- Non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery in which lithium titanate is used as the negative electrode active material, vapor-grown carbon fiber having a fiber length average of 1 to 5 ⁇ m is used as the negative electrode conduction aid, and polyacrylic acid is used as the negative electrode binder. It is being developed (Patent Document 1). Electrode resistance of the negative electrode is reduced by using vapor-grown carbon fiber, which has higher conductivity than conventional conductive aids (such as graphite and acetylene black), and vapor-grown with a specific length.

- a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery using lithium titanate as a negative electrode active material has a problem that the electrolyte decomposes and gas is generated due to the reaction between the lithium titanate and the electrolyte when charging and discharging are repeated.
- Patent Document 1 even if the resistance increase due to the structural collapse of the negative electrode can be suppressed, the problem of suppressing gas generation during repeated charging and discharging actually remains, and there is room for improvement.
- vapor-grown carbon fibers having a prescribed diameter (sometimes referred to as carbon nanotubes) Is used as a conductive additive
- a polymer having an acidic functional group is used as a binder
- carbon nanotubes and the polymer are used in a specific weight ratio, whereby the dispersibility of the negative electrode active material, the carbon nanotubes and the polymer is improved.
- the inventors have found that a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery having excellent cycle stability and high input/output characteristics can be obtained while suppressing gas generation during repeated charge and discharge, and completed the present invention.
- the present invention is a negative electrode for a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery
- the negative electrode includes a negative electrode active material, a conductive additive and a binder
- the negative electrode active material has an average operating potential of 0.5 V (vs. Li / Li + ) or more and less than 2.0 V (vs. Li / Li + ) in desorption and insertion of lithium ions
- the conductive auxiliary agent contains carbon nanotubes having a diameter of 100 nm or less in an amount of 0.05% by weight or more and 2% by weight or less with respect to the total weight of the negative electrode active material, the conductive auxiliary agent, and the binder.
- the binder is characterized by containing a polymer having an acidic functional group in an amount of 2% by weight or more and 8% by weight or less based on the total weight of the negative electrode active material, the conductive additive and the binder.
- a negative electrode active material By using carbon nanotubes having a predetermined diameter as the conductive additive of the negative electrode, using a polymer having an acidic functional group as a binder, and further using carbon nanotubes and the polymer in a predetermined weight ratio, a negative electrode active material is obtained. Since the dispersibility between carbon nanotubes and polymers is improved and electrons can be transferred efficiently, less gas is generated even when charging and discharging are repeated, and not only has excellent cycle stability, but also high input/output characteristics. A non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery can be obtained.
- the negative electrode for a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery of the present invention contains a conductive auxiliary agent, a binder and a negative electrode active material.
- the conductive additive of the present invention contains carbon nanotubes having a diameter of 100 nm or less in an amount of 0.05% by weight or more and 2% by weight or less based on the total weight of the negative electrode active material, the conductive additive, and the binder.

- the diameter of spherical acetylene black which is a general conductive additive, is about 40 nm, and a good conductive network is constructed by forming an aggregate called a structure in which a large number of particles are connected. Since the structure has a complicated and large shape formed of many particles, a certain amount is necessary for formation of a good conductive network. Since the carbon nanotube has a tubular structure, and the shape itself corresponds to the structure of acetylene black, a good conductive network can be constructed.
- the diameter of the carbon nanotubes used exceeds 100 nm, the size tends to be larger than the structure formed by acetylene black, so that it is necessary to effectively connect the active materials and form a good conductive network. It is considered that the amount used tends to be higher than when acetylene black is used. Therefore, the number of side reaction points on the surface increases, and as a result, the gas generation amount also increases.
- the diameter is set to a predetermined value or less, it is possible to construct a conductive network that can achieve efficient electron transfer while reducing the amount used, so that it is possible to control the increase of reaction points on the surface to some extent. As a result, the side reaction with the electrolyte can be suppressed, and it is estimated that the amount of gas generated is reduced.

- the polymer having an acidic functional group is contained in the negative electrode at least 3 times the weight of the carbon nanotube having a diameter of 100 nm or less.
- ⁇ A polymer without acidic functional groups is hydrophobic and has a high affinity with carbon nanotubes of the same hydrophobic nature, so carbon nanotubes tend to form aggregates with each other or with polymer and carbon nanotubes.

Description

<負極>
