Abstract
TFT層(4)と、第1電極、発光層、および第2電極を含む発光素子層(5)と、前記発光素子層よりも上層に形成され、前記発光層からの光の色を変換する波長変換層(43)と、前記波長変換層よりも上層に形成された誘電体層(45)と、前記誘電体層よりも上層に形成され、コアおよびコア周りのシェルを有する金属ナノ粒子(NP)を含む粒子層(47)とを備える。
Description
本発明は、表示装置に関する。
特許文献1には、青色光を受けて赤色光を発する波長変換層、および青色光を受けて緑色光を発する波長変換層それぞれに、プラズモン共鳴を発現する金属粒子を含有させる構成が開示されている。
前記従来の構成では、励起用の青色光が、波長変換層の発光体に照射される前に金属粒子のプラズモン共鳴によって後方散乱される成分が必ず存在するため、赤色光および緑色光の強度を効果的に高めることができないという問題がある。
本発明の一実施形態にかかる表示装置は、TFT層と、第1電極、発光層、および第2電極を含む発光素子層とを備える表示装置であって、前記発光素子層の光出射側に、波長変換層、誘電体層、および粒子層がこの順に設けられ、前記粒子層は、コアおよび前記コア周りのシェルを有する金属ナノ粒子を含む。
本発明の一態様によれば、波長変換層よりも上層の粒子層に金属ナノ粒子が含まれているため、波長変換層で波長変換されなかった発光素子層からの励起光(漏れ光)を金属ナノ粒子によって後方散乱させて波長変換層に入射させることができる。これにより、波長変換層で波長変換された光の強度を高めることができる。
〔実施形態1〕

表示装置2では、第1基材12の上側に、バリア層3、TFT層4、トップエミッション型の発光素子層5、波長変換層43、誘電体層45、粒子層47、および第2基材49がこの順に配される。すなわち、トップエミッション型の発光素子層5の光出射側に、照射された光と異なる波長の光を発する波長変換層43、誘電体層45、粒子層47がこの順に設けられる。光出射側は、トップエミッション型では上層側(第2基材側)、ボトムエミッション型では下層側(第1基材側)となる。表示装置2は、例えば、第2基材49、粒子層47、誘電体層45および波長変換層43を含む積層体を、TFT層上の発光素子層5に貼り合わせて構成することもできる。
表示部DAに複数のサブ画素SPが形成される。表示部DAを取り囲む額縁部NAには、電子回路基板(ICチップ、FPC等)をマウントするための端子部TAが形成される。
第1基材12は、ガラス基板でもよいし、ポリイミド等の樹脂膜を含む可撓性基板でもよい。
バリア層3は、水、酸素等の異物がTFT層4および発光素子層5に侵入することを防ぐ層であり、例えば、CVD法により形成される、酸化シリコン膜、窒化シリコン膜、あるいは酸窒化シリコン膜、またはこれらの積層膜で構成することができる。
図1(b)に示すように、TFT(薄膜トランジスタ)層4は、バリア層3よりも上層の半導体層(半導体膜15を含む)と、半導体層よりも上層の無機絶縁膜16(ゲート絶縁膜)と、無機絶縁膜16よりも上層の第1金属層(ゲート電極GEを含む)と、第1金属層よりも上層の無機絶縁膜18と、無機絶縁膜18よりも上層の第2金属層(容量電極CEを含む)と、第2金属層よりも上層の無機絶縁膜20と、無機絶縁膜20よりも上層の第3金属層(データ信号線DLを含む)と、第3金属層よりも上層の平坦化膜21とを含む。
半導体層は、例えば、アモルファスシリコン、LTPS(低温ポリシリコン)、または酸化物半導体で構成され、ゲート電極GEおよび半導体膜15を含むように、薄膜トランジスタTRが構成される。図中の薄膜トランジスタTRはボトムゲート構造であるが、トップゲート構造でもよい。
表示部DAには、サブ画素SPごとに発光素子X(Xr・Xg・Xb)および画素回路が設けられ、TFT層4には、この画素回路およびこれに接続する配線が形成される。画素回路に接続する配線としては、例えば、第1金属層に形成される、走査信号線GLおよび発光制御線EM、第2金属層に形成される初期化電源線IL、3金属層に形成される、データ信号線DLおよび高電圧側電源線PL等が挙げられる。画素回路には、発光素子Xの電流を制御する駆動トランジスタ、走査信号線GLと電気的に接続する書き込みトランジスタ、発光制御線EMに電気的に接続する発光制御トランジスタ等が含まれる。
第1金属層、第2金属層、および第3金属層は、例えば、アルミニウム、タングステン、モリブデン、タンタル、クロム、チタン、および銅の少なくとも1つを含む金属の単層膜あるいは複層膜によって構成される。
無機絶縁膜16・18・20は、例えば、CVD法によって形成された、酸化シリコン(SiOx)膜あるいは窒化シリコン(SiNx)膜またはこれらの積層膜によって構成することができる。平坦化膜21は、例えば、ポリイミド、アクリル樹脂等の塗布可能な有機材料によって構成することができる。
発光素子層5は、平坦化膜21上に形成される、第1電極(アノード)22と、第1電極22のエッジを覆う絶縁性のエッジカバー膜23と、エッジカバー膜23よりも上層の機能層(活性層)24と、機能層24よりも上層の第2電極(カソード)25とを含む。エッジカバー膜23は、例えば、ポリイミド、アクリル樹脂等の有機材料を塗布した後にフォトリソグラフィよってパターニングすることで形成される。
発光素子層5、波長変換層43、誘電体層45、および粒子層47によって、発光素子Xr(赤色発光)、発光素子Xg(緑色発光)および発光素子Xb(青色発光)が形成される。
第1電極22および波長変換層43(43r・43g・43b)は、発光素子ごとの島状とされるが、機能層24、第2電極25、誘電体層45、および粒子層47については、複数の発光素子で共通する共通層であってもよい。機能層24は、図1(c)に示すように、例えば、第1電極22側から順に、正孔注入層24a、正孔輸送層24b、発光層24c、電子輸送層24d、電子注入層24eを積層することで構成される。発光層24cは、例えば、近紫外光(320nm~420nm)を発する有機層であるが、これに限定されず、無機層であってもよい。
第1電極22(陽極)は、例えばITO(Indium Tin Oxide)とAg(銀)あるいはAgを含む合金との積層膜で構成され、光反射性を有する。第2電極25は、例えば、マグネシウム銀(MgAg)合金で構成され、光透過性を有する。
図2(a)は表示領域の構成例を示す断面図であり、図2(b)は波長変換層の作用を示す断面図であり、図2(c)(d)は金属ナノ粒子の断面構成を示す模式図である。図2に示すように、発光素子層5の上層に、発光素子Xrに対応する赤色波長変換層43r、発光素子Xgに対応する緑色波長変換層43g、および発光素子Xbに対応する青色波長変換層43bを含む波長変換層43が設けられ、波長変換層43の上層に誘電体層45が設けられ、誘電体層45の上層に金属ナノ粒子NPを含む粒子層47が設けられる。
図3(a)は発光層の発光特性を示すグラフであり、図3(b)は波長変換層の発光体の発光特性を示す表であり、図3(c)は金属ナノ粒子の消光特性を示すグラフである。発光素子層5の発光層は、発光素子Xr・Xg・Xbに共通する共通層であり、図3(a)に示すように、励起光である近紫外光LV(ピーク波長約350nm)を波長変換層43に出射する。発光層の材料として、例えばトリアゾール系誘導体TAZを用いることができる。発光素子Xr・Xg・Xbそれぞれの近紫外光LVの強度は、対応するサブ画素の階調に応じた値とされる。
図2(b)および図3(b)に示すように、赤色波長変換層43rは、透明樹脂43jと、透明樹脂43jに分散され、近紫外光を受けて赤色光Lr(ピーク波長620nm)を発する第1発光体Erとを含む。緑色波長変換層43gは、透明樹脂43jと、透明樹脂43jに分散され、近紫外光を受けて緑色光Lg(ピーク波長510nm)を発する第2発光体Egとを含む。青色波長変換層43bは、透明樹脂43jと、透明樹脂43jに分散され、近紫外光を受けて青色光Lb(ピーク波長450nm)を発する第3発光体Ebとを含む。なお、隣り合う波長変換層はブラックマトリクスBMで仕切られている。
透明樹脂43jには、例えばポリメチルメタクリレート、第1発光体Erには、例えばルモゲンレッド、第2発光体Egには、例えばクマリン、第3発光体Ebには、例えばシアノアントラセンを用いることができる。
図2(a)に示すように、粒子層47は、透光性のバインダー樹脂bdに金属ナノ粒子NPが分散する構成であり、発光素子Xr・Xg・Xbに共通する共通層として、ガラス等の第2基材49上に形成される。誘電体層45は、粒子層47の表面をできるだけ平坦化するために形成される共通層であり、膜厚は20nm~2μm、材質としては、酸化シリコン(SiO2)あるいは酸化チタン(TiO2)が好ましい。
金属ナノ粒子NPは、図2(c)に示すように、コアおよびコア周りのシェルを有するコアシェル構造であり、粒径は10~100nmである。金属ナノ粒子NPのコアは、例えば酸化シリコン(SiO2)であり、金属ナノ粒子NPのシェルは、例えばインジウム(In)である。
金属ナノ粒子NPは、ピーク波長が約350nmの近紫外光を受けてプラズモン共鳴し、近紫外光の大部分を後方へ散乱させる構成である。金属ナノ粒子NPに光が入射すると、金属表面における自由電子の集団的振動運動(プラズモン)が発生し、これによって誘起された電場と入射光とが共鳴することで、特定波長の入射光を強く消光(散乱、吸収)するプラズモン共鳴が発現する。プラズモン共鳴の特性は、金属ナノ粒子NPの材質、形状、サイズ、周囲の媒体等に依存する。図3(c)に示すように、酸化シリコンのコアとインジウムのシェルで構成された金属ナノ粒子NPは、消光ピーク波長が約350nmであり、近紫外光LVについては、ほとんどを散乱させてほぼ吸収せず、波長400nm以上の可視光(赤色光、緑色光および青色光を含む)については消光しない(散乱も吸収もせず、第2基材49側に透過させる)。したがって、図2(a)のように、金属ナノ粒子NPは、波長変換されずに波長変換層43を通過した近紫外光LV(漏れ光)を受けてプラズモン共鳴し、近紫外光を後方(波長変換層43側)に散乱させる一方、赤色光Lr、緑色光Lg、および青色光Lbはほぼ透過させる。なお、コアシェル構造ではないインジウムナノ粒子では、プラズモン共鳴による近紫外光の吸収が散乱よりも強くなる。
なお、金属ナノ粒子NPのシェルをアルミニウムで構成することもでき、インジウムで構成した場合と同様の効果を得ることができる。金属ナノ粒子NPのシェルとしては、Ag、Ti、TiO、Siを用いることもできる。
実施形態1では、図2(b)に示すように、赤色波長変換層43rが、発光層からの近紫外光LVと、金属ナノ粒子NPからの近紫外光(散乱光)とを受けて赤色光Lrを発し、緑色波長変換層43gが、発光層からの近紫外光LVと、金属ナノ粒子NPからの近紫外光(散乱光)とを受けて緑色光Lgを発し、青色波長変換層43bが、発光層からの近紫外光LVと、金属ナノ粒子NPからの近紫外光(散乱光)とを受けて青色光Lbを発する。このため、従来のように波長変換層内に金属ナノ粒子を分散させる構成と比較して、赤色光Lr、緑色光Lg、および青色光Lbの強度を高めることができる。
金属ナノ粒子NPは、図2(c)に示す構成に限られない。図2(d)に示すように、コアシェル構造の金属ナノ粒子NPが、金属シェルの表面に、コアよりも粒径の小さな誘電体粒子を担持する構成でもよい。誘電体粒子は、例えば酸化シリコン(SiO2)であり、波長約350nmの近紫外光を波長変換層43側にレイリー散乱させ、可視光をほぼ透過させる構成である。こうすれば、粒子層47から波長変換層43に入射する近紫外光をさらに増やすことができ、赤色光Lr、緑色光Lg、および青色光Lbの強度を高めることができる。
〔実施形態2〕
図4(a)は表示領域の構成例を示す断面図であり、図4(b)は波長変換層の作用を示す断面図であり、図4(c)(d)は金属粒子の断面構成を示す模式図である。図4に示すように、発光素子層5の上層に、発光素子Xrに対応する赤色波長変換層43r、発光素子Xgに対応する緑色波長変換層43g、および発光素子Xbに対応する透過層43Tを含む波長変換層43が設けられ、波長変換層43の上層に誘電体層45が設けられ、誘電体層45の上層に金属ナノ粒子NPを含む粒子層47が設けられる。
図4(a)は表示領域の構成例を示す断面図であり、図4(b)は波長変換層の作用を示す断面図であり、図4(c)(d)は金属粒子の断面構成を示す模式図である。図4に示すように、発光素子層5の上層に、発光素子Xrに対応する赤色波長変換層43r、発光素子Xgに対応する緑色波長変換層43g、および発光素子Xbに対応する透過層43Tを含む波長変換層43が設けられ、波長変換層43の上層に誘電体層45が設けられ、誘電体層45の上層に金属ナノ粒子NPを含む粒子層47が設けられる。
図5(a)は発光層の発光特性を示すグラフであり、図5(b)は波長変換層の発光体の発光特性を示す表であり、図5(c)は金属ナノ粒子の消光特性を示すグラフである。発光素子層5の発光層は、発光素子Xr・Xg・Xbに共通する共通層であり、図5(a)に示すように、励起光である青色光LB(波長域430~480nm、ピーク波長450nm)を波長変換層43に出射する。 発光素子Xr・Xg・Xbそれぞれの青色光LBの強度は、対応するサブ画素の階調に応じた値とされる。
図4(b)および図5(b)に示すように、赤色波長変換層43rは、透明樹脂43jと、透明樹脂43jに分散され、青色光を受けて赤色光Lr(ピーク波長620nm)を発する第4発光体ERを含む。緑色波長変換層43gは、透明樹脂43jと、透明樹脂43jに分散され、青色光を受けて緑色光Lg(ピーク波長510nm)を発する第5発光体EGを含む。発光素子Xbに対応する透過層43Tは、青色光LBを透過させる透明樹脂43jで構成される。
図4(a)に示すように、粒子層47は、透光性のバインダー樹脂bdに金属ナノ粒子NPが分散する構成であり、ガラス等の第2基材49上に形成される。図4(a)に示すように、粒子層47では、発光素子Xr・Xgに対応する領域にのみ金属ナノ粒子NPが存在し、発光素子Xbに対応する領域には金属ナノ粒子NPは存在しない。
誘電体層45は、粒子層47の表面をできるだけ平坦化するために形成される共通層であり、膜厚は20nm~2μm、材質としては、酸化シリコン(SiO2)あるいは酸化チタン(TiO2)が好ましい。
金属ナノ粒子NPは、図5(c)に示すように、コアおよびコア周りのシェルを有するコアシェル構造であり、粒径は10~100nmである。金属ナノ粒子NPのコアは、例えば酸化シリコン(SiO2)であり、金属ナノ粒子NPのシェルは、例えば銀(Ag)である。
金属ナノ粒子NPは、ピーク波長450nmの青色光を受けてプラズモン共鳴し、青色光を後方へ散乱させる構成である。図3(c)に示すように、酸化シリコンのコアと銀のシェルで構成された金属ナノ粒子NPは、消光ピーク波長が450nmであり、青色光LBについては、ほとんどを散乱させてほぼ吸収せず、波長500nm以上の可視光(赤色光および緑色光を含む)については消光しない(散乱も吸収もせず、第2基材49側に透過させる)。したがって、図4(a)に示すように、金属ナノ粒子NPは、波長変換されずに波長変換層43を通過した青色光LB(漏れ光)を受けてプラズモン共鳴し、青色光を後方(波長変換層43側)に散乱させる一方、赤色光Lrおよび緑色光Lgはほぼ透過させる。なお、コアシェル構造ではない銀ナノ粒子では、プラズモン共鳴による青色光の吸収が散乱よりも強くなる。
実施形態2では、図4(b)に示すように、赤色波長変換層43rが、発光層からの青色光LBと、金属ナノ粒子NPからの青色光(散乱光)とを受けて赤色光Lrを発し、緑色波長変換層43gが、発光層からの青色光LBと、金属ナノ粒子NPからの青色光(散乱光)とを受けて緑色光Lgを発する。このため、従来のように波長変換層内に金属ナノ粒子を分散させる構成と比較して、赤色光Lrおよび緑色光Lgの強度を高めることができる。
金属ナノ粒子NPは、図4(c)に示す構成に限られない。図4(d)に示すように、コアシェル構造の金属ナノ粒子NPが、金属シェルの表面に、コアよりも粒径の小さな誘電体粒子を担持する構成でもよい。誘電体粒子は、例えば酸化シリコン(SiO2)であり、波長450nmの青色光を波長変換層43側にレイリー散乱させる構成である。こうすれば、粒子層47から波長変換層43に入射する青色光をさらに増やすことができ、赤色光Lrおよび緑色光Lgの強度を高めることができる。
青色光LBを発する発光層の材料を以下に例示する。
低分子有機発光材料としては、例えば、4,4’-ビス(2,2’-ジフェニルビニル)-ビフェニル(DPVBi)等の芳香族ジメチリデン化合物、5-メチル-2-[2-[4-(5-メチル-2-ベンゾオキサゾリル)フェニル]ビニル]ベンゾオキサゾール等のオキサジアゾール化合物、3-(4-ビフェニルイル)-4-フェニル-5-t-ブチルフェニル-1,2,4-トリアゾール(TAZ)等のトリアゾール誘導体、1,4-ビス(2-メチルスチリル)ベンゼン等のスチリルベンゼン化合物、フルオレノン誘導体等の発光性有機材料等が挙げられる。
高分子発光材料としては、例えば、ポリ(2-デシルオキシ-1,4-フェニレン)(DO-PPP)、等のポリフェニレンビニレン誘導体、ポリ(9,9-ジオクチルフルオレン)(PDAF)等のポリスピロ誘導体が挙げられる。
発光層に任意に含まれる発光性のドーパントとしては、OLED用の公知のドーパント材料を挙げることができる。このようなドーパント材料として、例えば、スチリル誘導体等の発光材料、ビス[(4,6-ジフルオロフェニル)-ピリジナト-N,C2’]ピコリネートイリジウム(III)(FIrpic)、ビス(4’,6‘-ジフルオロフェニルポリジナト)テトラキス(1-ピラゾイル)ボレートイリジウム(III)(FIr6)等の燐光発光有機金属錯体等が挙げられる。
ドーパントを使用する際のホスト材料としては、OLED用の公知のホスト材料を挙げることができる。このようなホスト材料としては、上述した低分子発光材料、高分子発光材料、4,4’-ビス(カルバゾール)ビフェニル、9,9-ジ(4-ジカルバゾール-ベンジル)フルオレン(CPF)、3,6-ビス(トリフェニルシリル)カルバゾール(mCP)、(PCF)等のカルバゾール誘導体、4-(ジフェニルフォスフォイル)-N,N-ジフェニルアニリン(HM-A1)等のアニリン誘導体、1,3-ビス(9-フェニル-9H-フルオレン-9-イル)ベンゼン(mDPFB)、1,4-ビス(9-フェニル-9H-フルオレン-9-イル)ベンゼン(pDPFB)等のフルオレン誘導体等が挙げられる。
第4発光体ERの材料を以下に例示する。
青色の励起光を赤色光に変換する蛍光色素として、シアニン系色素:4-ジシアノメチレン-2-メチル-6-(p-ジメチルアミノスチルリル)-4H-ピラン、ピリジン系色素:1-エチル-2-[4-(p-ジメチルアミノフェニル)-1,3-ブタジエニル]-ピリジニウム-パークロレート、およびローダミン系色素:ローダミンB、ローダミン6G、ローダミン3B、ローダミン101、ローダミン110、ベーシックバイオレット11、スルホローダミン101等が挙げられる。
青色の励起光を赤色光に変換する蛍光体として、Y2O2S:Eu3+、YAlO3:Eu3+、Ca2Y2(SiO4)6:Eu3+、LiY9(SiO4)6O2:Eu3+、YVO4:Eu3+、CaS:Eu3+、Gd2O3:Eu3+、Gd2O2S:Eu3+、Y(P,V)O4:Eu3+、Mg4GeO5.5F:Mn4+、Mg4GeO6:Mn4+、K5Eu2.5(WO4)6.25、Na5Eu2.5(WO4)6.25、K5Eu2.5(MoO4)6.25、Na5Eu2.5(MoO4)6.25等が挙げられる。
第5発光体EGの材料を以下に例示する。
有機系蛍光体材料としては、青色の励起光を緑色光に変換する蛍光色素として、クマリン系色素:2,3,5,6-1H、4H-テトラヒドロ-8-トリフロメチルキノリジン(9,9a、1-gh)クマリン(クマリン153)、3-(2′-ベンゾチアゾリル)―7-ジエチルアミノクマリン(クマリン6)、3-(2′-ベンゾイミダゾリル)―7-N,N-ジエチルアミノクマリン(クマリン7)、ナフタルイミド系色素:ベーシックイエロー51、ソルベントイエロー11、ソルベントイエロー116,フルオレセイン系色素等が挙げられる。
無機系蛍光体材料としては、青色の励起光を緑色光に変換する蛍光体として、(BaMg)Al16O27:Eu2+,Mn2+、Sr4Al14O25:Eu2+、(SrBa)Al12Si2O8:Eu2+、(BaMg)2SiO4:Eu2+、Y2SiO5:Ce3+,Tb3+、Sr2P2O7-Sr2B2O5:Eu2+、(BaCaMg)5(PO4)3Cl:Eu2+、Sr2Si3O8-2SrCl2:Eu2+、Zr2SiO4、MgAl11O19:Ce3+,Tb3+、Ba2SiO4:Eu2+、Sr2SiO4:Eu2+、(BaSr)SiO4:Eu2+等が挙げられる。
なお、有機系燐光体材料として、青色の励起光を赤色光及び緑色光に変換するホスト材料には、有機金属錯体、オキサジアゾール系化合物、フェナントロリン系化合物、トリアジン系化合物、トリアゾール系化合物、及びスピロフルオレン系化合物よりなる群から選択された一つ以上が用いられることが望ましい。
青色の励起光を赤色光及び緑色光に変換する燐光ドーパントには、ビスチエニルピリジンアセチルアセトネートイリジウム、ビス(ベンゾチエニルピリジン)アセチルアセトネートイリジウム、ビス(2-フェニルベンゾチアゾール)アセチルアセトネートイリジウム、ビス(1-フェニルイソキノリン)イリジウムアセチルアセトネート、トリス(1-フェニルイソキノリン)イリジウム、及びトリス(2-フェニルピリジン)イリジウムよりなる群から選択された一つ以上が用いられることが望ましい。
無機系燐光体材料として、青色の励起光を赤色光及び緑色光に変換する材料には、CaS:Eu2+ ,Mn2+ 、SrS:Eu2+、(Zn,Cd)S:Ag;M g 4GeO5.5F:MN4+、ZnSe:Cu、又はZnSeS:Cu,Cl及びZnS:Cu+、SrGa2S4:Eu2+、YAG:Ce3+、BaSrGa4S7:Euが用いられることが望ましい。
〔実施形態3〕
図6(a)(b)は表示領域の構成例を示す断面図である。図6(a)に示すように、図2(a)に示す構成において、粒子層47よりも上層に、発光素子Xrに対応する赤色カラーフィルタ48r、発光素子Xgに対応する緑色カラーフィルタ48g、および発光素子Xbに対応する青色カラーフィルタ48bを含むカラーフォルタ層48を設けることもできる。
図6(a)(b)は表示領域の構成例を示す断面図である。図6(a)に示すように、図2(a)に示す構成において、粒子層47よりも上層に、発光素子Xrに対応する赤色カラーフィルタ48r、発光素子Xgに対応する緑色カラーフィルタ48g、および発光素子Xbに対応する青色カラーフィルタ48bを含むカラーフォルタ層48を設けることもできる。
また、図6(b)に示すように、図4(a)に示す構成において、粒子層47よりも上層に、発光素子Xrに対応する赤色カラーフィルタ48r、発光素子Xgに対応する緑色カラーフィルタ48g、および発光素子Xbに対応する青色カラーフィルタ48bを含むカラーフォルタ層48を設けることもできる。こうすれば、赤色光、緑色光、および青色光の半値幅を狭め、色純度を高めることができる。
上述の各実施形態は、例示および説明を目的とするものであり、限定を目的とするものではない。これら例示および説明に基づけば、多くの変形形態が可能になることが、当業者には明らかである。
〔まとめ〕

TFT層と、第1電極、発光層、および第2電極を含む発光素子層とを備える表示装置であって、

Claims (18)
- TFT層と、第1電極、発光層、および第2電極を含む発光素子層とを備える表示装置であって、
前記発光素子層の光出射側に、波長変換層、誘電体層、および粒子層がこの順に設けられ、
前記粒子層は、コアおよび前記コア周りのシェルを有する金属ナノ粒子を含む表示装置。 - 前記金属ナノ粒子は、前記発光層からの光にプラズモン共鳴する請求項1に記載の表示装置。
- 前記発光層は近紫外光を発する請求項1または2に記載の表示装置。
- 前記波長変換層は、前記発光層からの近紫外光を赤色光に変換する第1発光体を有する赤色波長変換層と、前記発光層からの近紫外光を緑色光に変換する第2発光体を有する緑色波長変換層と、前記発光層からの近紫外光を青色光に変換する第3発光体を有する青色波長変換層とを含む請求項3に記載の表示装置。
- 前記粒子層は、前記金属ナノ粒子およびバインダー樹脂を含む請求項3または4に記載の表示装置。
- シェル表面に誘電体粒子が担持されている請求項3~5のいずれか1つに記載の表示装置。
- 前記コアは、酸化シリコンで構成され、前記シェルは、インジウム、アルミニウム、銀のいずれかで構成されている請求項3~6のいずれか1つに記載の表示装置。
- 前記赤色波長変換層、前記緑色波長変換層、および前記青色波長変換層それぞれの上方には、対応する色のカラーフィルタが設けられる請求項4に記載の表示装置。
