Definitions

  • the present invention refers to an orthodontic device that allows an aesthetic correction of the external appearance of a denture.
  • Orthodontics is the dental science that studies the modification of the position of the teeth inside the mouth. As a consequence of current aesthetic trends, this branch of technology is currently focused, for the most part, on the aesthetic modification of the teeth of its clients, in general with an aesthetic and non-therapeutic purpose.
  • covers or splints made of a plastic material, with elastic properties, which are placed covering all the teeth and whose function is to push the teeth towards the desired position. From time to time, the movement that the splint induces the teeth causes it to lose its pressure function and must be changed by a different one that presses the teeth back to the desired position.
  • This method is expensive, since it requires a complete simulation of the intermediate positions of the teeth during the movement of the entire denture before generating the covers, manufacturing a considerable number of covers for various intermediate stages of the dental movement and, in addition, it requires Frequent visits to the orthodontist to check the movement of the teeth and change the covers.

  • the covers are not individual and are not made in the corrected position of the teeth, therefore, with this type of device although the frequency of visits to the orthodontist is reduced, it still requires covers for the intermediate positions between the initial position or real and the final or corrected position.
  • the inventor of the present invention has developed a new orthodontic device to bring the teeth to a corrected position that overcomes the drawbacks of prior art devices. For example, with the device of the present invention it is not necessary to carry out intermediate covers, but with a single cover it is possible to bring the teeth from the initial position to the corrected position.
