Description

A COOKING DEVICE COMPRISING A WASHING SYSTEM
The present invention relates to a cooking device comprising a washing system.
In ovens, the cooking process is generally performed by operating the heaters and the fan in the cooking cavity at the same time. The hot air heated by the heaters disposed on the ceiling, the base or the rear wall of the cooking cavity is distributed into the cooking cavity by means of the fan. During the cooking process, particles like splattered oil adhere to inner walls of the oven and cleaning the dirt becomes difficult when the oven is used several times without cleaning. In ovens, the most commonly used self cleaning method is the pyrolytic cleaning method but alternative methods have been devised due to safety concerns.
One of the methods used for cleaning the cooking cavity is the washing systems wherein the washing water supplied from outside is sent towards the surfaces of the cooking cavity to remove the residues on the surfaces of the cooking cavity. However, due to increasing temperatures in the cooking cavity, the washing water delivered into the cooking cavity vaporizes, thus adversely affecting the washing performance. Said washing systems are composed of the container wherein the washing water is stored, the spraying member which delivers the washing water into the cooking cavity and the pump which delivers the water in the container to the spraying member. The amount of water which decreases due to increasing temperatures causes the pump to draw air instead of water to run dry, thus decreasing the performance and economic life of the pump.
In the state of the art European Patent Document NO. EP2511614, an oven is disclosed, comprising a control unit which detects the amount of water in the water reservoir, which compares the detected value with a minimum water value defined for an effecting washing process and which starts the washing function if the detected value is above the minimum value.
The aim of the present invention is the realization of a cooking device which detects the vaporization in the cooking cavity due to increasing temperatures.
The cooking device realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claims and the respective claims thereof comprises a body; a cooking cavity which is arranged in the body and wherein the foodstuffs to be cooked are placed; a casing in the form of a box with an open front side which surrounds the cooking cavity; a washing system which is arranged on the casing and which has a container wherein the water taken from the mains line is delivered, a spraying member which delivers the water in the container into the cooking cavity and a pump which delivers the water in the container to the spraying member; a control unit which controls the washing system; at least one humidity sensor which is arranged on the cooking cavity and which detects the humidity in the cooking cavity; and at least one level detection means which is arranged in the container and which detects the water level in the container. In the cooking devices with washing systems, the water in the container is delivered to the spraying member by means of the pump. By means of the water sprayed by the spraying member, the washing process is carried out in the cooking cavity. The amount of water in the container before the washing process and during the washing process is detected by the level detection means while the level of the humidity caused by the water delivered into the cooking cavity is detected by the humidity sensor. A control unit controls the washing system and the components of the washing system.
The cooking device of the present invention comprises the control unit which detects the vaporization in the cooking cavity by means of the data received from the humidity sensor and the level detection means. The data received by the humidity sensor and the level detection means is transmitted to the control unit. The humidity sensor continuously measures the humidity in the cooking cavity before the washing process and the during the washing process. The producer prerecords the volume information of the cooking cavity into the control unit. The absolute humidity value in the cooking cavity is determined by the ratio of the humidity value detected by the humidity sensor to the volume of the cooking cavity. By means of the ratio of the water level in the container, which is detected by the level detection means before the washing process and during the washing process, to the volume of the cooking cavity, the absolute humidity value which can be delivered to the cooking cavity is determined. The control unit compares the two humidity values, which are detected simultaneously, and decides that vaporization has occurred in the cooking cavity if the absolute humidity value in the container is above the absolute humidity value in the cooking cavity.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the cooking device comprises a valve with one end connected to the mains line and the other to the container, and the control unit which opens the valve and takes water into the container from the mains line depending on the amount of vaporization in the cooking cavity according to the data received from the humidity sensor and the level detection means. Depending on the difference between the humidity value, which can be delivered from the container into the cooking cavity, and the humidity value in the cooking cavity detected by the humidity sensor, the control unit determines the amount of vaporization in the cooking cavity. If the humidity value in the cooking cavity is below the humidity value, which can be delivered from the container into the cooking cavity, the control unit opens the valve and takes water into the container from the mains line.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the cooking device comprises a temperature sensor which is disposed on the cooking cavity and which detects the temperature in the cooking cavity, and the control unit which opens the valve and regulates the amount of water taken into the container from the mains line depending on the temperature data received by the temperature sensor and the amount of vaporization detected by the humidity sensor and the level detection means. The amount of vaporization in the cooking cavity changes depending on the temperature. In case water is required to be taken into the container, the control unit opens the valve, thus delivering the required amount of water at the required temperature to the cooking cavity.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the cooking device comprises the control unit which closes the valve and stops water intake into the container from the mains line if the humidity value in the cooking cavity reaches the humidity value determined by the producer. The humidity value in the cooking cavity required for an effective washing process is recorded in the control unit by the producer. Water intake into the container from the mains line as a result of the difference between the humidity values in the container and the cooking cavity due to vaporization continues until the predetermined humidity value is reached. In case the predetermined humidity value is reached, the control unit closes the valve, thus preventing water intake into the container from the mains line.
By means of the present invention, a cooking device is realized, comprising a control unit which takes water into the container from the mains line depending on the amount of vaporization in the cooking cavity.
