発明を実施するための形態
[0021] 以下、 図面を参照しながら、 この発明に係わる一実施形態を説明する。
図 1は、 ネッ トワーク管理システムの一例を示す図である。
ここで、 従来技術における課題について説明する。
図 1 に示されるように、 ネッ トワーク管理システム (ネッ トワーク管理装 置) による管理対象ネッ トワークが、 6台の Ethernet (登録商標) Switch ( 以下、 単に Swi tchと称することがある) である Switchl、 Switch2、 Switch3、 Switch4、 Switch5、 および Swi tch6と、 1台の IP (インターネッ トプロトコル (Internet Protocol) ) Router (以下、 単に Routerと称することがある) である Routerで構成されるとする。
[0022] この管理対象ネッ トワークでは、 2台のパーソナルコンビュータ (PC (Per sona I computer) ) である PC1と PC2とのうち PC1に対して Swi tch2、 および Swi tch3の一端が通信可能に並列接続され、 Switch2、 および Switch3の他端に対 して Routerの一端が通信可能に接続され、 Routerの他端に対して Swi tch4、 お よび Swi tch5の一端が通信可能に並列接続され、 Switch4、 および Switch5の他 端に対して Swi tch6の一端が通信可能に接続され、 Switch6の他端に PC2が通信 可能に接続される。
[0023] このネッ トワーク上に PC1と PC2とを通信可能に接続して利用したいユーザ からの要望に対して、 オペレータは、 図 1で示される機器で形成可能な下記 の 4通りの通信経路の中から 1つの経路を選択して、 この選択した経路に対 応するネッ トワーク管理情報 (エンティティ) をネッ トワーク管理システム に対して生成する作業を実施する。

[0025] ネッ トワーク管理システムで管理するエンティティとして、 以下の種類が 存在する。
物理レイヤの構成では、 PD(Phys i ca I Device), PP(Phys i ca l Port), PL(Ph ysical L ink)を含む Ent i ty (情報オブジェクト (object) ) が適用される。 論理レイヤの構成では、 TL(Topo log i ca l Link), NFD(Network Forwarding Do mai n), TPE(Termi nat i on Point Encapsulation), FRE(Forward i ng Re lat i onsh ip Encapsulation)でなる Ent i tyが適用される。 FRE は、 NC(Network Connect i on), LC(L i nk Connect), XC(Cross(X) Connec t )を含む。 このような適用により、 物理レイヤおよび論理レイヤの構成が統 _した形式で保持され得る。
[0026] ここで、 NW構成 (物理レイヤおよび論理レイヤ)のモデリングについて説明 する。 図 2は、 ネッ トワーク管理装置に適用されるネッ トワーク構成のモデ リングの _例を表形式で示す図である。
図 2に示されるように、 物理レイヤにおける Entity名は、 PD, PP,および PL に区分される。 それぞれの Entity名における 「Entity名 :意味」 の対応は下 記のとおりである。
- PD(Phys i ca I Device) :装置
- PP (Physical Port) :装置が有する通信ポート (port)
- PL (Physical Link) :装置間の接続ケーブル (cable)

- FREの LC(Link Connect) : TPEで終端される装置間の接続性
- FREの XC(Cross Connect) : TPEで終端される装置内の接続性

図 3に示されるように、 オペレータによる選択により (図 3中の a) 管理 対象ネッ トワークに上記の経路 (1 ) rPC1 ®Swi tch1 ®Swi tch2®Router®Sw itch4®Switch6®PC2j が割り当てられた (図 3中の b) ネッ トワーク管理情 報をネッ トワーク管理システムで保持する場合、 下記のようにエンティティ の総数は 90個であるので、 この数に応じた合計 90回の生成指示 (図 3中 の c) をオペレータが実施する必要がある。
(物理情報:物理レイヤ) PD : 9個、 PP : 20個、 PL : 5個 (論理情報の IPレイヤ、 Ethernetレイヤ、 および Log i ca L Dev i ceレイヤ (L Dレイヤと呼ぶこともある) :論理レイヤ) TL : 6個、 NFD : 6個、 TPE : 2 8個、 FRE(NC) : 3個、 FRE (LC) : 8個、 FRE(XC) : 5個
このように経路選択とエンティティ作成のための負荷が膨大になることが ある。 論理レイヤは、 IPレイヤ、 Ethernetレイヤ、 および Logical Deviceレ イヤの順で連なる複数の層でなり、 IPレイヤは論理レイヤ最上層に対応し、 L ogical Dev iceレイヤは論理レイヤ最下層に対応する。 論理レイヤ最下層は、 物理レイヤの上位レイヤとして定義される。

図 4に示された例では、 本発明の一実施形態では、 ネッ トワーク管理シス テム 1 0は、 経路選択部 1 1、 Entity DB (データべース (database) ) 1 2 、 エンティティ補完部 1 3、 および Spec (Specification (仕様) ) DB 1 4 を有する。 これらに係る処理の詳細は後述する。

ネッ トワーク管理システム 1 0の経路選択部 1 1、 Entity DB 1 2, エンテ ィティ補完部 1 3、 および Spec DB1 4の機能は、 プログラム (program) を 実行する C P U (Central Processing Unit) 等のプロセッサ (processor)
、 キーボード (keyboard) などの入力装置、 ディスプレイ (display) などの 出力装置、 および RAM (Random Access Memory) 、 ROM (Read Only Mem ory) 等の記憶媒体を含むコンピュータ (computer) などを用いて実現される 。 各部の動作については後述する。
[0031 ] なお、 ネッ トワーク管理システム 1 0はハードウエアで構成することもで きるが、 後述するフローチャートに示された手順を備えるプログラムを、 媒 体もしくは通信回線を介して周知のコンビュータにインストール (i nsta l l) して、 このコンビユータと Ent i ty DB 1 2および Spec DB 1 4との組み合わせ 、 又は Ent i ty DB 1 2および Spec DB 1 4を有するコンビュータなどによって も実現可能である。

オペレータは、 (1) 「物理ネッ トワークに対応する物理エンティティの 生成指示」 と、 (2) 「ユーザからの要望に基づき開通させるネッ トワーク の始点と終点の指定」 のための操作をそれぞれ行なうこととする。 経路の選 択と、 不足するエンティティの補完とは、 経路選択部 1 1、 およびエンティ ティ補完部 1 3により自動的にそれぞれ実行される。
本発明の一実施形態により、 オペレータによる、 エンティティ生成に係る 作業を減らすことが可能となる。

例えば、 図 3に示された例では、 計 9 0個のエンティティの生成に係る作 業が必要である。 これに対し、 図 5に示された例では、 本発明の一実施形態 により、 同じ条件のネッ トワークにおいて、 論理情報の IPレイヤ、 Ethernet レイヤ、 および Log i ca l Dev i ceレイヤの上記計 5 6個のエンティティはエン ティティ補完部 1 3によって生成される。 よって、 オペレータによる、 これ らのエンティティの生成作業が不要となるため、 オペレータは、 は物理情報 における上記 3 4個のエンティティの生成に係る操作を行えばよい。

(事前準備) 図 6および図 7は、 本発明の一実施形態に係るネッ トワーク管理システム による実施手順の一例を示す図である。
(1 ) オペレータは、 入力操作により、 ネッ トワーク管理システム 1 0 の Spec DB 1 4に対して、 ネッ トワークを規定する仕様 (Specification) を 登録できる。

(3) 経路選択部 1 1は、 選択した経路に対応する PP/PL/PDをエンティ ティ補完部 1 3に入力する。
(4) エンティティ補完部 1 3は、 Spec DB 1 4から Specを取得する。
(5) エンティティ補完部 1 3は、 取得した Specを用いて、 上記入力さ れた PP/PL/PDに対応する論理レイヤのエンティティ (論理エンティティと称 することもある) を生成する。

(経路選択部)
図 8は、 本発明の一実施形態に係るネッ トワーク管理システムの経路選択 部による処理手順の一例を示す図である。
経路選択部 1 1は、 物理エンティティ同士の接続関係を迪り、 始点から終 点まで、 ひと筆書きで迪り着ける経路を選択し、 選択結果として物理エンテ ィティ (PP/PL/PD) を Ent i ty DB 1 2から取得する。

エンティティ補完部 1 3は、 経路選択部 1 1から入力された PP/PL/PDに対 応する論理レイヤの Specを Spec DB 1 4から取得する。 エンティティ補完部 1 3は、 取得した Specの上位および下位の関係性を示す情報を取得結果と合わ せて内部メモリ (i nterna l memory) に保持する。

取得対象は 「FREXC_SW_E」 「FREXC_R_IP」 である。
