Definitions

  • Present invention relates to an easily mountable novel canvas frame design enabling the exhibition materials such as pictures, paintings, etc. to be hung on the wall.
  • the invention comprises a development of a canvas frame design enabling especially the pictures to be easily stretched and attached to the frame.
  • the pictures to be hung on the wall for exhibition, decoration, and other needs or reasons comprises a structure referred to as frame which allows picture to be hung on the wall and holding it.
  • the frames have been constituted by a hanging arrangement made of wooden material allowing the four edges to be attached and to be hung on the wall for many years.
  • the pictures placed into these frames are usually adhered or attached onto a base located inside the frame. Therefore, the frames actually both make the edge of the base holding the picture decorative and function as a carrier.
  • frames comprising the constructions wherein the base carrying the picture is not present; the pictures usually created by humans or by means of printing are on the materials such as paper, plastic, or canvas; these materials are located so as to be from the front side towards the back side of the frame and to cover the frame.
  • These frame types usually called“canvas” in the market exhibits more obtuse appearance, it has a thick rectangular shape rather than a thin plate. They are often used for exhibiting the visual-purpose pictures without a frame appearance.
  • systems without any frame wherein the pictures are applied onto the cardboard, plastic, composite, or wooden plates.
  • the canvas frames are generally treated by means of constituting the rectangular frames, though the shapes may vary, and by covering said frame with the picture applied onto canvas, textile, paper, or similar material from the exposed front side towards the back side.
  • This covering method of the canvas frames are usually performed by means of spreading the picture material onto the frame and adhering or mechanically attaching it onto the back side.
  • This mechanic attachment method is performed through the wires called “staples” or nailed means such as pins by stretching and mounting the picture onto the frame.
  • Such a method is carried out manually or via complex machines considered expensive in order to clad the picture onto the canvas frame.
  • this method requires the permanent mounting of the permanent picture onto the frame. Changing or removing the picture requires detachment of the permanently-driven staples or pin-shaped nails causing damages. All these procedures have to be carried out during the manufacture process of the canvas frame. It is difficult for a user to carry out these procedures after the manufacture and purchase.
  • the picture sheet is folded and attached at the back side usually by a staple.
  • the parts apart from the staple locations expand over time and flabby parts are formed. In other words, a completely uniform stretch cannot be obtained.
  • the folded parts exhibit an unfavorable appearance, particularly at the edge portions.
  • a construction providing stretch without a fastening means such as adhesive, staple, or pins is applied by means of readily stretching the picture sheet onto the outer body of the assembled canvas frame.
  • outer body of the carrier chassis is permanently assembled and constituted via a fastening system which may be disassembled if desired.
  • the picture sheet is placed at the from side of this outer body of the carrier chassis and the end portions thereof are folded and inserted into the grooves at the back side via compression gaskets.
  • a fastening structure is obtained which may be readily disassembled if desired.
  • the most significant characteristic of said fastening structure is that the picture sheet is mounted onto the carrier chassis frame without any damage. Still, by the application of said system, a user will be able to readily change the picture and the picture sheet comprising an image to be exhibited if desired, once they purchased the frame.
  • Another advantage of the canvas frame design of the invention is that it does not require any skill for attaching the picture sheet to the carrier chassis frame and that it allows the end user to make this attachment.
  • Another advantage of the canvas frame design is that the picture sheet can easily be mounted onto the carrier chassis and disassembled therefrom without any damage. Thus, it comprises a construction which may be easily disassembled when carrying the picture or when another picture is preferred to be used and which allows for the assembling process without any damage.
  • the canvas frame design of the invention provides a significant operational ease for the mass production. While relatively expensive machines have to be used in the prior art for assembling the picture sheet onto the carrier chassis of the frame for the fast production, this system allows for the fast production without such a machine. Thus, the fact that there is no need for investing in such expensive machines for particularly mass production is a revolutionary novelty for the sector.
  • the canvas frame design of the invention minimizes the transportation, storage, and logistic costs in total and the processes thereof because it can be easily assembled and disassembled. Therefore, the canvas paintings prepared by the conventional methods causes high costs in terms of the transportation and there is a high probability of damage during the transportation because of their big sizes and delicateness. However, this system allows for a much easier and cost-effective logistic.
