Abstract

触媒による浄化率に応じてエンジンの燃焼制御を行い、効率のよいエンジンの燃焼を行うことのできる船外機を提供する。 エンジンEの排気マニホールド39に設けられた触媒60および排気管44に設けられた第2触媒61と、触媒60の上流側および下流側に設置された空燃比センサ71およびO2センサ72と、エンジンEの燃焼制御を行う制御部70とを備え、制御部70は、空燃比センサ71またはO2センサ72による検出値に基づいて排気ガスの浄化率を算出し、この排気ガスの浄化率が適正となるようにエンジンEの燃焼制御を行う。

Description

船外機
 本発明は、船外機に関する。
 従来から、船外機には、エンジンに連結されてエンジンからの排気ガスを浄化するための触媒を設置する構造が提案されている。
 一般に、エンジンにおける希薄燃料燃焼(酸素過剰雰囲気燃焼)は、排ガス中に一酸化炭素(CO)、炭化水素(HC)、窒素酸化物(NOx)を多く発生させることから、それらCO、HC、NOxの高度な触媒技術が求められている。
 CO、HCを酸化浄化する技術として、従来から白金(Pt)やパラジウム(Pd)やロジウム(Rh)等の貴金属触媒を用いて酸化する方法が知られており、ディーゼルエンジン等の排ガス浄化に適用されている。しかしながら、本手法ではNOxを浄化することができないという弱点があった。
 NOxの浄化技術としては、尿素水溶液またはアンモニア(NH3)を排ガス流路内に吹き込み、触媒を利用してNOxとNH3とを化学反応させることで、NOxを還元浄化する技術が実用化されている。また、NOxを還元浄化する前に、排ガス中の一酸化窒素(NO)を一旦酸化して二酸化窒素(NO2)にすることで、NOxの還元浄化効率が向上する技術も知られている。
 ここで、触媒を用いて排気ガスの浄化を行う場合、所定の空燃比において排気ガスの酸化、還元反応が行われていることが好ましい。
 従来、排気ガスの浄化が良好に行われているか否か判断する技術として、例えば、排ガス酸化触媒のCO又はHC酸化率及びNO酸化率の経時変化を計測し、前記CO又はHC酸化率の経時変化及びNO酸化率の経時変化が、初期酸化率から低下した場合は、排ガス酸化触媒が硫黄(S)によって被毒劣化したと判定し、CO又はHC酸化率の経時変化が、初期酸化率から一旦上昇した後に低下し、かつNO酸化率の経時変化が、初期酸化率から一旦上昇した後に低下した場合は、排ガス酸化触媒がカルシウム(Ca)及び/又はバリウム(Ba)によって被毒劣化したと判定し、理論空燃比よりも燃料濃厚な混合気を前記熱機関に供給して排ガス酸化触媒の酸化能を回復させるステップを行うようにした技術が開示されている(例えば特許文献1)。

 しかし、前記各特許文献に記載の技術においては、排気管に複数触媒を設置し、センサで排気ガスの検出を行うものであるが、更に検出データを用いて、エンジンの燃焼を制御し、触媒の効率を向上させる技術は開示されていない。
 そこで、本発明は、触媒による浄化率に応じてエンジンの燃焼制御を行い、効率のよいエンジンの燃焼を行うことのできる船外機を提供することを目的とするものである。
 前記目的を達成するために、本発明は、エンジンの排気流路に設けられた少なくとも1つの触媒と、前記触媒の上流側および下流側に設置された排気ガスセンサと、前記エンジンの燃焼制御を行う制御部とを備え、前記制御部は、前記排気ガスセンサによる検出値に基づいて排気ガスの浄化率を算出し、この排気ガスの浄化率が適正となるように前記エンジンの燃焼制御を行うことを特徴とする。
 前記構成において、前記下流側に設置された排気ガスセンサの下流側に第2触媒を設置したことを特徴とする。
 前記構成において、前記制御部は、前記下流側に設置された排気ガスセンサにより検出された前記触媒を通過した後の排気ガスのO2量と、あらかじめ測定した適正なリッチ側のO2量および適正なリーン側のO2量とを比較し、前記触媒を通過した後の排気ガスのO2量が、適正なリッチ側のO2量および適正なリーン側のO2量の範囲から外れた場合に、O2量がリッチ側のO2量およびリーン側のO2量の範囲に入るように、空燃比を修正して前記エンジンの燃焼制御を行うことを特徴とする。
 前記構成において、前記制御部は、前記下流側に設置された排気ガスセンサにより検出された前記触媒を通過した後の排気ガスのO2量が異常である場合に、前記触媒の異常であると判断することを特徴とする。
 前記構成において、前記排気ガスセンサは、空燃比センサまたはO2センサのいずれかであることを特徴とする。
 前記構成において、前記触媒は、セラミック型の触媒であり、前記第2触媒は、メタル型の触媒であることを特徴とする。
 前記構成において、前記第2触媒の下流側に微粒子フィルタを配置したことを特徴とする。
 なお、この明細書には、2019年2月13日に出願された日本国特許出願・特願2019-023594号の全ての内容が含まれるものとする。
 本発明によれば、制御部により判断された第2触媒の浄化率に基づいて、第2触媒の触媒担持量を適正に決定することができ、第2触媒に用いられる貴金属量の適正化が可能となり、貴金属量低減によるコストダウンを図ることができる。また、触媒および第2触媒による浄化率を適正に判断することができるので、触媒および第2触媒を必要最小限の容量にすることができ、触媒および第2触媒の小型化を図ることができる。
図1は、本実施形態に係る船外機の要部縦断側面図である。 図2は、エンジンの排気構造の概略を示す概略構成図である。
 以下、図面を参照して本発明の実施形態について説明する。
 図1は、本実施形態に係る船外機10の要部縦断側面図である。なお、以下の説明において、前後左右とは、船外機10が取り付けられる船舶Bを平面視した状態を基準にして言うものとする。
 図1に示すように、船外機10はケーシングCを有し、このケーシングCは、マウントケース1と、このマウントケース1の下端面に結合されるエクステンションケース2と、このエクステンションケース2の下端面に結合されるギヤケース3と、により構成される。マウントケース1の上端面には、多気筒のエンジンEがクランク軸4を縦置きにして搭載される。
 船外機10には、アッパマウントゴム11を介してマウントケース1を支持する左右一対のアッパアーム12と、ロアマウントゴム13を介してエクステンションケース2を支持する左右一対のロアアーム14とが設けられる。これらアッパアーム12とロアアーム14との間にスイベル軸15が連結される。また、このスイベル軸15を回転自在に支持するスイベルケース16が、船舶BのトランサムBaに装着されるスターンブラケット17に水平方向のチルト軸18を介して上下揺動可能に支持される。
 マウントケース1には、合成樹脂製で環状のアンダカバー(図示せず)が固着される。このアンダカバーは、エンジンEの下部からエクステンションケース2の上部までの区間の周囲を覆うもので、その上端に、エンジンEを上方から覆うエンジンフード21が着脱可能に取り付けられる。このエンジンフード21及びアンダカバーにより、エンジンEを収容するエンジンルーム23が画成される。このエンジンルーム23への空気取り入れ口24がエンジンフード21の上部に設けられる。
 クランク軸4の下端には、フライホイール5と共に駆動軸6が連結される。この駆動軸6は、エクステンションケース2の内部を下方に延び、その下端はギヤケース3の内部に設けた前進後進切換機構7を介して水平方向のプロペラ軸8に接続され、このプロペラ軸8の後端にプロペラ9が固着される。
 エンジンEは、縦置きのクランク軸4を支持するクランクケース25と、このクランクケース25から後方に延びるシリンダブロック26と、このシリンダブロック26の後端に接合されるシリンダヘッド27とを有しており、クランクケース25の下面がマウントケース1にボルト結合される。シリンダブロック26は、上下に配列する複数本の気筒28を備える。
 ギヤケース3の下部には、その一側面に開口して外部の水を取り入れる取水口30が設けられる。この取水口30から取り入れられた外水が水ポンプ32によってエンジンEに冷却水として圧送され、エンジンEの各部を冷却する。エンジンEを冷却し終えた冷却水は、エクステンションケース2に放出され、そしてプロペラ軸8のボスに形成される排出孔33を通して外部に排出される。
 マウントケース1の下面には、エクステンションケース2内の上部中央に配置されるオイルパン35が結合され、このオイルパン35には、エンジンEの各部に供給される潤滑オイルが貯留される。
 シリンダヘッド27には、クランク軸4と平行な動弁用の左右それぞれのカム軸36が回転自在に支持され、クランク軸4からこれらカム軸36を所定の減速比をもって駆動するベルト式の調時伝動装置37がシリンダブロック26の上方に配設される。
 シリンダヘッド27には、複数の排気ポートに連通する排気マニホールド39が設けられ、この排気マニホールド39の下端に開口する排気出口39Aは、マウントケース1の下面に延びる管状の排気通路40に連通する。この排気通路40は、マウントケース1の下面において、エクステンションケース2内のオイルパン35に連設された排気ガイド41に接合される。排気ガイド41の下端部には、排気管44の上端に形成された連結フランジ45がボルト46によりフランジ結合される。排気管44は、エクステンションケース2の内部において下方に延び、その下端部44Aの排気口47がケーシングCの中で開口し、エンジンEの排気ガスをケーシングC内で排出する。この下端部44Aの排気口47の高さより下に、船舶Bの通常走航時の喫水線Wが位置する。
 図2は、エンジンの排気構造の概略を示す概略構成図である。
 図2に示すように、エンジンEは、多気筒のガソリンエンジンEであり、エンジンEは、エンジンEのシリンダヘッド27には、箱型の排気マニホールド39が連結されている。
 排気マニホールド39の下方には、排気管44が連結されている。排気マニホールド39の下端には、下方に延在する連結部50が設けられており、連結部50の下端部には、フランジ51が設けられている。
 連結部50のフランジ51には、排気管44の連結フランジ45が接続されており、これにより、排気マニホールド39の下端部に排気管44が連結されるように構成されている。これら排気マニホールド39および排気管44により排気流路が構成される。
 本実施形態においては、排気マニホールド39の連結部50の内側には、触媒60が設置されている。
 また、本実施形態においては、排気管44の内部には、第2触媒61が設置されている。
 触媒60および第2触媒61は、排気ガス中の炭化水素(HC)、一酸化炭素(CO)及び酸化窒素(NOx)等の有害成分を酸化、還元反応によって除去する三元触媒であり、例えば、多孔質のハニカム構造体に、白金、パラジウム、ロジウム等の触媒成分をコーティングしたハニカム触媒構造を有している。なお、ハニカム触媒構造に限定されず、プレート材に触媒成分を担持させたプレート触媒構造等の簡易型にしてもよい。
 例えば、触媒60は、セラミック型触媒を用いて浄化率を高め、排気管44に設置した第2触媒61は、排気圧損低減とコスト低減のためにメタル型触媒を用いる。これにより、排気の圧損とコストとの総合的なバランスを図ることができる。
 なお、排気の圧損とコストとの総合的なバランスを図ることができるのであれば、触媒60にメタル型触媒を用い、第2触媒61にセラミック型触媒を用いるようにしてもよい。
 また、船外機10は、制御部70を備えている。制御部70は、マイクロコンピュータ等で構成され、エンジンE23を含む船外機10の各部を中枢的に制御する。
 制御部70は、スロットル量及びエンジンEの回転数等に合わせて燃料噴射量を制御するエンジンEの通常制御を行うと共に、このエンジンEの制御の際に、燃料噴射量等を適宜に調整することによって、燃料と空気の混合比である空燃比をリーン側等に制御するリーン燃焼制御を行う機能を有している。
 本実施形態においては、排気マニホールド39の上部には、排気マニホールド39の内部における排気ガスの空燃比を検出するための排気ガスセンサとしての空燃比センサ71が設けられている。空燃比センサ71は、シリンダヘッド27から排出される排気ガスの空燃比を検出するものである。なお、排気ガスセンサとして、空燃比センサ71を用いた場合の例を示しているが、これに限定されるものではなく、O2量を検出するO2センサあるいはNOxの濃度を検出するNOxセンサを用いるようにしてもよい。
 排気マニホールド39の連結部50に設置される触媒60と、排気管44に設置される第2の触媒との間には、排気ガスセンサとしてのO2センサ72が設けられている。O2センサ72は、排気ガスに含まれるO2量を検出するものである。
 制御部70は、空燃比センサ71およびO2センサ72の検出結果に基づいて、触媒60および第2触媒61のそれぞれの排気浄化状態を特定可能な情報を取得する。
 より具体的には、制御部70は、空燃比センサ71により検出される空燃比およびO2センサ72により検出されるO2量に基づいて、公知の手法により触媒60を通過した後の浄化率を求める。
 制御部70は、触媒60を通過した後の排気ガスの浄化率に基づいて、第2触媒61による浄化量がどの程度行われれば、第2触媒61を通過した後の排気ガスが適正となるか否かを判断する。
 これにより、制御部70により判断された第2触媒61の浄化率に基づいて、第2触媒61の触媒担持量を適正に決定することができ、第2触媒61に用いられる貴金属量の適正化が可能となり、貴金属量低減によるコストダウンを図ることができる。
 また、触媒60および第2触媒61による浄化率を適正に判断することができるので、触媒60および第2触媒61を必要最小限の容量にすることができ、触媒60および第2触媒61の小型化を図ることができる。
 また、制御部70は、O2センサ72により検出された触媒60を通過した後の排気ガスのO2量と、あらかじめ測定した適正なリッチ側のO2量および適正なリーン側のO2量と比較し、触媒60後のO2量が適正な範囲にあるか否かを判断する。
 そして、制御部70は、検出した触媒60を通過した後のO2量が、適正なリッチ側のO2量および適正なリーン側のO2量の範囲から外れた場合に、O2量がリッチ側のO2量およびリーン側のO2量の範囲に入るように、空燃比を修正してエンジンEの燃焼制御を行うように構成されている。
 このように排気ガスの浄化率を、適正なO2量と比較することで、エンジンEの空燃比を精度よく保持することができる。
 また、制御部70は、排気ガスのO2量を検出して、このO2量が異常である場合に、例えば、経年劣化による触媒60が異常(故障、劣化など)であると判断するように構成されている。
 そして、制御部70は、触媒60が異常であると判断した場合に、例えば、船舶の操縦者に報知する手段を設けるようにしてもよい。これにより、触媒60の異常による排気ガスの排ガス規制違反を防止することができ、エンジンEを保護することも可能となる。
 また、排気管44の第2触媒61の下流側、すなわち、排気口47の近傍には、微粒子フィルタ65が配置されている。微粒子フィルタ65により触媒60および第2触媒61を通過した排気ガスに含まれる微粒子を除去することができる。これにより、PM規制およびPN規制に対応することができる。
 次に、本実施形態の作用について説明する。
 本実施形態においては、エンジンEを駆動することにより、エンジンEの駆動力は、クランク軸4、駆動軸6を介してプロペラ軸8に伝達され、これにより、プロペラ9を回転させて船舶の前進または後進が行われる。
 エンジンEのシリンダヘッドから排出される排気は、排気マニホールド39から排気管44に送られる。
 そして、触媒60および第2触媒61により、排気ガス中の有害成分を酸化、還元反応によって除去し、排気管44の排気口47を介してエクステンションケース2に排出された後、プロペラ9部分から水中に排気される。
 また、本実施形態においては、制御部70は、空燃比センサ71により検出される空燃比およびO2センサ72により検出されるO2量に基づいて、触媒60を通過した後の排気ガスの浄化率を求め、制御部70は、触媒60を通過した後の排気ガスの浄化率に基づいて、第2触媒61による浄化量がどの程度行われれば、第2触媒61を通過した後の排気ガスが適正となるか否かを判断する。
 これにより、制御部70により判断された第2触媒61の浄化率に基づいて、第2触媒61の触媒担持量を適正に決定することができ、第2触媒61に用いられる貴金属量の適正化が可能となり、貴金属量低減によるコストダウンを図ることができる。
 また、触媒60および第2触媒61による浄化率を適正に判断することができるので、触媒60および第2触媒61を必要最小限の容量にすることができ、触媒60および第2触媒61の小型化を図ることができる。
 また、制御部70は、O2センサ72により検出された触媒60を通過した後の排気ガスのO2量と、あらかじめ測定した適正なリッチ側のO2量および適正なリーン側のO2量と比較し、触媒60後のO2量が適正な範囲にあるか否かを判断する。
 そして、制御部70は、検出した触媒60を通過した後のO2量が、適正なリッチ側のO2量および適正なリーン側のO2量の範囲から外れた場合に、O2量がリッチ側のO2量およびリーン側のO2量の範囲に入るように、空燃比を修正してエンジンEの燃焼制御を行う。
 このように排気ガスの浄化率を、適正なO2量と比較することで、エンジンEの空燃比を精度よく保持することができる。
 また、制御部70は、排気ガスのO2量を検出して、このO2量が以上である場合に、例えば、経年劣化による触媒60が異常であると判断する。
 これにより、触媒60の異常による排気ガスの排ガス規制違反を防止することができ、エンジンEを保護することも可能となる。
 以上説明したように、本実施形態においては、エンジンEの排気マニホールド39に設けられた触媒60および排気管44に設けられた第2触媒61と、触媒60の上流側および下流側に設置された空燃比センサ71およびO2センサ72と、エンジンEの燃焼制御を行う制御部70とを備え、制御部70は、空燃比センサ71またはO2センサ72による検出値に基づいて排気ガスの浄化率を算出し、この排気ガスの浄化率が適正となるようにエンジンEの燃焼制御を行う。
 これにより、制御部70により判断された第2触媒61の浄化率に基づいて、第2触媒61の触媒担持量を適正に決定することができ、第2触媒61に用いられる貴金属量の適正化が可能となり、貴金属量低減によるコストダウンを図ることができる。また、触媒60および第2触媒61による浄化率を適正に判断することができるので、触媒60および第2触媒61を必要最小限の容量にすることができ、触媒60および第2触媒61の小型化を図ることができる。
 また、本実施形態においては、制御部70は、O2センサ72により検出された触媒60を通過した後の排気ガスのO2量と、あらかじめ測定した適正なリッチ側のO2量および適正なリーン側のO2量とを比較し、触媒60を通過した後の排気ガスのO2量が、適正なリッチ側のO2量および適正なリーン側のO2量の範囲から外れた場合に、O2量がリッチ側のO2量およびリーン側のO2量の範囲に入るように、空燃比を修正してエンジンEの燃焼制御を行う。
 これにより、排気ガスのO2量を、適正なO2量と比較することで、エンジンEの空燃比を精度よく保持することができる。
 また、本実施形態においては、制御部70は、O2センサ72により検出された触媒60を通過した後の排気ガスのO2量が異常である場合に、触媒60の異常であると判断する。
 これにより、触媒60の異常による排気ガスの排ガス規制違反を防止することができ、エンジンEを保護することも可能となる。
 また、本実施形態においては、第2触媒61の下流側に微粒子フィルタ65を配置した。
 これにより、微粒子フィルタ65により触媒60および第2触媒61を通過した排気ガスに含まれる微粒子を除去することができる。これにより、PM規制およびPN規制に対応することができる。
 上述の実施形態は、あくまでも本発明の一実施の態様であり、本発明の趣旨を逸脱しない範囲で任意に変形、及び応用が可能である。
 例えば、上述の実施形態ではエンジンEがガソリンエンジンの場合を説明したが、ディーゼルエンジン等の排気浄化が必要なエンジンでもよい。触媒60および第2触媒61はエンジンEに応じて適切な触媒60および第2触媒61を選択すればよく、例えば、ディーゼルエンジンの場合には、SCR(Selection Catalyst Reduction)触媒、又はSoot(Soot catalyst)触媒といったディーゼルエンジンに適した触媒を使用すればよい。

Claims (7)

  1.  エンジンの排気流路に設けられた少なくとも1つの触媒と、
     前記触媒の上流側および下流側に設置された排気ガスセンサと、
     前記エンジンの燃焼制御を行う制御部とを備え、
     前記制御部は、前記排気ガスセンサによる検出値に基づいて排気ガスの浄化率を算出し、この排気ガスの浄化率が適正となるように前記エンジンの燃焼制御を行うことを特徴とする船外機。
  2.  前記下流側に設置された排気ガスセンサの下流側に第2触媒を設置したことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の船外機。
  3.  前記制御部は、前記下流側に設置された排気ガスセンサにより検出された前記触媒を通過した後の排気ガスのO2量と、あらかじめ測定した適正なリッチ側のO2量および適正なリーン側のO2量とを比較し、前記触媒を通過した後の排気ガスのO2量が、適正なリッチ側のO2量および適正なリーン側のO2量の範囲から外れた場合に、O2量がリッチ側のO2量およびリーン側のO2量の範囲に入るように、空燃比を修正して前記エンジンの燃焼制御を行うことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の船外機。
  4.  前記制御部は、前記下流側に設置された排気ガスセンサにより検出された前記触媒を通過した後の排気ガスのO2量が異常である場合に、前記触媒の異常であると判断することを特徴とする請求項2に記載の船外機。
  5.  前記排気ガスセンサは、空燃比センサまたはO2センサのいずれかであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の船外機。
  6.  前記触媒は、セラミック型の触媒であり、前記第2触媒は、メタル型の触媒であることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の船外機。
  7.  前記第2触媒の下流側に微粒子フィルタを配置したことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の船外機。
