; and mounting slot (12) positioned at both ends of the body (11) that are connected to the middle part and the side part of the rear bumper (T).
A bracket (1) of the present invention is connected to the inner part of a rear bumper (T) provided in motor vehicles, facing the vehicle body. The rear bumper (T) is connected to the rear part of the vehicle body where it is provided. The edges of the rear bumper (T) are designed to be curved to protect the vehicle body at its rear and side parts. When the rear bumper (T) is mounted on the vehicle body, it extends from the rear fender on the side of the vehicle to the rear fender on the other side.
A bracket (1) that provides rigidity by preventing the rear bumper (T) from flexing is connected to inner part of both curved parts turning and extending from the rear part of the vehicle towards the rear fender provided on the side of the vehicle. The bracket (1) comprises a mounting slot (12) positioned at both ends thereof connected to the rear bumper (T). There is a body (11) extending between the mounting slots (12) positioned at both ends of the bracket (1) and bent/angled from its middle part. The body (11) connects the part of the rear bumper (T) connected with the rear part of the vehicle body and the parts connected to the rear fender to each other like a bridge. At least one support element (13) positioned on the inner part of the body (11) strengthens the bracket (1) and prevents the rear bumper (T) from breaking while providing rigidity when flexing towards the body of the vehicle or outwards from the vehicle body.
In an embodiment of the invention, the middle part of the rear bumper (T) forming its curved surface and connected to the rear part of the vehicle and its side part connected to the rear fender of the vehicle are attached to each other with the bracket (1) mounted inside the rear bumper (T). The bracket (1) fixes the side part of the rear bumper (T) that flexes inwards or outwards from the vehicle body to its middle part that is connected to the rear part of the vehicle.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the flexible side part of the rear bumper (T) is fixed to the middle section, which is rigid, instead of fixing the lower region of the rear bumper (T) with additional connection brackets on the vehicle body in order to make it rigid. The bracket (1) is positioned in reference to the horizontal axis of the rear bumper (T) against the movement from the lateral axis. In order for a bracket (1) to compensate this force rigidly, a support member (13) comprised of a tie piece is strengthened. By means of the support members (13) provided in the body (11) of a bracket (1), the need to drill additional connection holes on a vehicle body is eliminated. With the bracket (1) of the present invention, the need for using large connection brackets to fill the space between the vehicle body and the rear bumper (T) in the current technique is eliminated, and the rear bumper (1) is enabled to be rigid by itself. The bracket (1) has provided a solution to the problems experienced in the state of the art with less cost and fewer parts.
In an embodiment of the present invention, there is a conjoining body (11) having a hollow structure.
In one embodiment of the invention, there is at least one support member (13) which is located on the inner part of a body (11). In one embodiment, there is a support member (13) whose inner part with cross structure presses on the lateral edges of the hollow body.
In one embodiment of the invention, there is a horizontal support piece which extends all along the inner part of the conjoining body (11) having hollow structure.
