- the pressurizing pump 132 is connected to a feed pump 131 and a fuel injection valve 134 installed in the fuel tank 130 by a fuel pipe 133, respectively.
- the pressurizing pump 132 is connected to a pump drive cam 500 that is rotationally driven in conjunction with the crankshaft 123 of the internal combustion engine 100, and is driven by the rotational drive of the pump drive cam 500.
- the low-pressure fuel supplied from the feed pump 131 is pressurized, and the pressurized high-pressure fuel is delivered to the fuel injection valve 134.
- the pressurizing pump 132 has a suction valve 1321, a pressurizing chamber 1322, a plunger 1323, a tappet 1324, a pressing spring 1325, and a discharge valve 1326.
- the plunger 1323 is pressed against the pump drive cam 500 via the tappet 1324 by the elastic force of the pressing spring 1325.
- the pump drive cam 500 has a quadrangular shape in a sectional view, and is rotationally driven in conjunction with the crankshaft 123 of the internal combustion engine 100.
- the volume of the pressurizing chamber 1322 changes as the plunger 1323 moves up and down according to the rotational drive of the pump drive cam 500.
- the fuel sucked out from the fuel tank 130 by the feed pump 131 is supplied to the pressurizing pump 132 through the path shown by the arrow in the figure.
- the pressurizing pump 132 opens the intake valve 1321 and introduces fuel into the pressurizing chamber 1322, and then closes the intake valve 1321 at a predetermined timing.
- the plunger 1323 rises with the rotational driving of the pump drive cam 500, so that the volume of the pressurizing chamber 1322 decreases and the fuel pressure in the pressurizing chamber 1322 rises.
- the pressurizing pump 132 opens the discharge valve 1326 at a timing when the fuel pressure in the pressurizing chamber 1322 reaches a predetermined target value.
- the high-pressure fuel pressurized by the pressurizing pump 132 is delivered to the fuel pipe 133 on the fuel injection valve 134 side, and the fuel injection valves 134 are attached via the common rail 1331 to which the plurality of fuel injection valves 134 are attached. Is supplied to.
- the pressurizing process of the pressurizing pump 132 is a process from closing the intake valve 1311 to opening the discharge valve 1326. During this period, the drive torque of the pump drive cam 500 is required to raise the plunger 1323 by the rotational drive of the pump drive cam 500. Since the pump drive cam 500 is interlocked with the crankshaft 123 of the internal combustion engine 100, the drive torque of the pump drive cam 500 for operating the pressurizing pump 132 is the combustion torque generated by combustion of the internal combustion engine 100 (engine It becomes a reaction force against (torque). The total of the drive torque of the pump drive cam 500 and the combustion torque is output to the outside as the engine torque of the internal combustion engine 100.
- the pump drive cam 500 is configured to rotate once (360 degrees) every time the crankshaft 123 rotates twice (720 degrees). Therefore, the drive torque of the pump drive cam 500 acts as a load on the crankshaft 123 every time the crankshaft 123 makes a half rotation (180 degrees rotation).
- the pump drive cam 500 has a quadrangular shape which is a basic shape in a sectional view, but the shape of the pump drive cam 500 can be appropriately determined according to the number of cylinders of the internal combustion engine 100. At this time, it is desirable that the number of vertices of the pump drive cam 500 (for example, four vertices of a quadrangle) be the same as the number of cylinders. For example, in the case of a 6-cylinder internal combustion engine, two triangular pump drive cams 500 may be used, and the total number of peaks of the pump drive cam 500 may be the same as the number of cylinders. In the case of an 8-cylinder internal combustion engine, two pump drive cams 500 each having a rectangular shape may be used, and the total number of peaks of the pump drive cams 500 may be the same as the number of cylinders.
- control device 1 controls the suction valve 1321 of the pressurizing pump 132 to be closed after the position of the piston 170 in the cylinder 150 exceeds the top dead center. Therefore, the mounting position of the pump drive cam 500 around the rotation axis is set so that the plunger 1323 is operated in the ascending direction after the piston 170 has passed the top dead center. Therefore, the drive torque of the pump drive cam 500 becomes maximum after the piston 170 has passed the top dead center.

- the outer diameter side convex portion of the plunger rod 1346 engages with the anchor 1347, whereby the plunger rod 1346 is pulled upward in the axial direction, and the plunger rod 1346 is separated from the seat portion of the orifice cup 1345.
- the solenoid coil 1353 acts as a drive unit that drives the plunger rod 1346 that is the valve body.
- the fuel injection hole of the orifice cup 1345 is opened and closed, and the fuel injection valve 134 operates.
- the combustion pressure sensor 140 is provided at the tip of the nozzle holder 1342 of the fuel injection valve 134, and has a diaphragm 1411 and a pressure detection element 1412.
- the diaphragm 1411 of the combustion pressure sensor 140 is arranged closer to the combustion chamber of the cylinder 150 than the fuel injection hole formed in the orifice cup 1345 of the fuel injection valve 134. To be done. With this arrangement, the diaphragm 1411 flexibly deforms in accordance with the pressure in the cylinder 150 (cylinder pressure), so that the diaphragm 1411 acts as a pressure receiving portion. The deformation amount of the diaphragm 1411 according to the in-cylinder pressure is detected as the strain amount of the pressure detection element 1412 arranged around the diaphragm 1411, and the electric signal according to the strain amount is output from the pressure detection element 1412.
- the pressure detection element 1412 acts as a pressure detection unit that detects the pressure received by the diaphragm 1411 as the in-cylinder pressure.
- the pressure detection element 1412 is configured using, for example, a piezoelectric element. As a result, the in-cylinder pressure (combustion pressure) of the cylinder 150 can be detected over a wide temperature range.
- the electric signal from the pressure detection element 1412 is transmitted to the charge amplifier 1414 formed integrally with the fuel injection valve 134 via the wiring 1413.

- the charge amplifier 1414 be arranged as close to the pressure detection element 1412 as possible.
- the charge amplifier 1414 may be omitted and the cost may be reduced.
- FIG. 9 is a diagram showing an example of waveforms of the valve opening control signal S9 output from the fuel injection control unit 82 to the fuel injection valve 134 and the output signal S2 from the combustion pressure sensor 140.
- the output signal S2 from the combustion pressure sensor 140 changes according to the valve opening control signal S9. That is, when the energization pulse of the valve opening control signal S9 is turned on at time t1, the valve opening instruction is given to the fuel injection valve 134, and the fuel injection is started. At this time, as described above, the solenoid coil 1353 pulls the plunger rod 1346 upward in the axial direction. When the movement amount of the plunger rod 1346 reaches a predetermined lift amount, the anchor 1347 and the core 1343 collide with each other. The mechanical vibration generated in the fuel injection valve 134 due to this collision is transmitted to the combustion pressure sensor 140, and is detected by the combustion pressure sensor 140 as a change in the in-cylinder pressure. As a result, as shown in FIG. 9, in the output signal S2 from the combustion pressure sensor 140, the amplitude fluctuates after the time t1.
- a voltage displacement occurs due to the presence or absence of the valve closing force before and after the amplitude variation at the time of opening and closing of the valve.
- This displacement of the voltage is due to the pressure in the cylinder 150 when the fuel injection valve 134 is closed, that is, before the plunger rod 1346 which is the valve body separates from the seat portion of the orifice cup 1345 which is the valve seat.
- the in-cylinder pressure detected by 140 and the pressure in the cylinder 150 when the fuel injection valve 134 is opened, that is, the combustion pressure sensor 140 detects when the plunger rod 1346 is separated from the seat portion of the orifice cup 1345.
- the pressure difference ⁇ P from the in-cylinder pressure is shown.
- the valve closing force of the fuel injection valve 134 is determined by the sum of the force of the spring 1351 pressing the plunger rod 1346 against the seat portion of the orifice cup 1345 and the fuel pressure supplied from the pressure pump 132 to the fuel injection valve 134.
- the combustion pressure sensor 140 detects the pressure in the cylinder 150 plus the valve closing force as the in-cylinder pressure.
- the combustion pressure sensor 140 detects only the pressure in the cylinder 150. Therefore, according to the opening/closing of the fuel injection valve 134, a pressure difference ⁇ P corresponding to the valve closing force is generated in the detection result of the combustion pressure sensor 140.
- the fuel pressure control unit 90 detects the pressure difference ⁇ P from the output signal S2 of the combustion pressure sensor 140, and operates the pressurizing pump 132 so that the pressure difference ⁇ P approaches a predetermined target value. To control the fuel pressure. As a result, the pressure of the fuel supplied from the pressurizing pump 132 to the fuel injection valve 134 is controlled to be reduced as much as possible within the range of the valve closing force that can secure the oil tightness. As a result, it becomes possible to reduce the drive power of the fuel injection valve 134.
- the valve closing force may be calculated from the pressure difference ⁇ P, and the fuel pressure may be adjusted by controlling the operation of the pressurizing pump 132 so that the valve closing force approaches a predetermined target value. For example, it is possible to calculate the valve closing force from the pressure difference ⁇ P by using a calculation formula that has been previously calculated or obtained from an incident.
- FIG. 10 is a flowchart showing a fuel pressure control procedure according to the embodiment. The flowchart of FIG. 10 is executed by the control device 1 at predetermined processing cycles when the internal combustion engine 100 is powered on.
- step S101 the fuel pressure control unit 90 determines whether the internal combustion engine 100 is in a predetermined low required fuel pressure state.
- the low required fuel pressure state is a state in which the load of the internal combustion engine 100 is low and the pressure required for the fuel injected by the fuel injection valve 134 is low.
- FIG. 11 is a schematic diagram illustrating a low required fuel pressure state.

That is, in step S101 of FIG. 10, it can be determined based on the rotation speed and the output torque of the internal combustion engine 100 whether the internal combustion engine 100 is in the low required fuel pressure state. As a result, if it is determined that the internal combustion engine 100 is in the low required fuel pressure state, the process proceeds to step S103, and if it is determined that the internal combustion engine 100 is not in the low required fuel pressure state, the process proceeds to step S102.

- the fuel pressure control unit 90 sets, for example, a target value of the fuel pressure to a predetermined maximum pressure, and outputs fuel pressure control information S11 according to this target value to the pressurizing pump 132.
- step S102 the process returns to step S101 to wait for the next processing cycle, and then the process is continued from step S101.
- step S103 the fuel pressure control unit 90 sets a target value Pt for the pressure difference ⁇ P.
- the target value Pt according to the operating state of the internal combustion engine 100 is set based on the map information stored in advance in the control device 1.
- the map information used at this time can be determined from prior calculation and experimental results.
- the set target value Pt may be changed in consideration of the secular change of the fuel injection valve 134 and the combustion pressure sensor 140. For example, the history of fuel injection by the fuel injection valve 134 is stored, and when the number of injections (number of valve closings) reaches a predetermined number, the target value Pt to be set is changed higher than before.
- step S104 the fuel pressure control unit 90 detects the pressure difference ⁇ P from the output signal S2 of the combustion pressure sensor 140. For example, when the energizing pulse of the valve opening control signal S9 output from the fuel injection control unit 82 is turned on or before the output signal S2 of the combustion pressure sensor 140, a certain time has elapsed from that time. And the output signal S2 of the combustion pressure sensor 140 at the time until the energization pulse of the valve opening control signal S9 is turned off. Then, the pressure difference ⁇ P is detected by calculating the difference between the acquired output signals S2.
- step S105 the fuel pressure control unit 90 compares the target value Pt set in step S103 with the pressure difference ⁇ P detected in step S104. As a result, if Pt ⁇ P, that is, if the difference between the target value Pt and the detected pressure difference ⁇ P is smaller than a predetermined value, the process returns to step S101, waits until the next processing cycle, and then the process starts from step S101. continue.
- step S105 if Pt ⁇ P, that is, if the detected pressure difference ⁇ P is larger than the target value Pt, the process proceeds to step S106.
- Pt> ⁇ P that is, when the detected pressure difference ⁇ P is smaller than the target value Pt, the process proceeds to step S108.
- step S106 the fuel pressure control unit 90 controls the operation of the pressure pump 132 so as to reduce the fuel pressure.
- the operation of the pressure pump 132 is controlled to adjust the fuel pressure so that the pressure difference ⁇ P approaches the target value Pt.
- step S107 the width of the energizing pulse of the valve opening control signal S9 is widened by the fuel injection control unit 82 to open the fuel injection period, that is, the fuel injection hole formed in the orifice cup 1345 in the fuel injection valve 134.
- the fuel injection valve 134 is controlled so as to lengthen the period from the opening to the closing. This reduces the valve closing force without changing the fuel injection amount.
- step S108 the fuel pressure control unit 90 controls the operation of the pressurizing pump 132 to increase the fuel pressure.
- the operation of the pressure pump 132 is controlled to adjust the fuel pressure so that the pressure difference ⁇ P approaches the target value Pt.
- step S109 the width of the energizing pulse of the valve opening control signal S9 is narrowed by the fuel injection control unit 82 to open the fuel injection period, that is, the fuel injection hole formed in the orifice cup 1345 in the fuel injection valve 134.
- the fuel injection valve 134 is controlled so as to shorten the period from the opening to the closing. As a result, the valve closing force is increased without changing the fuel injection amount.
- step S109 the process returns to step S101, waits until the next processing cycle, and then the process continues from step S101.
- the control device 1 for the internal combustion engine includes the fuel pressure control unit 90 that controls the pressure of the fuel supplied to the fuel injection valve 134 that injects the fuel into the internal combustion engine 100.
- the fuel injection valve 134 includes a plunger rod 1346 that is a valve body, a solenoid coil 1353 that is a drive unit that drives the plunger rod 1346, and an orifice having a fuel injection hole that is opened and closed according to the drive of the plunger rod 1346. And a cup 1345.
- a combustion pressure sensor 140 that detects an in-cylinder pressure that is a pressure in a combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine 100 is attached to the internal combustion engine 100.
- the fuel pressure is controlled on the basis of the pressure difference ⁇ P from the in-cylinder pressure detected by the combustion pressure sensor 140. Since it did in this way, the fuel pressure can be adjusted appropriately according to the valve closing force of the fuel injection valve 134.
- the fuel pressure control unit 90 controls the fuel pressure so that the pressure difference ⁇ P approaches the predetermined target value Pt (steps S105 to S109). Since it did in this way, the pressure adjustment of the fuel according to the valve closing force of the fuel injection valve 134 can be performed reliably.
- the fuel pressure control unit 90 may change the target value Pt according to the fuel injection history of the fuel injection valve 134 (step S103). In this way, the fuel pressure can be appropriately adjusted in consideration of the secular change of the fuel injection valve 134 and the combustion pressure sensor 140.
- the internal combustion engine 100 is provided with the pressurizing pump 132 for pressurizing the fuel.
- the fuel pressure control unit 90 controls the pressure of the fuel by controlling the operation of the pressurizing pump 132. Since this is done, it is possible to reliably control the fuel pressure.
- the control device 1 for the internal combustion engine further includes the fuel injection control unit 82 that controls the fuel injection valve 134.
- the fuel injection control unit 82 changes the opening/closing period of the fuel injection hole according to the control result of the fuel pressure by the fuel pressure control unit 90 (steps S107 and S109). Since this is done, the fuel pressure can be adjusted without changing the fuel injection amount.
- the fuel pressure control unit 90 determines whether or not the internal combustion engine 100 is in a predetermined low required fuel pressure state based on the rotation speed and the output torque of the internal combustion engine 100 (step S101), When it is determined that the fuel pressure is not in the low required fuel pressure state (step S101: No), the fuel pressure control based on the pressure difference ⁇ P is not performed (step S102). Since this is done, the fuel pressure can be adjusted according to the valve closing force of the fuel injection valve 134 without adversely affecting the operation of the internal combustion engine 100.

Abstract
