Description

Burn Treatment Cream and Production Method Thereof
Field of The Invention
This invention is related to a bum cream/ointment used for the treatment of chemical bums besides first, second and third-degree burns.
Background of The Invention
Burns are caused by various external sources which are classified as heat, chemical, electricity and radiation. Bum is a type of injury that occurs on the flesh or skin due to heat, electricity, chemicals, friction, or radiation. Burns that only affect the upper layer of the skin are defined as superficial or first-degree bums. Burns are sometimes referred to as partially thicker bums or second-degree burns when deeper layers are affected. In full thickness or third-degree burns, the burn affects all layers of the skin. In fourth-degree bums, the wound also affects deeper tissues such as muscle or bone.
The treatment required depends on the severity of the burn. While superficial burns can be treated with simple pain-killers, deeper bums may require longer treatment in special bum-treatment centres. Keeping the burnt area under cold water can relieve pain and reduce the wound formation, however prolonged exposure to cold can also decrease body temperature. Partially thicker burns may need to be cleaned and bandaged. Full thickness burns usually require surgical treatments such as skin grafting. In large bums, a high amount of intravenous fluid is usually required, because the inflammatory response of the body will result in significant fluid withdrawal from the capillary and oedema formation. The most common complications of burns are related to infection. Burns can be very painful; many different options are available for pain treatment. These include the use of simple analgesics (such as ibuprofen and acetaminophen) and opioids such as morphine. Benzodiazepines may be used in addition to analgesics to reduce anxiety. During the healing process, antihistamines, massage, or transcutaneous nerve stimulation can be used to relieve the itchiness.
A bum cream is mentioned within the patent document TR2008 / 02093 present in the current technique. The cream is a product made of egg yolk and olive oil to treat the bums on the skin and resolve the pain and cosmetic appearance of the skin.
The patent document TR2012 / 10606 in the present technique however, refers to a burn treatment ointment. The document is related to an ointment with a herbal combination to be used in burn treatments. The ointment is obtained by compounding olive oil, beeswax, turpentine, boswellia, mastic gum, fir gum, blackthorn and orchanet root at certain ratios.
In the present technique, the patent document TR2014 / 07106 includes information on the burn cream which is made of wax, olive oil and powder for therapeutic purposes to be used in second and third-degree skin bums, its substance properties, effects and amounts of active ingredients included are described.
The Objective of The Invention
The objective of the invention is to create a burning cream/ointment to be used for the treatment of chemical bums, as well as first, second and third-degree burns. It is also desired that the cream will resolve the pain associated with burns rapidly. The bum cream developed to achieve the above-mentioned objectives includes; olive oil, wax, egg yolk oil, fish oil, diphenhydramine and sulphanilamide.
Detailed Description of The Invention
The invention is a burn cream/ointment used in the treatment of first, second and third degree burns as well as chemical burns and includes olive oil, wax, egg yolk oil, fish oil (preferred whale oil), diphenhydramine and sulphanilamide.
The weight percentages of the substances are stated below;
• Olive Oil 80-90%
• Egg Yolk Oil 1-6%
• Fish Oil (preferred Whale Oil) 2-8%
• Wax 3-9%
• Diphenhydramine 0,02-0,1%
• Sulphanilamide 0,1 -0,5% Extra virgin olive oil is heated to at least l70°C -l80°C. When this temperature is reached, wax is added, and the added wax is melted by mixing. The heating is then terminated and egg yolk oil, fish oil (preferred whale oil), diphenhydramine and sulphanilamide are added. After stirring for 3-5 minutes, the preparation is allowed to rest for 6-7 hours. The ready-to-use ointment is then ready to be packaged.
Any kind of poultries can be used to obtain the oil of the egg yolk. Chicken eggs are preferred because they can be supplied easily. Also, any type of fish oil can be used as fish oil, however, the use of whale oil increases the effectiveness of the product. The invention is characterised as; being a burn cream/ointment used in the treatment of first, second and third degree burns as well as chemical bums; including olive oil, wax, egg yolk oil, fish oil (preferred whale oil), diphenhydramine and sulphanilamide and containing ingredients of 80-90% olive oil, 1-6% egg yolk oil , 2-8% fish oil (preferred whale oil), 3-9% wax, 0,02-0,1% diphenhydramine and 0,1 -0,5% sulphanilamide.
Being a burn cream/ointment used in the treatment of first, second and third degree bums as well as chemical burns, the special compounding techniques include;
Heating the extra virgin olive oil of 80-90% weight to at least l70°C -l80°C.
When this temperature is reached, adding the 3-9% in weight of wax and melting it by mixing.
Terminating the heating and adding 1-6% egg yolk oil, 2-8% fish oil (preferred whale oil), 0,02-0,1% diphenhydramine and 0, 1-0,5% sulphanilamide.
Stirring for 3-5 minutes and allowing the preparation to rest for 6-7 hours.
Packaging the ready-to-use cream/ointment prepared.
The invention is applied by spreading on bums. The invention is effective for all types of bums. It is also used in sunburn and chemical burns. Within 45 minutes of application, there will be no pain and the risk of infection will be reduced. The wound won't blister. It does not leave burn marks even in third degree bums. In first-degree bums, complete healing takes up to 10 hours.
